What’s up everyone! Thank you so much for the kind words, the likes, the subs and the comments! I read them all and I honestly appreciate your time. I used to be able to reply to everyone but now it’s starting to be a lot! Just know I notice all of you! I love you all! Thank you!
Floor Jansen has it all.Growling, operatic, metal, classical, pop, name it, she sings it flawlessly. She is very commanding, has a massive stage presence, she has it all.The band is epic.Storytime is my favourite song, but Romanticide and yours is an empty hope is good too. From the new album it is shoemaker.
Carlos, you definitely need to react on Floor Jansen & Henk Poort - Phantom of the Opera. I think it's the best version ever... Not only their voices, but also the music arrangement and even their body language on stage. The chemistry between them is amazing. Henk is an opera singer who is Floor's idol. She saw him singing in the opera when she was young. You can see they are both really enjoying it :-)
It's from the Dutch show Beste Zangers and you can find more songs performed by Floor there. * Vilja Lied * Que se siente * Mama * Shallow (with Tim Akkerman) It's all beautiful, I highly recommend it.
@@Grievance_Studies_Affair_2018 If we are talking about Nightwish. I would recommend Og phantom of the opera where Marko can sing as well... th-cam.com/video/8VgLKXD-BoY/w-d-xo.html
For Growling you should watch “ Yours is an empty hope” from Wembly. Romanticide is a much heavier song from the same show as the one you just watched.
I think the Nightwish Army is a bit caught up with listening to the new album which was just released, but they'll start flooding in soon with info and requests. Cheers!
haha, yes, there are so many videos to watch... because these guys released all the songs with lyric videos, are they crazy ?, too much to take in, in a day or two.
This is the 13th song of a 15 song set hence the small breaks , the stamina is amazing , shout out to the drummer thanks for mentioning this , every time is hear this my arms go mad LOL
You'll love Romanticide live at Wacken; and if you want to hear her growl, check out Yours Is An Empty Hope, live at Wembley. Floor Jansen is up there with Halford and Dio (I kid you not) and more versatile than both; possibly the technically most proficient metal vocalist ever. Here you heard about 15 percent of what she can do. She sings classical, jazz, ballads, growls, screams like it's nothing. There must be a reason why she's called Queen, Goddess, Valkyrie, or a combination thereof. Also, the band and its music. They often leave the boundaries of metal towards less heavy territory. They're humongously versatile and creative, and their songwriting is exceptional. If you're not afraid of excursions into softer and more proggy territory, you've hit the jackpot with this band. Think more romantic Devin Townsend or sexier/heavier Jethro Tull.
to answer what this guy is doing..... emmpu the guitarist ( and yes they only have one) plays when needed... does solo when needed and the rest of the time drinks pranks and jokes with band or audience ;)
I've watched a bunch of these reactions and had the same reaction as this guy, what is he doing? Always thought maybe he was getting the rest of the band back on some sort of rhythm or back on queue so to speak. Sucks that it doesn't actually mean anything...
I believe this was because they hired Floor to finish the tour when Anette left all of a sudden. She knew Nightwish but not all the songs. She had to learn them for this gig! I think the guitarplayer walks around to pinch the rest "can you believe this".
Hello, Carlos Wade! Nightwish Army incoming here, your reaction just appeared on our radar.. Apreciate your honest reaction. The good news are this band cover several musical paths inside metal, so you'll find for sure something for your taste.. Since this is your first Nightwish experience, I'll give you the short history of the band concentrated by Ann Waychoff, one of the biggest Nightwish fan: " Nightwish was started in 1996.They are considered a female fronted symphonic metal band. They are from Finland. Tuomas Holopainen, the keyboard player, composes and writes the lyrics for 95% of their music. Marco Hietala is the Bassist and vocals .And there is the guitarist Emppu Vuorinen . Then there is Troy Donockley from UK who is a multi-instrulmentalist and vocals. Jukka Nevalainen is the drummer. In 2015 due to Jukka's health issues Kai Hahto became the drummer and as of now is a permanent addition. Nightwish has had three singers. 