It's great to finally put a face with the brand. Nemo is an amazing company. You can really hear it in his voice how much he cares about his product. Really enjoyed the video
The quality and the design appreciation is something NEMO has maintained from their beginnings, I have many pieces constantly in use. I wish in their sleeping pads that they would offer a few more inches to their WIDE configuration, say from 25 inches to 28 inches?? Full sized side sleepers can't really be comfortable on a pad only 25 inches wide. Really enjoyed hearing from this local company here in NH, thanks Dan for once again offering such great content!! When are you coming East!!!
As someone who is starting my own backpacking gear company. It is so refreshing to hear how his mind and process works. Such a humble and nice guy. Thanks for the great content like usual Dan!
Big NEMO fan here, and it started gradually. I now own 4 chairs, 3 tents, a couple sleeping bags and pads, a shower enclosure, a table, a few pressure showers, …. Yikes!! Happy with all of it. Really great interview, and it definitely did NOT scare me out of buying more (really, the opposite!).
Kudos for Cam for following his dream, putting in the long hours and hard graft, and building up a company and products to be proud of. He has my respect.
i bought a NEMO chair for my wife for Christmas 2 years ago and love it. I see the cheap plastic hardware copycats at Costco and now have a sense of pride that we have a premium product vs a cheap plastic product to use over the rest of our lives.
I discovered nemo in 2018 and ive never looked back. Slowly upgraded my sleep system, tent, and camp gear. I appreciate that they take the time to create quality products. Def didnt realize they had bags on the market so off to their website!
Bringing the human side to all of the gear we use is excellent. Your hike with Tayson from Outdoor Vitals was very memorable. Corporate America has lost its soul. It feels good to hear Cam and Tayson talk. They have not been growing it for 5 years and are selling it.
I understand why clickbait works, still I feel bad about titles that make a good company look bad for everyone who doesn’t take the time for a 17 min video. Please stop that.
Yeah I watch almost no videos when someone does it and I know they are doing it. I took a break from this Chanel for 15 months because of it. I don’t think it’s necessary in 2024 but as usual it will take the masses years to stop doing it.
@@SticksAandstonesBozo It's grabs attention and attention is money. Personally I think it's cringey, that people resort to this deceptive style of advertising and it's not going to stop.
THIS was a terrific interview. Thanks so much for introducing us to Cam. His authentic candor won my “friendship” and I heard myself saying (out loud) i want to go visit their headquarters, too! 😊
Purchased my first NEMO product in 2018-a Galaxy 2P tent-& IMMEDIATELY fell in love with/ their thoughtful design & ingenuity. Soon thereafter, I flipped the Galaxy for a discontinued, clearanced, limited run, Losi-3P LS. Even though it’s “old” it’s still my FAV tent to use when the camping circumstances fit. Since those tents, I’ve purchased & love their Tensor sleeping pad, the Switchback pad, their burlier Cosmo dbl pad, the Moonlight chair, & most recently, their Fillo King pillows. EVERYTHING, QUALITY.
I really enjoy hearing Cam speak about products. You can tell he is still passionate about innovation - I've only heard him on a couple of podcasts but it is always a great listen.
I’ve got 4 Disco’s, 2 Tensor’s, 2 Quasar’s, 1 Dagger 2p, 1 Hornet 1p, 3 Moonlight chairs. (I backpack with my kids) I love the brand! Great to see the man behind the curtain.
I love NEMO products! NEMO was one of the first brands that I started with and have remained loyal to since they're products have always been incredible and tend to grow as I grow in my outdoor endeavors.
I've been saving up for a backpacking tent. Nemo has been at the top of the list. Now I find out they're fairly local! You've got my hard earned dollar.
Really great interview to watch! It is really nice seeing Brensinger talk about the approach of NEMO. He seems very humble, and very driven by the thought of making something that people can use, enjoy and trust. Also, it is really nice to see how NEMO wants to stay true to their original identity, and how that also means they need to limit themselves in order to make their production work properly.

We’ll, from someone away out here in the middle of the Pacific Ocean(Hawaii) and for sure, a Dan Becker fan, I was so impressed by both parties and the raw, in the moment Q & A banter that went back and forth. A wonderful, intelligent, informative talk-story interview. Thank you Both!!!
