  • I replace the inner and outer tie rods on the envoy and have a general look around the front suspension.

I ran into the same problem several years ago trying to get the inner tie rod off because AutoZone did not have the correct size tie rod tool to fit my Trailblazer. I ended up purchasing a red plumber wrench to do the job. That wrench locked onto that inner tie rod and it came right off. Made a few grip marks on the tie rod, but I was throwing it away so it didn't matter. But your idea to pull the wrench with your truck was awesome. Thumbs up man.

Jason, nice video. Laughing me a-- off when you used your truck to pull the wrench and loosen the nut. Nice job. CR from Florida

Might be a dumb question but why is there only 1 rubber boot on one side and 2 of them on the other side

Hell of an example of back yard ingenuity using truck to loosen that inner tie rod. 🤣 My spring and shock looks identical in wear and brand with 160,000 even the Bilstein sticker is hanging on the same. And my lower shock mount is sticking out just like yours. So they probably are original. Just did the upper and lower ball joints, upper control arm, outer tie rod, break backing plate, hub, and sway bar link. Have a breaker bar and baby sledgehammer ready if you live in the rust belt. 😁 I used all Supreme or Xtuff Mevotech parts. They look better and cheaper than O.E.

I used a small bottle jack to pushed the wrench up to turn the tie rod to get it loose

Very nice sir, also not all grease fittings have them leak grease out, just till they start to get plump is good.

Yeah don't fill the boots until grease comes out, just until it starts to puff up a tiny bit. Some have pressure relief, some don't and the ones that don't will fail faster since they're overpressured.

Question when you were changing the inner what was that loose plastic piece? That was coming off that rack and pinion

Dis your tires look straight after I got my tires on and it’s noticeable that both tire point onward I backed up the tie rod till they looked close enough to being straight

Zip ties are a BAD replacement for holding the bellows on. Won't hold.

@@alrino9820 I have used dozens and some have been on for years. Many aftermarket bellow kits come with zip ties. It is only holding a dust boot in place. Sometimes, its impossible to get in there with a pliers.