1st one was Tarja Turunen (Operatic vocals). She was with them until 2005. The 2nd one was Anette Olzon from Sweden (Poppy, strong vocals). She was with them until 2012.The 3rd and current singer is Floor Jansen, from Netherlands (power, operatic, soprano.....most versatile) - you just heard her. There are live concerts that you should use depending on what era. From Wishes to Eternity and End of an Era (Tarja), Montreux Festival live 2012 and Exit Festival (Anette), Live at Wacken 2013, Live at Wembley, Live at Tampere, Vehicle of Spirit, Decades live (Floor). I hope this helps. I want to welcome you to the Nightwish community. I hope you like them enough to continue the journey. Believe me Nightwish will surprise you with their songs. You will never know what to expect. They are unbelievable live. I want to warn you that Nightwish fans are hard core. So be prepared. lol " Other Nightwish songs with the current lineup of the band you may like: "Song Of Myself" live at Wacken 2013 (dark/metal) th-cam.com/video/lQu5QjidHWg/w-d-xo.html "Storytime" live at Wacken 2013 (uplifting vocals) th-cam.com/video/pvkYwOJZONU/w-d-xo.html "Ever Dream" live at Wacken 2013 (uplifting vocals) th-cam.com/video/YwGSAFarHRg/w-d-xo.html "Romanticide" live at Wacken 2013 (metal) th-cam.com/video/zz_7OCCQlXs/w-d-xo.html "Dead Boy's Poem" - live Buenos Aires 2018 (soulful ballad) th-cam.com/video/S8E3L7ggLMM/w-d-xo.html "My Walden" live at Wembley 2015 (celtic / folk) th-cam.com/video/knqeI807ZlY/w-d-xo.html "Sleeping Sun"live at Tampere 2015 (ballad) th-cam.com/video/rsotlzr9wNw/w-d-xo.html "Stargazer" live at Tampere 2015 (operatic vocals / metal) th-cam.com/video/NhEuAPYm_Ug/w-d-xo.html "Slaying The Dreamer" live at Buenos Aires 2018 (metal) th-cam.com/video/wA44tjaP5n0/w-d-xo.html "I Want My Tears Back" live at Buenos Aires 2018 (celtic / folk vibe) th-cam.com/video/B1UjgozeIPQ/w-d-xo.html And if you want to hear Floor growling :) then try "Yours Is An Empty Hope" live at Wembley 2015 th-cam.com/video/vyLsU7Q333k/w-d-xo.html Last but not the least - they just released their 9th studio album last night named "Human :||: Nature" - just take a peek to their official playlist: th-cam.com/play/PLihZ3gi5Yvzc0pfH2cbNKUUX8o3pb8eVg.html You can also react to Floor Jansen's performances in Beste Zangers 2019 (TV show from Netherlands), here is a playlist made by Floor herself (start listen it in reverse order..): th-cam.com/video/plCScjvDOJM/w-d-xo.html Thank you! Waiting for more Nightwish reactions. All the best from RO. Stay safe.
Greetings from California! You, my fellow Nightwish Soldier have been given a field promotion; you are now the official Nightwish Ambassador. Congrats! Outstanding job Gabriel Bardac! Great band history summation and superb newcomer recommendations. Wouldn't change a thing. Cheers!
This never gets old. Juuka grooving on his TAMA double-base set, Emppu driving the rhythm in his signature ESP EV-1, Marco giving us epic base lines in his Warwick Buzzard, Tuomas sharing his genius on his KORGs and Floor leading the crowd like a modern-day 6-foot 1-inch Valkyrie and seducing like a siren. They are all at the top of the talent tree. Each one alone could lead a band into greatness let alone all five of them. One of the best live performances of all time. Not only musically but staging and production is unmatched.
This is how it all starts - first they give Ghost Love Score just to try it, you try it and you like it. You wanna try again something similar just to see what you missed the first time. And then you get on Nightwish Army's radar with their relentless marketing and they start selling you more and more. And it's more of what you actually like because let's face it - Nightwish has it all. And before you realize you are hooked! It happened to many reaction channels, believe me :D If you like her heavy side you should definitely check Romanticide and Yours is and Empty Hope. You will be surprised of what she is capable of ... Be safe and enjoy the band :)
Amp Answer: Emppu uses Mesa/Boogie Triple Rectifiers with an ESP custom shop version of the Horizon known as the EV-1 Love that you recognised how epic teh drumming is on this track :) everyone concentrates on Floor but Jukka nailed this performance.
