It's one of many things I love about this movie. It actually captures how FUCKING FAST Kenshin actually is, without the tricks of animation or manga effects.
From the moment I knew that Takeru Sato was cast as him, his breakdancing skills and ability to switch personalities would make him PERFECT
One of the few live action adaptations that doesn't look weird
One thing i like about Kenshin live action is the actor doing all the fighting themself without stunt actor or computer effects they do need pulling string though.
not all was performed by himself. watch carefully at 1:03 , that was a substitute actor.

@@Yukimurakim0994 I have seen it. Just because he did a lot of the stunts doesn't meant he has the ability to perform all the sword movements and stunts.

I think thats one of my favorite elements of the first 3 live actions too. Theres very little if any line work. And the actors are divinely gifted with blades. Its really well done

@@CarinoGamingStudio They did. There are a total of 5 live action movies, all with the same actor. The last two movies to be made in the series cover his time as a killer and the final consequences of that time. So in chronological order, they are number 1 and number 5.

I just love the reaction that you can see in the faces of both of the woman and boy makes during and the fight. It’s saying to me oh sh1t who the hell is this guy. He just laid waste to so many.

The sound effects of each sword strike make one think he is HITTING them not cutting them....

At least some of them trying to attack Kenshin at the same time. Not waiting for 1 vs 1 like most of fighting scenes. Because that's the style of Kenshin right? Attacking a bunch of opponents at the same time.
The rest was just too scared or trying to find a chance.
And part of that is that he doesn't give them a _chance_ to attack at the same time. There's no waiting, no defensiveness to Kenshin's style: he can fight four guys at once so he's damn-well going to rush them, when they're expecting him to be cautious. They don't get a moment to breath.
For someone that says they use a sakabato because they don't want to kill anyone, it sure does look like he killed a few people with severe blunt force trauma to the head and neck.

really loved the sword fight in this series why can't the majority of Japanese film makers replicate this kind of sword fight most of their samurai films and series had a wonky fight scenes
This is unrealistic as f... Because of this fight scene, the film should be called 'Star Wars 7, Japan Edition'.
@@piotrmalewski8178 What's Star Wars has anything to do with this? The vast majority of the actions in Star Wars are influenced by the action movies made in Hong Kong martial arts movies. The actions in Kenshin are another example of the influences Hong Kong action movies have around the world.
@@CaptainNippon The opponents clearly not doing anything or even falling on their own. In Hong Kong movies, at least from the 80ies, you couldn't see that. Even if that happened, it was too well made, and enemy's advantage wasn't that excessive.
Most sword fight are quick and numbers mean everything.
If you asked anyone with BlackBelt to fight 3+ people at the same times, they will tell you the best strategy is to RUN.
The same with sword fight unless you can get them to alley where you can fight only 2 at a times.

BTW, at the end of the clips, as Kenshin was walking towards the two, there's a mistake in the arrangement. Kenshin place the sharp side of his katana directly on his arm. That would've cut himself wide open in real scenario
Not really. It’s not that dangerous to have the sharp of a sword against oneself with cloth cover. Very common for historical swordsmen.
False, it's not a lightsaber, even a katana does not cut throught cloth by touch alone, it needs both force and movement to do so.
I don't think he was using the reverse blade here...

アニメや漫画のミラクル剣術と違って、ちゃんと地球上で戦える飛天御剣流、戦国の剣だという雰囲気が出ていてすごいしかっこいい。
佐藤健さんは個人的にあまり演技がうまいとは思わないし、好きではないんだけれど、この殺陣、というかるろうに剣心でのアクションについては文句の付けようがない。ご本人の努力と鍛錬いかばかりかと恐れ多い限り。
それだけに、江口さん扮する斎藤一の牙突がグリーンディスティニーだったのが悔やまれます（笑）
銃が普及する前から、集団戦闘では弓矢の使用が圧倒的に多かったのだが・・・

His character is written as being possibly the most skilled swordsman in Japan bar perhaps his own master. He attacks with speed now allowing them a chance against mostly undisciplined and shocked enemies.. yeh this isn't actually as unrealistic as you might imagine.
@@Alastair_ Even assumming panic, they would chop blindly rather than waiting untill he turns face front to them one by one and wait to be slaughtered. It's a fantasy that becomes annoying once you have a trained eye
i really hate the thing he does w his head/neck, the super lean forward thing he does when hes mad. otherwise love these movies

It seems to me that they wanted to make it as "real" as possible for Kenshin. But it doesn't work for me. Maybe Kenshin fans would buy it. DBZ would be super hard to film without heavy and fancy special effects.
