- UPDATE 7/31/21: I recently sold this truck to my buddy Jun at Kaido House. You can follow what he does to the truck on Instagram @Kaidohouse or his youtube channel: Kaido House by Jun Imai / @kaidohousebyjunimai9126
Quick short video about my 1974 Datsun 620. This was originally built and known as "Walter" for "Project Car Magazine". It was sold to a good buddy of mine at RPM Garage in Monrovia California. He owned it for several years before he added the Pandem Flares and Lip, did an airbag setup and had the interior redone in Black Leather. Only major change i did was to mount up 15x8.5 -34 Offset Erwin Mesh wheels. Trucks a handful to drive but oh so much fun. - ยานยนต์และพาหนะ
I love this truck. I have owned 3 620 pickups my very first vehicle ever was a 1973 Datsun I picked up from a a women that ran a group home and one of the kids left it and it had been completely restored this was back in 1989 but it had new interior, true spoke rims, hood scoop, visor, front chin deflector, roll pan, some neat body work like a bunch of stamped louvers in the tail gate and roll pan also custom paint job with a painting on the tail gate of the truck sitting on the beach and it had holly intake and carb with glass packs slammed to the ground I mean this thing had it all, all but breaks lol I got the truck at an un-believable price $750 they were asking 1200 but the breaks were bad and had to tow it so the went down but even that was a good price with all the work granted this was 33 years ago. I drove the wheels off until one day it over heated an seized the engine and instead of fixing it I bought a new one a 1975 that was also fixed up and only paid $900 wow I'm realizing they were cheap back in the day wish I would of kept them.
my first was a red 75. stock L20, lowered on white 15" steelies. I miss it so much.
I still have the Project Car magazines from when it was featured. Super nice build, glad it's still around.

This is a beautiful truck! I want to build one like this! Steve killed it!
Ya he did...that's why i had to have it... and was really fun to own for a bit.
@@oldrcrich Does Steve has an upholstery shop? When I track down a 620 project truck, I'd like to talk to him about possibly doing my interior.
@@Clemente4u No he does not, i'm not sure who did the interior.
@@oldrcrich ahhhhh... OK. Thank you and happy 4th!
Very nice 👌
Esta preciosa!!! ❤
I LOVE IT
Nice. Im working hard on mine.
Right on!
Good nice
Have the same setup for my 620. Just have to figure out the ITB Pulsar setup your have. Can’t find the old Project Car Magazine links, think they are no longer working.
Loved the magazine.
Nice truck.
Ya, Not long after i sold this truck to my buddy at Kaidohouse, he had someone bring him a couple issues that I had searched for lol.
Anyone know where I could get those side mirrors
Where did you get the dash like that? Mine is super cracked
Beautiful truck. Clean build. What did you do to 5 lug swap it?
It had adapters from 6 to 5.
Geeze this thing looks perfect! Do you happen to remember what size the tires were?
Thanks! Tire size was 235/50/15 Toyos
Where did you get the fender flares? They look like they where ment to be on that truck. I wanna get a set for mine! Where can I find them?
Pandemusa.com
any info on those fender flares? just started building one of these on my channel and im definitely going to need some flares lol
Pandemusa.com 👍🏼
😎👍
i have the mag that this truck was featured on
What wheels are those I neeeed them
Love the pickup! I have one i re-did as well. Love your wheels. I have tried to research the name but cant find them. Where did you get them?
I purchased them from Kyusha Garage which can be found on Facebook and IG (kyushagarage). He's a great seller out of Australia and I highly recommend him. These are old 90's wheels so you have to keep you eye out for them when they pop up.
@@oldrcrich thank you so much I appreciate it. If ya ever want to sell yours..let me know lol
@@1988vanna Unfortunately I sold it about a year ago, it's even switched hands again. Super fun yet sketchy truck. Hopefully the new owner will give the suspension the love it deserves.
Wow. Is this the exact same truck the Hot Wheels model is based off? Or is this an original factory colour?
It is a factory color but you are correct that this was used for the Hot Wheels 5 Pack. I sold this to Jun Imai who owns Kaido House which was a license to Hot Wheels.
What is that paint colour code? Looks awesome
I never looked up the color code but it is a factory 620 color. Sorry I can’t be of more help
Hi, can i ask what spring model you use for lower car
This truck was on air bag suspension. No springs other than rear leaf spring.
710 hp?
The only thing missing from this video was to hear the sound of the itb’s.
Ya I should have..my bad. I did do a little clip on my IG account. oldrc_rich
and the engine hood
Whaaaat
Like the truck, don't like the ugly wheels and tires on it along with the flared out fenders. Looks punched out.
That's what is cool about custom vehicles, everyone can build to their own taste 👍
@@oldrcrich I actually love them 👌🏻 well done
So you put a nice engine in it nice interior and just leave the body looking like crap with dents and rusting away.
LOL...I think that was the point of the build in the first place. This has been part of the original sleeper look when it was a "Project Car Magazine" build.
@@oldrcrich I get it some people like the look but I guess it's just me, I would go the whole nine yards and do the body at least get it straight and put primer paint on it, everything else looks good on it. It's like wearing a nice suit and then your shoes are old and worn with mud. It's a nice looking little truck and not many of those bodies are around by treating the rust you will get to enjoy it for many years to come.
@@ray24051 Its funny you mention that. Every meet i took it too...any time i would mention that I was going to get the body work done and painted, it was a resounding NO! Leave it as is. Might be something that has to be seen in person. Actually it doesn't matter now, I recently sold it to a friend @kaidohouse on IG. It'll be fun to see what he does with it.
@@oldrcrich Yuup original body and color is best! Even rust adds character and history to it. Once they get dents fixed and fresh new paint its not the same.
