ENFP Explained - What it Means to be the ENFP Personality Type.

  • Warm, enthusiastic and imaginative, the ENFP is a personality who embraces a life full of possibilities. If you are an ENFP, it means you are a highly creative person who seeks to extract deeper meaning from life’s experiences. You have a penchant for recognizing patterns and connections between ideas and phenomena in the world. Despite being an extrovert, who cares about people, ENFPs are also highly independent and can spend a great deal of time by themselves engaging in their personal interests. ENFPs can often appear introverted despite being so gregarious and sociable. Their zest for life naturally draws people to them and they typically enjoy a large circle of friends. #16personalities #enfp #mbti

    We have a lot of connections, but we generally don't appreciate a large group of people. We like small group of people where meaningful conversations can take place. However, time and again, we also crave some light hearted and fun conversations.

    • @myarupyon
      @myarupyon 3 ปีที่แล้ว +82

      This is so true. Its a misconception that we like big groups. I myself usually can only maintain having less than 5 close friends at a time whom I actively try to maintain contact with and spend time with, where we have a lot to talk about. I love meeting new people and getting to know them, but most people arent gonna vibe with the topics of conversation i find interesting, or they arent able to give input that can keep me interested, so trying to maintain close contact with such people can be very tiring and draining as i have to actually put in effort to try to find something to talk about. With my very few close friends its usually things I find interesting. Also ALL of my close friends just happen to be INTJs and INFPs, throughout my life consistently, lol.

    • @myarupyon
      @myarupyon 3 ปีที่แล้ว +78

      @@Himeko-wv7fu I guess thats why ENFPs are known to be the most introverted among extroverts. While we do live off social interactions, certain types of social interactions like mundane small talk can be very draining. ENFPs are driven by our dominant Ne function, and we also have tertiary Te, so ideas and being able to talk about interesting concepts energize us more than anything. We aren't driven by the Se "living the moment" or Fe emotional connection kind of things unlike many other extroverts especially ESxPs which makes us very different from them.

    Your wrong about the friends thing. Most people get it wrong. ENFP's have a huge circle of acquaintances. Very few actually make into a circle of friends. In fact, our circle of friends, is usually very small. As a Male ENFP, it takes forever to save a phone number in my phone from someone. I usually just remember the number to the person. When. I feel they earned my trust. I might put them in. It takes weeks or even months for someone to get into my phone.

      Omg i feel that like I can talk and vibe with anyone but I will not consider anyone my best friend lightly and take time before deciding if I want to have them near me at all times. Like even when they're in my circle I sometimes get feelings that I want to find other people again it's so exhausting I did this all my childhood and never really connected with any group because I just was changing between groups of people...

      @@alexandrabmendoza5934 But that's normal. Everyone will always ebb and flow in friendship. When your feeling the ebb's take a step back, take a few days to recenter yourself. Then start slowly with your friends. All of us ENFP are absorbing the energies around us. That's both positive and negative. And it's just not with our friends. It's everyone around us. The reason I believe you're having hard time making these connections with people. Is that the energy is your absorbing are probably harder for you to process. And it's making you tired and probably a little anxious because you don't know how to process it.

    The friends thing isn’t as cut and dry as in this video for me. I have like “levels” of friendship. If we have a mutual respect and we get along, we’re friends. I like having a lot of friends, but I only have a small circle of close friends: people who I feel more connected to emotionally and mentally. These are the people I lean on for support, who I talk and laugh with often, and whose company I enjoy

  • @jaegeristsupremacy2038
    @jaegeristsupremacy2038 2 ปีที่แล้ว +15

    Socially, we aren't into big friend groups, like we'll always have an intimate circle. We get along with most people, but only close with a few. It's like a city for us. We know how to get around and know the places, but we only ever have a few favorite places to go to. It's sort of like that.

    I’m an ENFP but I’m also very socially unaware. It’s so hard to figure out what people are thinking or more importantly, if they like me or not. I want to make everyone happy so not knowing what people think of me is terrifying. I also feel like I’m constantly looking for approval from other people.

  • @tenn_k
    @tenn_k 2 ปีที่แล้ว +9

    Fellow ENFP here, the test isn't always to be fully trusted but it's very interesting ngl. My experience? I don't always talk directly to people I don't know especially if they got their own group already. However, if time puts us all together, I say that I don't really have a hard time getting to know them. But it doesn't mean that I can be social when I'm put in a room full of strangers. Anyways, Dynamics are always important in conversations like knowing when to be enthusiastic and when to be chill so both parties will not be too exhausted at the end haha. But despite having a knowing a lot of people... I have a specific group of friends where I'm the most open to, and to them I only share my deepest thoughts and concerns. I'm actually quite picky with friends because "hi hello, ok bye" friendships ain't it.
    I hate deadlines. I cannot stick to a routine. Any tedious, mundane tasks bores me.. It's seen as inconsistency and lack of self of control but I JUST CANT SEEM TO STICK TO IT. I prefer flexible schedules or activities that allows for creativity and expression. I procrastinate yet I want to do so many things in life. I am a mess yet a perfectionist to an extent? an organized mess perhaps...??
    Lastly, I'm quite self-conscious, there will be times where I think that my extroversion is too much for others and I start to worry. Or, I share too much. But here's thing.. nothing excites me more when your introverted friends starts to open up too :3 Introverts are amazing.. sadly, they get misunderstood :( they just have a different way of vibing in life or recharging energy but it doesn't mean that they are no fun. Just be understanding yk. Embrace the silence.
    That's all.

But I mostly engage with them individually or within a group of 3 (only if the two are friends too). As we get older, we usually become more comfortable being ourselves, so you might have behaved more like you thought was expected of you before.
      I used to get typed ENTJ when I was younger, because feeling and perceiving types weren't valued in my family and so I adapted my behavior, which influenced my test answers.

    Learned that I am ENFP recently, it hit me like a hammer.
    The pros were pretty spot on, but the cons and challenges list was like having my soul bared. So accurate that it felt creepy.
    I know tons and tons of people, but only a handful that I really connect with.
    The latest person I got to know kinda clicked with me on our first date. We've met around ten times, usually at my place. We always talk for hours and hours, about really deep stuff. Same values and thoughts on life. I've never had these conversations with anybody. Ever.
    It was uncanny how seen I felt, and the depth of the emotional and intellectual connection we established.
    Sent her a link to a test.
    It came back INFJ.
    So, even though we are still dating, I feel very lucky to have met someone I can connect with in this way. I hope it will develop, but if not; I've had the most interesting conversations and the most fun I've ever had with anyone in my whole life.
    I'm content with having experienced that, no matter what happens next.
    In either case, I've made a friend for life. 😊

    So many people label us as their friends but it takes a lot to become one of our friends…. It sounds harsh, but… we care soo deeply and authentically that I think we sometimes don’t trust that others do the same for us. Also, we become the entertainers for so many other people that those “friendships “ become more draining than fulfilling at some point and we have to draw lines and be selective with the time we spend around the people that we entertain. I think my only few real friends have a balance where we both equally entertain, understand, and care for each other. I love all my “friends” and acquaintances that don’t fall into the close friend category, but I definitely am selective with what I share with them when it comes to my personal life, energy & time. I feel something pulling me away from certain people even when I truly do love them as people and think they are great. I just don’t enjoy always being the one with the encouragement and enthusiasm!

I have terrible lack of emphasis on deadlines and rules - and rather delegate administrative routine things to others unless it's a new interesting administrative task I've never done before. Dang.