He's been using a Kemper Profiler for a number of years now, at least since the time of this vid(2015), whether he still is, dunno. Don't see why not, when you have a Kemper, no need for anything else. -> th-cam.com/video/6dhSkfbHXJc/w-d-xo.html
Live Wacken 2013 also reacts: - Romanticide - Everdream - Storytime - Ghost River - Song of Myself and also react to Floor at Revamp - Disdain Live 2010
You got floorgasmed....floor jansen the best singer in the world ( and most versatile)👍🤘.......next would be floor janse en henk poort phantom of the opera( beste zangers 2019)🙀
Haha well...i want it too...guess we all want/need this one...together with all of their other songs lol 😁🤘🎤🥁🎸🎹🎛🎶🤘 but this (Song of myself) is my absolute fav Nightwish song (damnnn and that ''Epic' end of it...Floor- and Nightwish''gasms'' all over ''again'' haha). 🤘🎶🤘🥁
I must admit i haven't heard Song of Myself that often before. Sure it is a good Song, but it is certainly not my Favorite of them. For that, The Poet and the Pendulum is just too strong
Nightwish's reportoir is very versatile every song is different and they go from metal to any genre you can think off etc, really a must to check more out and you will fall in love with this band, next please Song of Myself same concert at Wacken
Best method for reacting to Nightwish that I figured from watching reactors and discovering them recently and exploring their catalog myself: Keep the particularly long and complex songs listed below, if you have not watched them already, for after you have seen all the more standard ones from the 4 live shows mentioned in the numbered list: - Ghost Love Score (Wacken) 10 minutes - The Poet and the Pendulum (Wembley) 14 minutes - Greatest Show on Earth (Tampere) 21 minutes 1- Just do all the Wacken 2013 songs, they are all great 2- Then the Wembley 2015 ones that are not part of the Wacken show 3- Then the remaining songs from Tampere 2015 that were not in the previous 2 shows mentioned 4- Then the older songs from Buenos Aires 2019 that were not in the previous 3 shows mentioned 5- To see what they can do with a cover and if you like Marco's singing, watch their interpretation of Pink Floyd's High Hopes 5- Then you can explore Floor's versatility with her band ReVamp's live performances of the songs Disdain at Graspop and Wild Card at Bloodstock 6- And finally go in the deep end of the Floor talent pool by reacting to her performances on Beste Zangers in the order the episodes aired From watching a lot of reactions, in my opinion this is the most efficient order to discover the rabbit hole that is Nightwish and Floor Jansen. That should keep you busy for a while. 😀
Well for growls there's yours an empty hope but its very subtle. I say go for Ghost River where the bassist says hello or storytime which is just amazing. Both from same live show as this, Wacken 2013.
Very nice reaction dude. These guys are amazing and Floor Jansen has the most incredible versatility in her voice. You’ll love this journey mate, I assure you.
It's good that you appreciate Jukka's drumming :) sadly he's no longer performing with the band due to illness but he's still working with them behind the scenes. The current drummer is Kai Hahto who is also a fantastic drummer. Going with the rest of the Nightwish Army here - I suggest Romanticide - live at Wacken next (same show). You'll also like Yours Is an Empty Hope - Live at Wembley where you can hear Floor (the main vocalist) do death growls.
@@shahman76 He had to step away due to health issues (chronic insomnia). He's still involved with the band in a management capacity, and during a Q&A, Floor said he's doing fantastic now :)
You want Floor growls....”Yours is an Empty Hope” is the one! This is their feature lead singer song, most are harder than this one, you haven’t seen hardly anything she can do yet! Marks the bassist has quite a voice too!
Song of myself, Ever Dream, Romanticide,7 days to the Wolves, Story time etc anything from Wacken the sound is great but other shows too Wembley, Tampere etc
That’s what nightwish does with most of their music, they do a lot of transitions to draw you in , and Floor Jansen is amazing. Thanks 😊 you should check out floor Jansen out in revamp her band before nightwish if you want to hear her do more growling.
you are very entertaining to watch, you appreciate the music, you are not OTT annoying and you come across as normal, weird as it sounds, it is a plus in my book. Welcome to beautiful , wonderful world of Nightwish, take a deep breath and dive in....I will be along for the ride
Everdream will give you a taste of Marco. I promise you after you listen to it you will want to hear more of him. The contrast in their voices is beyond remarkable. Remember Everdream is a tease of what Marco can do. I'm new to Nightwish also, about a year now, hope you enjoy them as much as I do.
You just summoned the Nightwish Army!) Thank you for sharing your reaction! Well, you've just witnessed Her Majesty Northern Valkyrie Goddess Floor Jansen (pronounced Yansen, she is Dutch). She has classical background, rock academy behind, and used to be a vocal coach for a number of years. She is a very versatile singer and can sing anything from more pop-y style, classic opera, to metal screams and growls. Floor is the most versatile and powerful female singer today. And she is really tall, I mean 6'1 + hills. Nightwish is a Finland symphonic metal band formed in 1996. Floor joined Nightwish in 2012 in the middle of a world tour, and before that they had Anette as a frontwoman, and before Anette - Tarja (Tar-ya). For Floor it was first really big gig with NW, 82K people, at the time she was only for a few month with the band. The bassist with a cool beard is Marco, and he sings some parts too. The mastermind behind 99% of lyrics and music is a keyboardist