Excellent interview. Cam’s passion shows in the Nemo products. It is refreshing to listen to an owner who really knows their products, is passionate and keeps the focus on the product value, which drives opportunities.
This low-key is the best marketing I've ever seen for a brand. REALLY makes me feel that Nemo is truly worth the value. I'll continue to support the brand, especially after seeing this. Maybe I'll pick up one of the new chairs! -Sent from my Nemo Tensor sleeping pad and Nemo Fillo
The first Nemo product I bought was one of their bags. As I am getting older, I wanted something that would let move a bit more and stay comfortable. What was most impressive to me was when I needed a repair done and there was no hassle at all getting it fixed. I now have several of their products and I am considering getting a second tent from them. It is rare these days where a company backs up there product as well at NEMO does.
Great interview Dan! Loved meeting the "Great Wizard" and seeing how much he is a real person and just how much passion and love of the outdoors he has. I love the quality first mentality, it's refreshing.
His answer on Dyneema is what has been tooling around in the back of my mind ever since I started paying attention to it. I have a bedroll that Savage Industries did with Dyneema and wool and while it is perfect for that scenario and usage because of primarily being an under layer in direct contact with the ground, I have zero interest in a tent made of the stuff for windy or rainy conditions.
This is a super cool story. My entire winter camping sleep system is from Nemo but I actually knew very little about the company before watching this. Getting some insight into the history and human side of the company was interesting. Thank you for putting this together.
I'm thoroughly enjoying this interview - one thing I'm really taking away is that Cam does not seem to exude what you might consider as "typical" attributes of a CEO of a successful company. He speaks gently and honestly, and he is clearly passionate about the product and the customer - not just the bottom line.
A rock climber after my own heart lol. So nice to hear from him. His ideology really resonated with my own as well. So cool that you got this opportunity!
Fascinating to see the face behind Nemo as I've used many of their products over the years and as a product designer I could always feel the deeper thought process in their products ( including their walking pole shelters you didn't know about ;-) What an intelligent thoughtful character Cam obviously is. I think this interview with brands thread would be a great one for the future ! Also factory visits would be a brilliant route to follow to ? Great stuff Dan and all the best from Scotland. A
Nemo Dagger 2p owner here. Favorite tent I’ve ever owned. As for the interview It was cool to see such a down to earth guy in charge of such great products.
What a fantastic interview. Thanks for putting it together. One the topic of Dyneema being so much more expensive, I have to point out that the prices of Nemo's new Osmo tents aren't that much less than some of the Dyneema tents. And it would be nice to see Nemo give Dyneema a try on a freestanding tent (even if only sign wall).
I really enjoy the interview style. Podcast, that you're able to do with some of these big name brands or big name youtubers really enjoy this content period
Great to hear the start of Nemo. I remember when they launched I was something totally new and innovative in the space and really cool. And Dan, you're right there is not a ton of backpacking here in WI. Especially in the SE, there are only so many times I can wander down the ice age trail and kettle moraine.
I love my NEMO moonlite chair. Had an issue that NEMO took care of with no issues. Also have the Aurora 2P tent. Well made and easy to set up. We use it truck camping. Have another brand that’s lighter to carry backpacking. The hornet wasn’t wide enough at our feet or we would have got one of those. Good interview. Glad I watched it.
Just brought a nemo chair thanks to this channel. Very pleased with the quality and brilliance of the design. It's comfortable, compact, light. (It is an 'outdated' chair, because that's the price point I'm working with . Not the latest model, however excellent.)
Great interview, Dan - keep 'em coming! Original gear founders should be a monthly segment! Man, I wish NEMO would return to making the bright green rain flies!
It's been interesting to watch Nemo rise to prominence in the outdoor market. When i really started to get into backpacking in 2007/2008 they weren't well known. Walk into an REI back then and it was mostly gear from REI, MSR/Thermarest, TNF, and Big Agnes.
