My first car/truck was this truck. i painted it all white, slammed it to the ground, bought some saw blade rims with low pro's and 5% tint. On the inside some acura bucket seats, built a center console and fit two 8" cerwin vegas on a punch 150 connected to an alpine deck. Hurst shifter knob and momo wheel finished it off. I didnt have much money to make it fast but cleaned up the engine, added a weber carb with k&N air filter; my buddy made some make shift headers for it which dumped into dual exhaust tips. Made a bed cover out of plywood, foam, black vinyl, and a stapler, lol. One day i actually dragged one of the speedbumps at school about 50 feet with it. My friends laughingly called it the shark. lol. it was slow as shit but so much fun.
Dropped my 76 4" today 3 with block's an 1" with new tyre's, she's getting a custom made exhaust next week, I'm definitely using the Datsun badge like yours, I may paint it white Enamel Love your sled mate 👊
Yah there good, I got a few datsuns. Just gotta remember it is old so you need to know how to work on a engine. Good thing is, you don't need to smog so if you want to drop a diffrent engine then you will have no legal issues
I like it, but its a little TOO slammed to be fun or really legal. anything metal below the level of the rims can snag asphalt if you lose a tire, could be a horrible event. had a '76 long bed that was dropped 2-1/2" rolling on Yoko 195/60 15's, weber carb, offy intake, cam, header, flowmaster on 2.5" pipe, KYB's, 4spd from a 1600 station wagon, truck pressure plate with car disc, and near 400 lbs of "dumb weight" removed. 165 hp with less weight and lower+closer gear ratios would lunch most anything 0-65, but top end was only 90 it'd be floating valves. great handling in twisty little back roads, pretty mean in an 1/8 too. wish I still had it, was drifting before people were calling it that. the long bed was both predictable and forgiving, drove it hard as hell all the time like a motorcycle, sheared U-joint bolts a couple times until I drilled and tapped for larger. back when, near anything would bolt together, it was great!