Tuomas. Guitarist name is Emppu, and the drummer in this show is Jukka (Yukka), but later he was replaced by Kai Hahto because of health issues. Flutes/uilleann pipes/guitar/vocals - Troy, he did not perform in this song. Nightwish is better live, always, so if live performance is available, go for it. In their performances, they often using recorded backtrack of a classical orchestra for their songs. They have very diverse music, from more light songs to epic scores like this, and to really heavy metal stuff. For the next step, I can suggest listening to: - for her growling: Yours Is An Empty Hope @ Wembley 2015 - for move heavy: Ghost River, Song Of Myself, both from the same Wacken 2013 - for Floor flexing her vocals: Storytime from Wacken 2013 also - If you want to explore more Floor versatility, check out her performances on a TV show Beste Zangers in 2019. You just starting your journey with Nightwish, and be prepared to be surprised (and sometimes shocked) time and time again! Their music is very emotional and diverse. Greetings from Moscow and stay safe! :)
Nightwish, like most successful bands, has gone through phases of growth and musicianship that I find truly inspiring. The first vocalist, Tarja Turunen, set the bar for their female led operatic signature sound. Early Nightwish classics featuring Tarja include; Phantom of the Opera, Ghost Love Score, and I Wish I Had An Angel. Their second vocalist, Annette Olzon had a really good sound, but she wasn't Tarja, and everyone knew it. In my opinion, Amaranth was her best song. Current lead vocalist is Floor Jansen, and in my opinion, she is (until she retires or is otherwise replaced) THE vocal gold standard in the genre of symphonic metal. Floor is the one you reacted to in the live setting of Wacken 2013, Ghost Love Score. I'm going to include links that will showcase their individual styles and abilities within the Nightwish framework. "Phantom of the Opera" (Live) w/ Tarja: th-cam.com/video/8VgLKXD-BoY/w-d-xo.html "Amaranth" official video w/ Annette: th-cam.com/video/GdZn7k5rZLQ/w-d-xo.html "Elan" official video w/ Floor: th-cam.com/video/zPonioDYnoY/w-d-xo.html
Great reaction! I subbed at once 😊👌🏼 The drummer is insane Listened alot to them when i was in high school ( i’m a 1984 model ) When they had the original amazing vocalist Tarja ❣️ I now listen to other stuff, but i still love this song ! The band is beyond great live 🔥🙌🏼 Greetings from The Viking Shieldmaiden from Norway 🇳🇴😊
Check out Nightwish: "The greatest show on Earth". This will kick your butt... But you gotta know about the song, too, so either you watch it with subtitles or research the song first. What it's about and what the lyrics are. Promise you, it will be worth every second of that 20 min (!!) song... ;-)
I just found you tonight...11-30-2020! I found Nightwish back in June or July...and I am hooked! I have listened to so many of their songs and they're all freekin'amazing. My favorites are, "I want my Tears Back"...."Romanticide"..... A slower, more emotional song, "The Poet and the Pendulum"...." The Greatest Show on Earth "...heck..no matter what you pick.….It's good!
Fans hardly ever recognize Jukka's job in the drums (when he was in NW). Thanks, Carlos, for mentioning him. He is a great drummer. Floor is amazing, of course, but the real reason NW is so good and powerful is that EVERYBODY in that band, not only the singer, is massively talented.
I I am a 70-year-old senior citizen, lifelong musician, play guitar and drums. and I have been to many many great concerts over the years, but among the best ever was Nightwish in 2015 and 2018. They are amazing live. Floor Jansen is one of the best singers anywhere. The musicianship of the group is superb. You’ll be hearing from the so-called Nightwish army. At the moment we are preoccupied enjoying their brand new album, which is awesome. I’m glad to see from the comments that you are aware of it. New subscriber.
Song of Myself, Ghost River and Romanticide from the same Wacken live 2013 you will totally dig. Floor will please you for sure with a Floorgasm or two. Nightwish army coming your way. Their catalogue is impressive and will give you many facets, all great. Their songs are never repetitive or similar even. I think you’ll be impressed. 🤟🤟🤟✌️✌️✌️
Them being symphonic metal allows them to take their music in several different directions. They have the long epic multipart full production type songs like Ghost Love Score, The Poet and the Pendulum or The Greatest Show on Earth.. Then they have several of the more classic thrash heavy metal style songs like Romanticide, Song of Myself or Dark Chest of Wonders.. They even have a very celtic rock sound going on in songs like E'lan or My Walden.. You chose, but the Nightwish Army loves it all..
Floor's voice can do every genre there is, she has so much control over her voice, it's unbelievable. This band is the best live performing band, that i know of.
Floor is unigue, because she got unbeleavebel sound control and same she get so much emotion with her singing. And she is good storyteller also🥴. Than you. You really enjoying this!
Started off like you and have become a huge Nightwish fan in the last month. If you haven't yet hit Poet and the Pendulum, definitely worth a watch! Side note...like The Star on the chair. #Cowboys2021
I'm sure you'll end up with a million suggestions, but my own is to check out Storytime from this same concert (or well any song from this concert, they're all great). Storytime has an amazing drum piece in the middle of it.
Wow, my Nightwish Army comrades, don't bury the guy; he's new, give him some warm-up time. Look, Carlos, just grab a copy of the the video Nightwish (lyrical) made at the Wacken 2013 Festival, a set of good quality headphones, get comfortable and experience the ride. Simple. Cheers!
