      Hey I have a 97 ford f350 that is completely stock except for a k&n cold airintake and I'm wanting to install the Hydra php tuner now what tunes could I use that would not hurt my truck?

    • @NoHalfAss
      @NoHalfAss  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@VenacticGod sorry for the late response bud. I just saw your comment. You could honestly run whatever tune you want. The tune would perform better with more upgrades, but it’s not necessarily bad to use a high HP tune with a stock truck, or requires that you do the upgrades first. I mean, it’s not good for the truck in general, but it’s not “worse” because your truck is stock.

      @@NoHalfAss yo Cody how did u get ur t hanger u bolt tight enough around the 2 pipes? I can't get it tight enough to pinch the two pipes together so the pipe that goes over the rear axle is still loose.

    • @NoHalfAss
      @NoHalfAss  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@73powerstroke56 honestly bro it wasn’t a problem for me. The clamp slipped right over and tightened down just fine, more than enough to be as tight as it needs to be. Maybe they messed up on something with the kit the sent you. Maybe contact the seller about it?

    I welded mine. Was afraid someone would unbolt and take it. Was one of my favorite mods for performance and appeal. Felt like my truck could breath easier.
    Only thing I’ve done so far that was harder on my OBS 7.3 was pulling and re-installing the turbo! Happy you finally got to the exhaust. That was the start of a new beginning in mods for me.
    Mods become an obsession
    That’s why I think they label the mods in “Stages 1,2,3”, each stage becomes more expensive,higher performance gains achieved and deepening the obsession for more power and appeal!
    Thanks for your time.
    Was funny watching your friend in chair in background while you raised the up-pipe. I knew he’d have to get up and give ya a hand. I think he knew too. Lol

    Sounds great, wish I had given you some tips for removing the old exhaust. So for those who haven't done a system yet, spray the band clamp with PB Blaster that will help break the clamp loose. Also if you remove the CAC pipe gives you more room when working on the down pipe. Cody when you upgrade the turbo replace the leaking up pipe's I thought I had seen some soot on the down pipe. Again SOUNDS GREAT!!!!!

    • @NoHalfAss

      Myles Hansel okay man I’ll look into those🤘🏻 wouldn’t it just be new to turbo boots to fix the leaks?

    • @BuckInchuteranch1

      Powerstroke Project I’ve seen a few videos of trucks and big rigs where they’ll insert a pvc pipe end with a fitting so they can pump air into the system. Then squirt soapy water on the joints to look for leaks. Then just tighten the hose clamps to seal them up better.

    Good vid buddy and love the 7.3! i'm on my second one. i noticed a little lag when i installed my 5" exhaust also, and figured with the exhaust breathing more it felt like it was choking trying to pull more air into the turbo. I pulled out the stock corrugated intake hose and air box and installed an AEM Brute force intake. Holy shit the difference!!! the turbo spooled up quicker, and sounded louder. Never heard the waste gate dump either before that, it's awesome. Plugged in a Diablosport Predator and unless you want to go crazy with engine mods, you wont need anymore!!

  • @IIIRorschachIII
    @IIIRorschachIII 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Hey man you need to go get a kc300x turbo & delete that ebp valve. Those factory Garrett turbos on the 7.3s don't produce very good boost & also when those ebp valves get older they start sticking, & the wastegate will start to stick open sometimes also, & then all you have is turbo sound & 0 boost. Then go get a hydra chip, & also pick up a fass lift pump & then go get some upgraded injectors from full force diesel. THEN you will really love that 7.3! Got the same exhaust but with a 8in chrome tip. Also pick up a Edge insight cts2 monitor with the EGT probe. Also if you do do this stuff you are gonna need to have a transmission built for it cause the factory transmission won't last very long with real power.

    • @NoHalfAss
      @NoHalfAss  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Death BeforeDishonor thanks for the advice man! Check out some of my newer videos! I got the edge cs2 monitor and just put the hydra on also. A race transmission is definitely something I want to do eventually. And I’ll look into that turbo cuz now my stock turbo is getting turbo surge since I’m getting 25psi now with the hydra.

    @YamahaWR200 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Hey, just curious.. I have a 4” exhaust on my 7.3 and I’m debating on cutting the muffler out and throwing a straight pipe in its place and keeping it full length still. Just curious how much louder you think it will be? I don’t want to get hassled cause it’s “too loud” but I’m fine with a little louder.

    • @NoHalfAss
      @NoHalfAss  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I had the stock exhaust which I believe was 3” or 3 1/2” inch with a resignator when I bought the truck, so when I went from that to the 5” straight pipe it was a HUGE difference and way louder. But if you already have a 4” exhaust and just plan on taking the muffler out and having a 4” straight pipe I don’t think it will be a crazy difference, but you’ll notice it for sure. I think you’ll like it!

It's a fully balanced assembly and can be easily installed right at home. I also threw on the banks big head waste gate actuator. Definitely brought the balls back in my old 7.3. (285,000 Miles) Did an EBPV delete as well. Just ordered the oil cross over and a few other goodies. Seems what I have thrown at the truck so far has paid off.
