I will often suss out a new person by quipping a fairly cryptic deadpan joke or obscure reference - if they find it hilarious then I know they're on a similar wavelength. If I could have any superpower in the world for example, it would be China. Humour is my first port of call and I'll shoehorn it into any situation - the more irreverent the better.

I'm literally quitting my job because it's too stable and boring. Don't even have another job to go to, I just quit.
Gonna sign up with an agency to get some work and look elsewhere for an interesting job.
Been active in the stock market since 2018 and have gotten quite good at playing around on it. Same with cryptocurrency. Good enough that im making more money than I'm losing and I'm good enough that I know what I'm doing at least. Not good enough that I'm gonna make big bucks. So I figure I'll take a break from work for a couple of weeks and put more time into trading to see if I can earn a living off of it.
I'm totally not chaotic at all. It sounds chaotic, but there's a system in there. A plan. It's not me quitting my job with nowhere to go, it's me quitting my job to find opportunities.

The author of Jujutsu Kaisen, Gege Akutami, has said the character he hates most is Gojo- an ENTP. But ironically his staff has said that their personalities are carbon copies of e/o. JJK is very clearly written by an ENTP mind, its variety of subjects and topics. Ironically, the struggle of the main protagonist (an ISFP) which is defining his own sense of morality is very reflective of the blindspot of this type: Fi. The author left marks of their own psyche all over the series and I love that about it.

We should be thriving and enjoying every bit of cultures, lands, and frquencies that this earth gives us, as we are truely special, and we are created, and not some meaningless accident from nothing. I have yet to meet an entp who has the ability to review and revisit their thoughts once they've set their mind. It's absolutely frustrating, but I appreciate their honesty and I appreciate their straight forwardness especially at work environments. I would definitely go seek an ENTP in order to achieve a goal that I cannot accomplish on my own due to their absolute goal-focused approach. However, I strongly urge ENTPs to keep an open mind because nothing is absolute and perfection is cyclical.

I agree with most of what you said... but I don't really agree with ENTP's not being open minded. I am ENTP and I am almost too open minded. I think it only seems like they are not open minded because they are very debative. anything you say can turn into an argument because other types won't debate about just about anything it might come of as being resistant to change.
I've started suggesting to my friends that the debative side of me is not representative of my ideologies. just because I'm arguing a particulary side doesn't mean that it has any bearing on my personal life. Infact if your ENTP you'll notice that you play devil's advocate all the time especially in topics that are not serious. Something I've noticed I (I don't know if other ENTP's do this) is that someone starts a debate with me and it is about something that is purely opinion based( It doesn't have a correct answer) then I can easily debate for the other side of the argument, what I didn't used to notice is that the person you are arguing with might really be concerned with the result of the argument and take it seriously (in terms of their future decisions) while you are just arguing to play devil's advocate because you understand that the argument doesn't really matter. I personally hate groups and even the idea that people like being put in them. like if someones asked me if I was left wing or right wing or pro-feminism or anti-femminism I'd really not have an answer for them. I can answer more concrete questions about specific issues but not whether I'm in group A or group B.

Years ago, during a job retreat, the ENTPs were grouped together and we were given a task. I did not know many of the people in my group and none of them that well. The Group completed the Project after debate, analysis and a agreement synthesizing our points of view. However, We were the only group to ignore an important instruction which impacted the result the project organizers were seeking. None of us in the ENTP group saw it or thought it thought it mattered so it never came up. We were all focused on the big picture and how to achieve it.
We were men, women, Black, White, LatinX, ranging from 20s to 50. But we all ignored the same instruction without ever speaking a word about its existence or application. Weird but absolutely true.

