Take off the three bolts holding the plate on that the brake lever and master cylinder are attached to. Then the entire assembly will swing away from the bike, giving better access to the cotter pin, and you won’t have to remove the crash bar.
Agreed it’s not really a lowering device, rather more of something to push the lever forward for longer legs. It’s not a lot, but a little here and there can add to more comfort of long days. Works well with the brackets that move the floorboards forward as well. Safe riding

Take a look at the 4:40 mark on video. Maybe that’s helps? It’s a tight fit sliding bolt in/out with exhaust.
I bought this. Not enough change to warrant the money and it does not lower it any for tall guys.
