Very impressing, what an outstandingly beautiful voice, Aksel I hope you’ll give many concerts all over the world, so many people can enjoy your wonderful singing.
I recommend all those who have not yet made it to buy the cd recorded by Aksel Rikkvin for Signum Classic. It is a CD full of wonders, a masterpiece of beauty. Every time I listen it is always a joy I can not describe.

Would the musical ignorati be so gung ho over AR if he wasn't such a beautiful boy? Doubtful. Like all male trebles, his lower voice is practically non-existent and straight, colorless tone do not lend themselves to an extended, wide-ranging piece such as this. Makes for painful listening after a few minutes. Stick to technically undemanding music like the Faure "Pie Jesu," which was, at best, here on TH-cam, a middling performance. Damn, he is a cutie, though, isn't he?

If you haven't come across them yet, listen to two masters, Thomas Quasthoff and Hermann Prey, both bass baritones at very different ends of the spectrum. My money is on you developing more into the lyric end like Prey (but as a lyric tenor), but who knows! What a lovely journey for you!
Charles Morgan Both Prey and Quasthoff are marvelous with the latter being a bit better, in my opinion. But my preference is for Hans Hotter and Florian Boesch over any other male singers. Only they reliably sing Schubert's Lieder with the simplicity and immediacy they require.
I quite agree on Hans Hotter, one of the true greats, whose Wagnerian roles are the ones I listen to the most. There is a stunning (if lousy quality) youtube video of him on French TV (it looks to have been recorded from the screen!) singing Leiermann with his breathy late voice, absolutely living the character and the song, with Quasthoff before him singing Nebensonnen, quite wonderfully. Thanks for the suggestion of Florian Boesch - he's singing Du Bist die Ruh as I type. I can't wait to hear Aksel's version of the same, he sang Die Forelle with such immediacy of feeling and delivery that I can't help but hope he performs so many more!

I am amazed that you can memorize all the lyrics in this rather long piece and difficult piece of music. You sings with great expression, and I think you can be an opera singer in future if you so wish.
Thank you! This is one of the performances that I am most happy with. I put the sheet music away on the general rehearsal, and since I remembered everything, I put it away for the concert as well.

I think mention should also be made of the pianist. His is a supporting role, requiring a firm foundation for the clarinet and voice without ever intruding on or overwhelming them. Schubert himself was a gifted accompanist and I couldn't help thinking how pleased he would have been by this pianist.

A lot of lyrics to remember in this song. You remember them so well because they all come from your heart. You don't really need to "memorize" them, they come naturally to you alongside the music. Aksel, Du singst wunderschön. Das schöne Schubertlied ist nicht leicht zu singen. Was Du mit Deinen 14 Jahren leistet, ist sehr gut. Ich weiß nicht, ob Du die deutsche Sprache beherrscht. Beim Singen ist das Deutsch sehr gut von Dir. Lass Dir mit dem Stimmbruch noch Zeit, wenn Du auch keinen Einfluss darauf hast. Prima auch die 5030 Aufrufe in den 11 Tagen. Norwegen kann stolz auf Dich sein.

Aksel singt auch nach dem Stimmbruch wunderschön; und nun fast göttlich. Hoffentlich bekommt dem jungen, sympathischen Mann der Ruhm. Ich würde mich darüber sehr, sehr freuen. Solche Talente wie er sind in der heutigen Welt der Bekloppten, in der der Schein das Sein bestimmt, die absolute Ausnahme. @@erikascolovin6312, ich habe die Videos von Aksel erst vor wenigen Wochen entdeckt. Ich freue mich immer sehr wenn ich mit jungen Leuten zu tun habe, die nicht ihr ganzes Leben "dem Smartphone widmen", sondern etwas daraus machen. Es gibt inzwischen wenige davon und ich wünsche Aksel von Herzen, daß er ein glückliches Leben führen kann - und den wohlverdienten Ruhm verträgt. Dann wird er sich überall auf der Welt einrichten können, wo man die EIGENE Vergangenheit und Kultur schätzt und ehrt. Ich befürchte nämlich, daß sich Musik, die sich auf unserem christlichen Kulturerbe gründet, wenig Zukunft in West- und Nordeuropa haben wird. Die jetzt massiv zugereiste und vielbegrüßte Kultur hat nirgendwo, wo sie sich ausgebreitet hat, etwas von der Kultur der ursprünglichen Gastländer übrig gelassen. Ich war viele Jahre auf der ganzen Welt unterwegs und weiß, wovon ich rede: Pakistan, Indonesien, Libanon, Palästina, viele Länder Afrikas und nun u.a. Malaysia....
