I didn't know you resumed again. It's been 2 years I saw your last post, I thought you never came back. I just received notification that you posted a video. I have been missing a lot. Thanks man
Mario, you are're a guiding superstar for us! Another great video. Enjoying your latest course and glad to be your student! Keep up the marvelous work🤩
Hello, in the same boat. I was thinking of the Maya course but the Topology course looks like it might focus more on topology which I think would be more useful. @vasim495 did you do the course in the end?
@@fullyleaded I bought the course and started it recently. I'm not very far in yet, but it seems as long as you know the tools the concepts are the same so it all applies. I took a 3D course in college that used maya, but with my student maya trial ending I have to make the switch to blender.
Really great video! I have been struggling with topology for quite some time. But you made it really easy for me to understand why the edges flow the way they do Thank you so much!
So happy I found this channel. I used to 3D model alot few years ago and now I'm trying to get back to it but it seems like i forgot my routine 😔 These classes will get me back on my feet! Thank you so much! 🥰
Hey Elementza, thank you so much for providing all this great content for free! For the next one, think you could focus more on the topology theory behind merging/booleaning shapes? Thats imo the most difficult and time consuming part for me. Got ur course a while ago, which really explains it all in depth. But it would be great to have a shorter tutorial like this to refer to whenever stuck
You're a great service to many. Understanding topology and edge flow can be a constant struggle depending on what you're making. That's one of the reasons I enjoy being a 3D model artist. Having to think about how I'd tackle something, thinking outside of the box, etc. One can learn a lot from such hurdles.
Hey Mario, your tutorials are mind blowing. I am finding them very useful. Could you plz tell me how did you make those shape curve? Because we can see two shape flat and curved you worked on both to expain.
Hello, your video is great. If I simply want to learn at my own pace, which class is better for me to sign up for? [I pay more attention to the courses updated every two weeks. Is there any regular class]😁😁😁
I use 3ds Max, and I was wondering how you are drawing over the screen. Is this a Blender plugin, or are you using an external program? Very informative. I knew quite a bit of this topology, but there was a few good tips in this.
I use blender, which one should I purchase C4D or Maya, class six means is it complete assignments and feedback ? how long can I get the feedback ? after completing the course if I have any doubts can I get the feedback life time ? monthly 2 videos means can I access them every month as a member ?
AWESOME ELEMENTZA !!!!I have a question when you apply smooth in Maya, is it the same as subvididir? I work in blender and the maya can be subdivided but also use the surface subdivision, I don't know when you apply one or the other, greetings!
Hi, Also using Blender. It depends on what you want to achieve which one you would choose. Subdivide (under Edge tab) keeps the shape the same and subdivision surface (Under modifier) makes it smooth and both adds geometry. Use two cubes and apply subdivide on the one and cube is still a cube and subdivision surface on the other and the cube turns into a sphere. I use subdivision surface more often but you need to add edge loops/bevels/crease to keep the shape. In object mode, right click, shade smooth do not add extra geometry and it appears smooth.
So I am a beginner and was recommended this channel and I'm still confused, is there any written Pdf or anything like that, that I can go through to help me memorize the rules, guidance and stuff like that for topology, Maya, and modeling? These videos are nice but I find myself getting lost because I need something written as well!!
Thank you! But not sure If I understand what you mean by full of pinching? If this demo did not answer what you´re looking for, please check the video where this topic is covered more in detail here th-cam.com/video/_Lv5P1T4VI4/w-d-xo.html Cheers :)
@@Elementza I meant it already had deformations specially in the corners. The cylinder in the first example that you propose as the solution for not having deformations has deformations. Sorry, didn't want to be a pickle 😅
@@maschinelab8598 I would def suggest checking attached video... you´ll find the answer if you´re interested in more technical explanation why deformations happen. As for our example here, the level of topology and camera distance matters for the result. For an optimal range, any deformation here is very minimal and would not have any serious impact on final results. In case the object would be closer to the camera (or a hero asset) then approach would be different (more subdivisions and no redirection).
@@Elementza will watch the video. Your last sentence is what I was refering to. For me the distortion was very clear, maybe due to my OCD lol. Thank you.

Is the course applicable for Blender users?
Can't believe you're providing such valuable information for free. Thank you!
this video is pure gold! ive been searching for a video that explains topology flow and I'm glad you made this video
Amazing explanation of edge flow. I finally understand it better after few day of watching videos about proper edge flow