Awesome!! Definitely a huge amount of choices to come forward. Song of Myself, Ghost River, Romanticide, Storytime (all from the same concert) and to see the musicality of them, check out their rendition of Pink Floyd's High Hopes (Pre-Floor, but incredible musicianship and Marco's (bass player) vocals are incredible!! Have fun on the Nightwish journey!! :)
I've been a Nightwish fan since 1998. This singer is Floor Jansen and is the third lead vocalist the band have had. The first was Tarja Turunen, the second was Anette Olzon. Videos I would recommend are: Last Ride of the Day Ghost River. Floor showing her more grittier vocals. The Poet and the Pendulum (Live at Wembley) The Greatest Show on Earth (Live in Tampere) I Wish I Had An Angel While Your Lips Are Still Red (Live at Wembley) The Kinslayer
New Nightwish Army recruit here! I have not heard a song from Nightwish that I haven't liked or loved. Floor is the best metal vocalist I have ever heard, she has absurd range and complete control. Tarja is awesome too and I haven't actually heard any of Anette's singing yet. One of my favorite bands of all time. Welcome to the world of Nightwish, enjoy the ride.
Welcome to the Nightwish Army 😁 Their first new album in 5 years just hit & you need to hear TRIBAL 😈 Also plan on checking out Slaying the Dreamer & Devil & thé Deep Dark Ocean (both live in Buenos Aires), Ghost River, Yours is an Empty Hope, Romanticide, Seven Days to the Wolves I Want My Tears Back, and (for the drums) Storytime, and a truly awesome instrumental called Last of the Wilds - All live performances. You’ll DEFINITELY need to watch the live video of The Poet and the Pendulum live from Wembly, but do a little research first about the lyrics, the meaning, and why it was written. Also, it’s one of very few Nightwish songs with a pretty hard copyright block, so let yourself sink down deep into it for your own appreciation, but understand you won’t get a reaction video to stay up. By the way, Marko (their bass player) just released his first solo album, so look for the album Pyre of the Black Heart by Marko Hietala and check out all the tracks, but my favorites are Stones and Death March for Freedom 👍 A couple last thoughts for right now about Nightwish... Floor is a 6’2” tall Viking Valkyrie Siren who sings anything she wants because there’s nothing she cannot sing. She’s classically trained and is a voice coach. Tuomas is a composer who can stand with any other in history. Kai seems to be unstoppable on drums. Emppu is a court jester with an electric guitar that bends to his will without effort. Marko can sing as well as anyone anywhere and play perfect bass while doing it. Troy seems to be able to play just about any instrument that falls into his hands. Each is immensely talented and together they weave magic 😎 Thanks again for another great reaction and I’ll be subscribing for more 👍 Stay safe and keep rocking 🎸 🤘
Floor Jansen (singer) can do it all. She's out of this world. She can growl. She can do distortion. She can sing super clean. She can sing pop. She can sing opera. And anything in between. I bet you'll enjoy 'Yours is an empty hope' with Floor growling in the chorus. And 'Romanticide'. Both a bit heavier. #NightwishArmy
Subscribed. Great reaction. Like others have already stated, Nightwish released a new album yesterday, so most fans are currently immersed in that but I'm sure they'll be finding your channel soon and inundating you with info and requests! If you wish something heavier then Romanticide from this concert is good or if you really want some growls then Yours Is An Empty Hope from Wembley is the one!
You have officially been FLOORED! She is the very embodiment of this band now. The other two singers do not match up to Floor Jansen. And it's about time someone actually pays attention to Jukka's drumming skill. He's almost my favorite. And that's coming from a HUGE Vinnie fan. And John Otto. Sad he had to quit the band due to insomnia issues. Hope he comes back. Loved the reaction.
The army has been summoned. Another great song by Nightwish is The Greatest Show on Earth. And one I rarely see recommended but a personal favorite of mine is Wish I had an Angel.
Hey Carlos. Already, you noticed the drums. Here, you hear Jukka Nevalainen, the original drummer. However, he has, at the current time, stepped down from drumming duties (though he is involved with the business side of the band). The reason is a 3-year running battle with insomnia, which, after this tour in 2013, he felt was threatening his health. He stepped down officially in 2015, getting Kai Hahto of WinterSun to take over drumming duties. In 2019, before COVID, Tuomas Holopainen, in an interview with a French metal magazine, alluded to a possible return of Jukka to the drums. In Tuomas' words, Jukka felt like a kid on a rollercoaster, wanting to get back into it, after being absent for so long. He also said that Jukka was somewhat anxious about things, not knowing if he still could play. Jukka played at least two small shows in Europe, playing Last Ride of the Day. And while I respect Kai for stepping up for a friend and brother, I feel his style is more rushed than Jukka's, while his equipment is more muted than Jukka's, especially the double-kick bass drums. Jukka played Tama drums, while Kai plays Pearl. Glad to see you enjoyed this reaction to GLS -- and if you want, I highly recommend watching the entire Wacken 2013 concert! If you do, you'll see why Wacken 2013 is the best concert ever recorded.
