Bro, you talk a lot just to say a little. Love your work, but this sales pitch could have been reviewed and practiced a little better. The clickbait title was a step in the right direction, this video could have been at most 5 minutes long.
Awesome! Great to see this option fill the spot. I’ve been creating these kinds of “Power Patches” for our church’s worship songs since we are a trilingual and multicultural church and the available song patches didn’t always work for us. One thing I’d love to see the SK team work on is a fade-out from previous patch when switching them. Also a SOLO option for each of the 15 strips so when you choose a sound, you can easily solo it to adjust to your liking before hearing it in the whole mission with the rest and without having to slide all active sounds just to hear your selection by itself. SK Team, you have do an Amazing Job bringing this product to us. I’m originally not a keys player but I have to fill the spot and SK has been the biggest blessing for us and for me to fill all the space I need, and some. God bless you all!!!!
Yeah, a solo or a mute per Sound, assignable to snapshots without needing to just adjust the volume slider. Coming from guitar land, similar to Helix Snapshots where you just mute or add effects pedals, but in keyboard land, that's an entire "Sound". Guess I don't know if that already exists because we just pick patches that sound close and go. No time :D Will def be checking out Power Patches.
There is an option in the settings for time to fade previous patch. I changed it to the max between patches especially during key changes. Then I usually extend the time the tonic pad fades in , makes it transition really smoothly. Is that what you are looking for?
@@Baczekal480 that option doesn’t fade the previous patch, it only extends it out to 10sec and then abruptly ends. I’ve looked into that option. Thanks
To those who complain that this is nothing new: Yes, the programming behind it isn't new. What's new is that David provides now ready to play patches for church volunteers who can't or don't want to bother programming these complex patches. He actually revealed the 'secret' behind the song specific patches back in February 2019 in a video titled "How to Program Song Patches like Sunday Sounds!"
Many thx ! To be honest, it is exactly the way I designed my custom patches with au3, as it matches the way I use keys in worship. Snapshot having différents setting to add fullfilness is the way to go, and surnday keys a great tool for that, many thx !!!
I've been seeing what I believe will be a trend to move away from prerecorded or tracks. Celine Dion got caught lip syncing at the Olympics, and instead of people just saying, "of course she did, it was raining, “ it became something that people covered. I think people are going to start taking notice when what they see at church doesn't match what they hear, (as they should).
So from my understanding, the new product is called "Power Patches." It looks like it's a patch that essentially includes pre-programed snapshots that can be controlled via the modwheel to make it so that keyboard players can dynamically play in a more professional-sounding way, similar to what happens in a studio or live album recording. To clarify, in a studio setting / live album recording, not all the synth or piano sounds are playing ALL THE TIME (which is one big way the keys contribute so much dynamically to the over-all sound). The different layers are always coming in and out, get brighter and darker, delays or reverbs change, entire SOUNDS change sometimes, volumes go up and down, and this happens all throughout the recording for each individual sound. It makes the keys sound very professional and dynamic, but is really hard to replicate for the average Sunday musician! In a typical Sunday Keys layered patch, all the sounds are playing all the time and have none of those fine-tuned nuances unless the keyboard player wants to take the time to create their own snapshots, which can be difficult and VERY time-consuming. It looks like these "Power Patches" are aiming to help solve that problem by pre-programing the snapshots for us in a way that will fit many different songs or styles. At least that's my understanding / best guess! Hope this helps!
Am I missing something or is this nothing new? You could move Mod Wheel and Volume through Snapshots before this update too and I see nothing else happening here…
What’s new is the concept we’re applying to the expansion Patch Library, and how the programming is included in those Power Patches. All these features are available in the App, the Patch Library gives you all the programming done for you across a variety of vibes and genres.
It’s new and not new. To achieve the same result that are in the power patches, one has to spent a good amount of time time programming a single patch with arp, chord and rest of the program functions. For a volunteer this can be intimidating and not everyone has that MD insight to shape the song. So this fills that space.
Is it possible to buy the Power Patches and use them on the demo app? The reason I ask is because @ 11:00 you said “…and if you have an active Sunday Keys license…”