I said that, during the course of our conversation, not one member of our group ever mentioned much less talked about the need to follow the same instruction. Instead, we just talked about a resolution to the problem. Finally, we were given the Briggs Meyers test before the retreat, so we were not put together randomly. • @metishan-9ol656
    @metishan-9ol656 2 ปีที่แล้ว +7

somethings i have noticed in entps a lot are that :
    1) Most of them come of as really nonchalant, calm and emotionless. When u see them from a distance u might stand there and think "what is even going on inside their head?". Which makes them seem quite mysterious and intriguing. I think its mostly bcs most of them keeping a blank face? They also tend to stay relatively very calm in anxious situations. Which makes them quite attractive but at the same time makes them seem irresponsible and unresponsive.
    2) They come off as restless. The urge to keep on moving, talking, twirling your hair, touching your head, shaking legs, etc. It depicts a lot of pent up energy in them. So i do recommend entps to indulge in physical activities or creative activities to use that stored energy more wisely.
    3) The urge to change your lifestyle every two mins. YES. I have noticed a lot of entps if not all that they tend to get bored of things very quickly. You provide them with one thing and the next moment u would see them being restless or complaining abt how boring it is. It makes them really fun at the same time bcs when left alone, entps tend to go around do things for fun which can attract many arround them bcs of their "go with the flow" attitude. But on the downside it can also come off as irresponsible and careless attitude. It might also make their career life tough bcs they got interest in millions of things at the same time and want to do everything. Which in turn fluctuates their interests in the present work or job they are provided with. Also entps would be the last one to be hired onto a 9-5 job.
    4) Chill attitude. Entps are smh known to be the most introverted extroverts. They can come off as really quite and observant at times. They tend to attract a lot of ppl bcs of their calm and chill persona. Entps are the type of ppl who u might see at the bar on a Sunday evening. Sipping a glass of drink while observing things around them and having ppl surround them. Entps are also not that easy to be provoked and if provoked, they might come off as bashing and violent (mostly through their words). Their calm and chill persona opens up the situation of them having 100s of friends or acquaintances. Most of the ppl would know them bcs entps tend to talk and communicate mostly with everyone. Making them a popular or a known person among ppl.
    5) Good story tellers. Most entps I have come over, they always have a way with their words. They might be just talking abt how their dog ran away or how their grandma came over last week. But they have a special way of saying things that makes the listeners indulge in and give them a sense of amusement. That's why most entps are suitable for teaching or counseling careers. They know how to make things seem exciting around them through their words. Which makes them very much of a good story teller. Same with arguing. Since they speak well. Most of the times they take over the arguments.
    6) Egocentric. Entps according to my observations are the types to be insecure but at the same time be really obsessed with themselves. They tend to have this image of self comfort. Most entps seem really comfortable in their own skin. Also they might try their best to hide their insecurities (which they are mostly quite successful in). Making them come off as really cool and perfect ppl who know how to carry themselves. These ppl are also very self observant and indulged. They can spend hours understanding what they like on themselves and what they don't. Which means they can often dress well and get diff good hairstyles. Entps tend to have this mentality that they are better than anyone (not all entps, most). Which also adds onto their competitive spirit in sports, arguments and mostly anything. Since they believe that they deserve the best.
    7) The last to hold grudges. Entps seem to believe in the motto "it is what it is". Even if they argue with someone, few mins after they would be back to being friendly bcs they don't believe in silent treatment and stuff like that ig. They tend to keep the past in the past and it seems that their main goal in life is to just have a good time.
Also i have observed that two entps together don't go well. They mostly end up fighting, arguing or cuss each other out. Entps really go well with infjs and infps.
Let me know if am right or wrong lol.

Yeah that chill pays as much as it fails depending on the situation; i've had promotions etc. because i've managed to chill-out and reorganise staff to optimal standards in high-pressure (FUBAR) scenarios... but then some people are like, "Ugh you just think everything is a joke" and overlook the fact i've out-performed some people by 400% because they don't actually look at the work, they just hear me joking around. Pretty infuriating at times because I don't like being 100% serious 100% of the time. I guess that means avoiding some types though. Dickheads, mainly.
Additionally, idk about egocentric. This might just be me, I get that there are much better & smarter people out there than me, at the same time i've had people blow smoke up my ass about things (A Special Air Service Reserves RSM and a RAF Reg. Flt. Sgt. saying I'm a natural born leader, Gary Rhodes saying I could be the next Gary Rhodes among others), but I really couldn't care less. I don't feel like a leader, I don't give a flying fook about being the next big thing, and as much as I say things like, "Every woman wants to nail me & those who say they don't are just in denial" and trash people as if i'm some sort of god, I actually don't mean it because I don't believe it. Personally, ultimately all that falls by the wayside 'cause it's all about the next challenge / adventure and learning new things.