Jukka Nevalainen on drums! BEAST!... Stepped aside, into Nightwish admin role, due to severe insomnia.... Kai Hahto is now Nightwish drummer (Ex-Wintersun) and is a fitting replacement.
Jukka (Yukka) Nevalainen is a monster of a drummer in the very best meaning of that word. He slays it. His finale is so epic I get goosebumps every time. Emppu Vuorinen the solo guitarist is splendid. Marco Hietala the bass guitarist is mindblowing. Floor Jansen (pronounced as Yansen) the frontwoman is the metal valkyrie who takes you out of this world. And Tuomas Holopainen the mastermind and the keyboards is the GENIUS. Nightwish is one of a kind. You`ll never hear similar verbatim songs from them. Each and every one is unique. Welcome to the Nightwish army!
Biggest hit in the feels with Nightwish : "Poet and the Pendulum" and "The Greatest Show on Earth" BEWARE they both are long videos (14' and 24' long) but worth a while. If you want more grit (screaming) I suggest Phantom of the Opera and Pharaoh sails to Orion (the last one is with their first singer but still Nightwish and still gorgeous). Marco Hietala on the Phantom and Tapio Wilska on the Pharaoh (GREAT BASS VOICE and that primal grit, gosh! Gives me the goosebumps each time)
You got a sub for not pausing every 30 seconds. I am sure that some making react vids like their own voice over the performance. I also enjoyed that you stuck to what you know and did not try to be judgemental the other stuff. This is the first of your videos that I have seen so I retain the right to change my opinion ;). Good stuff.
Welcome to the Nightwish party brother! Great reaction. Listen to the Nightwish Army, they won't lead you astray:) I think you'd like Ghost River from this same show (Wacken 2013) shows much of Floors vocal diversity with a little Marko ( bassist/backing vocals) thrown in for flavor
What’s up everyone! Thank you so much for the kind words, the likes, the subs and the comments! I read them all and I honestly appreciate your time. I used to be able to reply to everyone but now it’s starting to be a lot! Just know I notice all of you! I love you all! Thank you!

So you are telling me that floor sang along with dio alive? Shes the vocalist in nightwish since 2012. Dio died in 2010
@@kkpiemels3113 No... he did a comparison. That's it. He said that she's on par with Dio and Halford, and more versatile than both of them.
this may be the best description of Floor and Nightwish I've ever read.
@@kkpiemels3113 English comprehension is definitely not your thing.
to answer what this guy is doing..... emmpu the guitarist ( and yes they only have one) plays when needed... does solo when needed and the rest of the time drinks pranks and jokes with band or audience ;)
I've watched a bunch of these reactions and had the same reaction as this guy, what is he doing? Always thought maybe he was getting the rest of the band back on some sort of rhythm or back on queue so to speak. Sucks that it doesn't actually mean anything...
@@drob841 It means the band chemistry is awesome!
I believe this was because they hired Floor to finish the tour when Anette left all of a sudden. She knew Nightwish but not all the songs. She had to learn them for this gig! I think the guitarplayer walks around to pinch the rest "can you believe this".
@@mjoezic3198 yeah, looks like some kind of bonding ritual )))
Hello, Carlos Wade! Nightwish Army incoming here, your reaction just appeared on our radar.. Apreciate your honest reaction. The good news are this band cover several musical paths inside metal, so you'll find for sure something for your taste.. Since this is your first Nightwish experience, I'll give you the short history of the band concentrated by Ann Waychoff, one of the biggest Nightwish fan:
" Nightwish was started in 1996.They are considered a female fronted symphonic metal band.
So be prepared. lol "

Thank you! Waiting for more Nightwish reactions. All the best from RO. Stay safe.
good job
@@paisa20 Thanks.
HAIL GABRIEL OUR NIGHTWISH AMBASSADOR.
Greetings from California! You, my fellow Nightwish Soldier have been given a field promotion; you are now the official Nightwish Ambassador. Congrats! Outstanding job Gabriel Bardac! Great band history summation and superb newcomer recommendations. Wouldn't change a thing. Cheers!
Good list, but I miss The Poet and the Pendulum
This never gets old. Juuka grooving on his TAMA double-base set, Emppu driving the rhythm in his signature ESP EV-1, Marco giving us epic base lines in his Warwick Buzzard, Tuomas sharing his genius on his KORGs and Floor leading the crowd like a modern-day 6-foot 1-inch Valkyrie and seducing like a siren. They are all at the top of the talent tree. Each one alone could lead a band into greatness let alone all five of them. One of the best live performances of all time. Not only musically but staging and production is unmatched.
The only woman who has brought me to tears with song.
I love watching others react to this band and song for the first time. Music is an emotional event and this is surely one.
Army is here. "Romanticide" "song of myself". I'll be waiting.
haha
absolutly:)
2nd song of myself. Also greatest show in earth. Amaranth, bye bye beautiful.... So many....
..and Storytime Wacken rulez too!
