      Hi Angie… where are you located ? Most of my works are commissioned. However there are a few things legally can be sold but probably only to anyone inside Canada.

      @@ArtofTaxidermy Sorry, my previous comment didn’t show that it posted. I’m in the US. Bummer. I hope to have one as beautiful as yours one day!

      No worries. I thought so. Yeah international deals are not worth the hassle. There are a lot of good taxidermists in the States I’m sure you can find one. Cheers

    If you don't mind my ask, what millimeter eyes did you use? I know crows are usually 11mm, and ravens aren't that much larger?

    • @ArtofTaxidermy
      @ArtofTaxidermy  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It was a while ago but I think it was 13 mm. I usually measure the eyes right off the skull after skinning.

      @@ArtofTaxidermy Thank you very much! I tried measuring an image of a raven skull using a photo editor and got 14mm!

      @@Percy1800sDetective thats quite possible.. in fact I might have used 14 mm.. as I said it wa a long time ago and Im not sure 100%. Ravens are as big as our hawks and our hawks eye range is from 13 to 15 mm.. so it makes quite sense if a raven is 14.

    How do you bring the wires all the way through the feet? I always get stuck at the knee joint

    Great video! I have a crow I'd like to mount. I've never mounted any type of birds yet. What advice would you have for me? Is there any how to videos you can point me to? Im really not sure where to begin with birds, my experience is with game heads. do you just use dry preservative ? can I buy a pre molded crow head somewhere? What about the body is that something you make yourself? Also how do you preserve the feet? Sorry about all the questions, But thanks in advance!

      @ArtofTaxidermy  5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      well, Crow is not a difficult bird to mount as long as you know how a bird gets mounted, so I suggest you either watch or learn how bird mounting is done and then give it a try. I make everything for my bird mounts myself, the body, head and everything,,. you can buy injection products for the feet but you can also let it dry, there will be no problem. injection is just for making it look fuller.

    Noob question, but do the beaks require black stain/paint or do they retain their color after the processing?

    • @ArtofTaxidermy
      @ArtofTaxidermy  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      On ravens or generally dark or black beaks they supply keep their colour.

    What kind of wire do you use for the wings and legs?

      @ArtofTaxidermy  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@alamobassin4436 Im not sure why that happens to you, maybe you are pulling too hard, maybe your bodies are too big that you have to pull on the skin by sewing?

    • @alamobassin4436
      @alamobassin4436 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Should I have a few centimeters of slack in my bird skin? The one I tried where it broke the skin was just barely big enough to close over the body

    • @ArtofTaxidermy
      @ArtofTaxidermy  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@alamobassin4436 good rule is to create the same size body you take out of the bird.