Just like Song Specific Patches and expansion Sound Libraries, you’ll need to have purchased a Sunday Keys License in order to use them in the app, you can’t just run the App in demo mode.
My fear is that over time the ultimate license will not feel so ultimate because you’ve got all these upsells being added in. The saving grace so far has been the addition of the AI patch creator.
Hey folks, this is the first time we’ve added an App sound library that isn’t included in Ultimate. The Ultimate License already includes over $300 a year in additional value over the Standard license when you account for 4x Ultimate Exclusives and 15 Song Patches each year. That being said, we’ve got some things we’re working on right now that we do plan for Ultimate License folks that will make it even more valuable! Stay tuned. Thanks for the support!
So I understand the idea. But I'm not seeing how you're triggering the changes. You're tapping something, but it's off screen. Is that your Korg midi controller? Or are you tapping something on the app itself? For those that don't understand what's special about power patches... Imagine being able to add an organ just for the final chorus to a song. If I want to do this, I have to set up a second keyboard with an organ sound. Then when the final chorus comes, I have to switch to the second keyboard. But it never sounds right because I lose all the sounds from the first keyboard. So then I have to add all the sounds of the first keyboard plus the organ sound to the second keyboard. But that still doesn't sound right because because it's a different keyboard and it just sounds different. Sure I could add an extra instrument track with the organ sound, and have it on mute and map the mute button so that I can turn it on or off, but that doesn't sound natural because usually you need the volume to gradually increase for the organ sound. I'm hoping power patches gives me the ability to add the organ and have it naturally swell into full volume!
Yes and a lot more. It adds lots of other instrument textures to fill your space, not only through the brightness of mod wheel but by adding actual instrument parts that compliment the song.
I still say you all at sundaykeys need to figure out how to do a monthly payment instead of $120 up front! You will have twice the membership you have now… but good insight in this video… Keep up the good works and forget about all those negative Nancys that don’t have anything good to say… Like my dad always taught me “ if you don’t have anything good to say just shut up!” 😊
You do realize we have the technology to offer both right? Most reputable companies offer both. I asked about monthly subscriptions because a lot of churches are suffering right now with low funds and i think it would be prudent to make this product available for all small, medium and big churches… But i guess again we show that everything is about me me me even in the Christian realm… smh
@@jimmyjamz7400 what you are saying can't work. And let me explain why. About 3 years ago, new versions of SK were released once a year as a new template to buy and use. You were to choose between Mainstage and Ableton template. Once a year, if you wanted it, you would acquire the new template, with new sounds, new features...etc. The template was about 120 USD. Then David decided to move to a year subscription model, during which he would dispense every month new sounds, instead of waiting a complete year before releasing them. If you were to cancel your subscription, you would keep everything you had acquire so far. The yearly sub is about 120 USD. Now will the app, yes he could do the monthly thing and if cut you completely the access once you're subscription expires, but he can't do that with mainstage. Because if he prices the monthly sub at, let''s say 10 USD, you would have people get the whole thing for 10 bucks and cancel their sub. At the end of the day Sunday Sound is a business and they need to prosper and live off their sales. Why is it that as soon as something is church related it has to be inexpensive or free? Besides, we are talking about 150 bucks. Even if you add the Ipad and a basic midi keyboard, it won't come even close to the price of a Nord Stage Piano... SK is a great solution of volunteers at church who don't want to bother diving deep into setting up complex keys rig. If someone is into that or has a need for more, I would argue that they are not the target user of Sunday Keys. For instance, if you look closely at the keys rig of Isaac Rodriguez, he doesn't use SK only. He uses SK just for the pads and runs additional plugins for keys and whatnot.

It’s our live keyboard software called Sunday Keys. Check the links in the description for all the details :)
I think i have to make a patching system for my reaper live project now D:

This feels like a missed opportunity to add even more value to the Ultimate Edition. The other exclusive libraries are fun but feel a bit niche.

Nothing wrong with how it's been done... just a different approach imho.
Where do we find the free ones? I updated my library but what are the names of the patches?
Same here.
you can sort by Recently Added in the Patch Browser or just search for “Power Patch” to check them out! :)

Power Patches use one of the most powerful features available in all Patches in the App- Snapshots with timed Snapshot Transitions.