It happened to many reaction channels, believe me :D
If you like her heavy side you should definitely check Romanticide and Yours is and Empty Hope. You will be surprised of what she is capable of ...
Be safe and enjoy the band :)
Next react to "Romanticide" Official live video or "Storytime" live at wacken 2013!!!
Amp Answer: Emppu uses Mesa/Boogie Triple Rectifiers with an ESP custom shop version of the Horizon known as the EV-1
Love that you recognised how epic teh drumming is on this track :) everyone concentrates on Floor but Jukka nailed this performance.
He's been using a Kemper Profiler for a number of years now, at least since the time of this vid(2015), whether he still is, dunno. Don't see why not, when you have a Kemper, no need for anything else. -> th-cam.com/video/6dhSkfbHXJc/w-d-xo.html
I’ve watched this performance a hundred times and still get goosebumps
Live Wacken 2013 also reacts:
- Romanticide
- Everdream
- Storytime
- Ghost River
- Song of Myself and also react to Floor at Revamp - Disdain Live 2010
Flamerda
Just do the whole Concert WOA 2013 xD There is not a single bad performance
Prefiro a Tarja. Ela alcança espaços que a Floor nem tenta. Floor é uma ótima vocal mas acho que a Traja é o nome. O que acha?
You got floorgasmed....floor jansen the best singer in the world ( and most versatile)👍🤘.......next would be floor janse en henk poort phantom of the opera( beste zangers 2019)🙀
Romanticide, and Ghost River would be ones to check out. The whole Wacken 2013 concert is perfection!!
“Song of Myself” from the same show.
Ignore the other suggestions. This is the one you want/need.
No one talks about that drummer enough. You noticed.
Nightwish's reportoir is very versatile every song is different and they go from metal to any genre you can think off etc, really a must to check more out and you will fall in love with this band, next please Song of Myself same concert at Wacken
Best method for reacting to Nightwish that I figured from watching reactors and discovering them recently and exploring their catalog myself:
Keep the particularly long and complex songs listed below, if you have not watched them already, for after you have seen all the more standard ones from the 4 live shows mentioned in the numbered list:
- Ghost Love Score (Wacken) 10 minutes
- The Poet and the Pendulum (Wembley) 14 minutes
- Greatest Show on Earth (Tampere) 21 minutes
1- Just do all the Wacken 2013 songs, they are all great
2- Then the Wembley 2015 ones that are not part of the Wacken show
3- Then the remaining songs from Tampere 2015 that were not in the previous 2 shows mentioned
4- Then the older songs from Buenos Aires 2019 that were not in the previous 3 shows mentioned
5- To see what they can do with a cover and if you like Marco's singing, watch their interpretation of Pink Floyd's High Hopes
5- Then you can explore Floor's versatility with her band ReVamp's live performances of the songs Disdain at Graspop and Wild Card at Bloodstock
6- And finally go in the deep end of the Floor talent pool by reacting to her performances on Beste Zangers in the order the episodes aired
From watching a lot of reactions, in my opinion this is the most efficient order to discover the rabbit hole that is Nightwish and Floor Jansen.
Kai....he damn sure is another fantastic drummer..
Jukka's drumming -> th-cam.com/video/pvkYwOJZONU/w-d-xo.html
What happened to Jukka?
@@shahman76 He had to step away due to health issues (chronic insomnia). He's still involved with the band in a management capacity, and during a Q&A, Floor said he's doing fantastic now :)
You want Floor growls....”Yours is an Empty Hope” is the one! This is their feature lead singer song, most are harder than this one, you haven’t seen hardly anything she can do yet! Marks the bassist has quite a voice too!
Romanticide for a heavier NW song. "Song of Myself" or "Ghost River" for Floor growls.
Any song from that concert is pure gold (Wacken 2013), Wembly, Tempre and Buenos Aires are also awesome! You cannot go wrong with Floor.
They call it a Foorgasm. Floor Jensen makes me have a girl crush. Unbelievable
I love floorfasms!
you are very entertaining to watch, you appreciate the music, you are not OTT annoying and you come across as normal, weird as it sounds, it is a plus in my book. Welcome to beautiful , wonderful world of Nightwish, take a deep breath and dive in....I will be along for the ride
You wanna hear Floor growl??? It has to be yours is an empty hope. But any song from Wacken will blow you away in one way or another!
Don't forget about "Disdain (Live at Graspop)" by Floor's earlier band Revamp.
For the next step, I can suggest listening to:
- for her growling: Yours Is An Empty Hope @ Wembley 2015
- for move heavy: Ghost River, Song Of Myself, both from the same Wacken 2013
- for Floor flexing her vocals: Storytime from Wacken 2013 also
- If you want to explore more Floor versatility, check out her performances on a TV show Beste Zangers in 2019.
You just starting your journey with Nightwish, and be prepared to be surprised (and sometimes shocked) time and time again! Their music is very emotional and diverse.