As an entp, my worst enemy is losing my interest. When something engages my attenttion, I try to learn EVERYTHING about it. And when I'm done, there is nothing new to learn and I move on to the next thing.
I can also lose my interest and motivation pretty quickly at times:
I own a guitar and I can play like 7 songs, but I haven't touched it for 2 years, so I don't think I'm able to anymore.
I also own a skateboard. I learned some tricks with it, but I haven't used it since 2019.
I own a polaroid camera. I was supposed to get into photographing. You might guess how that went.
I thought it would be cool to knit. I actually did it for a year, but it has been several months now since then.
There was a time when I thought I should become an asmr youtuber. Now I have mic and all those cool stuff, but in January I thought it was a dumb idea and I don't wanna anymore.
I have several guide books. "How to paint with pastels" "Recognise different flowers" "Guide for bird watchers"
I have tons of unfinished fanfictions on different websites.
I thought I would become a professional macigian and bought some basic magic trick stuff. I don't even know where I put those.
I have played baseball, volleyball and football through my life. I have been in ballet and judo classes too. And I have been in an art club two times now.
There are also some abilities I have wanted to develope. I can write with my left hand, I'm good at pen spinning, I learned how to do a backflip, I know everything about world wars, I can walk on my hands, I memorized 100 digits of pi, I can make led-lamps (though the last led-lamp I made was in 2020, but I think I'm still able tho) and I can also speak 5 different languages.
I also like hyperfixating (I'm not sure if that's the right word for it) on videogames, tv-series, movies and book-series, so there are tons of things I know about those. However, since I lose my interest so easily, I always move to the next one and toss the old away.
Edit: sorry for my bad English

In the showing affection department people who have cats will understand more ENTPs, and I swear that I don't disappear in a planned way, when I usually do it, it's because I've spent too much time receiving all kind of stimilus and end up needing some time for myself to put all my thoughts in the right place, which actually happen in the background of my mind while I get distracted with stupid things.
Oh, and for new ENTPs thinking about careers, I've found a lot of pleasure in being a kindergarten teacher, my students average from 1 to 4 years and everyday my job is completly different from the last one, since kids brings new challenges everyday. You might have a hard time if you stumble on a school that's too restrict about your didactic method

I would personally recommend learning the cognitive functions yourself, in that order you can simply just rearrange whats dominant up to inferior to type yourself to get the results like for example: ne ti fe si (entp). You may have troubles about staying true to yourself so a very close friend might help a little but to get a better result it should come from you since you understand your thoughts and reasoning more than others

Gossip is an ENTJ trait. TPs talk about ideas and systems. Things and abstractions of things.

    • @glo1936
      @glo1936 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

@@ConernicusRex I mean thats a generalization to simplify things so I wouldn't use that as a universal idea. TPs conversations can easily turn into "gossiping" if they're discussing someones actions and possible reasons as to why they did it or their thought process while doing it. Or even just trying to understand the person and their actions in regards to their beliefs or psychological theories
Id agree with you if the person is talking about someone talking shit behind someones back... but gossip isn't really a strongly defined terms like that and people just tend to use it whenever someone is speaking about them when they're not around. Or they tend to take offence to the smallest things which would then turn it into "talking shit" I guess

I’d be interested to know if others do the below?
Even if I agree with someone’s belief about a topic I will argue the other side just to see if they or myself actually 1. Are passionate enough about their point of view to debate it. 2. To find out if they really thought about all sides before making up their mind. 3. It’s fun.
I also find that people think I have a lot of empathy for others, I don’t really, while I can easily put myself in their shoes (to some degree because it’s just like arguing a different side) I don’t find myself understanding the feelings they have at all.