Greetings from Moscow and stay safe! :)
The Poet and the Pendulum, live at Wembley! You should react to this!
Way too soon!
Might get copyrighted others have been lately.
You wewe one of few who pointed out what superb job the drummer pulls of
Growling: Yours is an empty hope
The devil and the deep blue ocean (high energy, incredible drums!)
The poet and the pendulum (just great..)
Thank you for reacting to GLS - Nightwish fan.
The drum kit pressed charges on jukka after that performance for assault and battery.

I agree , Amaranth it's a great song for Annette. and she nails it.
The drummer is from another planet
Nightwish's "Poet and the Pendulum" and "Storytime" are great. Welcome to the Nightwish Army.
AWESOME !
Part of the army reporting in! Looking forward to more Nightwish, thanks for reacting it to them!
Great reaction, they have material for everyone.
"The Poet and the Pendulum" from their Wembley Tour. That song is one of their best. Also check out "The Greatest Show on Earth" also from Wembley.
Simple. Cheers!
Haha it’s all good man. We all have to start somewhere. I’ve got thick skin. But I’ll check out the whole thing for sure! Thanks for the suggestion!
Song of Myself next please! :)
Nightwish is the No1 symphonic metal band. I follow them since 1998 and yesterday they just released one more exellent album !!!!!!!
She's Floor... She ALWAYS gets any note!
I've been a Nightwish fan since 1998. This singer is Floor Jansen and is the third lead vocalist the band have had. The first was Tarja Turunen, the second was Anette Olzon.
Videos I would recommend are:
Last Ride of the Day
Ghost River. Floor showing her more grittier vocals.
The Poet and the Pendulum (Live at Wembley)
The Greatest Show on Earth (Live in Tampere)
I Wish I Had An Angel
While Your Lips Are Still Red (Live at Wembley)
The Kinslayer
Romanticide next, please. Nice reaction. Looked like you really appreciated the whole package. Can't wait to see more.
Scaretale and The Escapist are perfect Anette songs
Welcome to the Nightwish Army 😁
Their first new album in 5 years just hit & you need to hear TRIBAL 😈 Also plan on checking out Slaying the Dreamer & Devil & thé Deep Dark Ocean (both live in Buenos Aires), Ghost River, Yours is an Empty Hope, Romanticide, Seven Days to the Wolves I Want My Tears Back, and (for the drums) Storytime, and a truly awesome instrumental called Last of the Wilds - All live performances.
By the way, Marko (their bass player) just released his first solo album, so look for the album Pyre of the Black Heart by Marko Hietala and check out all the tracks, but my favorites are Stones and Death March for Freedom 👍
A couple last thoughts for right now about Nightwish... Each is immensely talented and together they weave magic 😎
Thanks again for another great reaction and I’ll be subscribing for more 👍 Stay safe and keep rocking 🎸 🤘
That last scream at the end..goosebumps and a rush threw my body.
A Floorgasm!
You got already enough suggestions for song. I liked your reaction so I subbed for more Nightwish reactions to come. 💕🤘
Now this is a reaction ! One listens, and makes facial reactions. THAN comments. Nicely done !
Awesome thanks! Vote for Nightwish Ever Dream - same live concert!
Most people reacting to Nightwish focus on the vocals and ignore especially the drums. Glad to see an exception.
Yours is an Empty Hope live at Wembly for some growling. Romanticide for a nice duet with Floor (female singer) & Marco (male singer/bass player.) 🤙🔥
Had to comment 🤗 You said vocals are flawless, yeah it's flawless Floor singing 😁 All the best from Finland 🤗
Any live NightWish is pretty much perfection - you can't go wrong 🤘
Great reaction dude , bet that didn’t feel like 10 min huh ? Anything live from them is fine by me !! 🤘🏼💥🤘🏼
the Nightwish Army has already arrived, but yeah... their drummer is f'in awesome. I miss him, but the new drummer is definitely up to the task.
Song of Myself, Storytime and Last Ride of the Day-- all live
Congratulations youve just experienced your first floorgasm! She also excells on the new album human nature as do the whole band!!!
Nightwish, Wacken Germany :)
Welcome to the Nightwish army!
lol "yea she knoes she got that note,"
Floor - "Keep listening young one, welcome to the NW Legion" Not even my top yet.
Romanticide or Storytime from this same show next please! Nice video.
Yeah .... that drummer deserves a raise
Gives me the goosebumps each time)
You should check the whole show. It's absolutely fucking AWESOME
You got a sub for not pausing every 30 seconds. I am sure that some making react vids like their own voice over the performance. I also enjoyed that you stuck to what you know and did not try to be judgemental the other stuff. This is the first of your videos that I have seen so I retain the right to change my opinion ;). Good stuff.
Flawless vocals will be a common thought as you watch more Nightwish videos. And, yes, Jukka, the drummer, is a beast.
Finaly someone who mentions the drummer!