Really great video, Dan. I only have one NEMO product, the Tensor sleeping pad, and it's a great product. I hated paying $200 for it but it's worth it. Fifty employees is a good sized organization to run but still manageable and still small enough to allow Cam to exercise control over quality, production, etc. It's good to know who you're doing business with. I'll now look at more NEMO products. After all, I've wasted enough money on buying inferior products and then having to buy another inferior product to "upgrade" the first one. Thanks, Dan.
Great interview. I got my Nemo Meta 1P and 2P tents back in 2010. I want to say they were one of the few trekking pole tents at the time. Nemo equipment has always been great quality for me.
My only Nemo product is the Hornet 1p, which I is now my number one tent. I’ll be looking to add more Nemos to my gear room. Thanks to both Dan and Cam for an excellent interview.
Yes! Love Nemo. I have the Aurora 2P to tent camp at the state parks w the Victory blanket as I have 3 dogs who sleep in it with me. 😊. I started mid 50’s but grew up camping and hiking and wanted to get back to it during the pandemic. So satisfied with my lovely Nemo tent!
My favorite sleeping bag to use when I want comfort rather than weight savings is my NEMO Disco, hands down. I have ultralight quits, sure, but I sleep the best in my NEMO ❤ Truly such a great high-quality brand. I’ve never been unsatisfied. I love their Tensor pads too.
Love my Nemo Dagger OSMO 3P tent! It really resists moisture like none other I've had. My first time using it, we brought this tent and my sons brought a different tent. It rained at night and when we woke up in the morning, the outside of the tent appeared almost 100% dry while my sons' tent had moisture all over it. This allowed us to pack our Nemo pretty quickly, but we had to wait longer for the other tent to dry in the sun some and shake it at various times to remove moisture. We've had the Nemo for two years now. The last time I took it out, it wasn't as perfect at resisting the moisture as my first several trips, but it still did a decent job. It's just probably time for me to use Nikwax to wash and re-waterproof it.
About to go all in on Nemo products this helped with concreting the decision. 4 season tent, pad, sleeping bag, chair, an prolly more in the end it helps to know the roots. Put a face with what you’re buying into and where they are going in the future. Overlander / backpacker/ back country hunter this info helps more than you know. Standing behind your product is key for anyone shopping. Quality products that last and if fail replaced is key when looking for anything. Thank you for making this an gettin this out to us all. I’m coming back to hiking after a 15 years of break. Would love to enjoy overnight trips. Nemo’s design looks amazing. I’m an engineer and I value good design.
Great interview Dan! I enjoy your program & appreciate all the gear reviews that you do. I'm not a novice at all & spent many a days waking up in a tent in any & all seasons. I like your videos because I feel you are genuine, honest and give great info, un-bought. Keep up the good work!
Did May Lake - Glen Aulin - Young Lakes in Yosemite mid-August this year... the exception was to see a non-NEMO tent. I can't speak for the volume of pads & bags, but this small sample size regarding tents stood out to me... I've had mine for 8 years at least and I love it. Last year and this year the bungie for the poles I've had to re-set/ tighten & cut but obviously the stuff stretches. 5 of 5 stars, would recommend.
Incredible. Based on Cam’s values and overall passion for the company, I want to outfit myself with all NEMO gear. Haha RIP my bank account. The relationship between you too is key. It creates a true transparency. Thanks for sharing the video. Cheers!
Thank you for the fantastic interview. Learning about the background of NEMO as company makes me more inclined to purchase more of their products. Dan please take up Cam's offer on the company tour, I'd be interested in seeing more.
I really love this video. I know you mentioned channel changes going forward. If this is part of the direction, I'm loving it. Love the back story of these brands.
Super interesting interview! Nemo is hands down my favorite non-cottage company. Most of my gear is cottage, but if they come out with an OSMO trekking pole tent I am definitely interested
Great interview! Nemo has always been such an amazing company; it started with my Losi 3P Storm edition. :)Their tents and sleeping bags are legit and very good investments!
One of my tents is made with Dynema and manufactured by Nortent. (Gamme) I love the tent and have had zero problems with it. Matter of fact, it's my favorite winter tent.
Cam, you nailed my motivation directly on the head... I (this consumer) want to be a solo bush crafter who gets to do so by glamping! I want to experience the world away from my "city reality" but I am too out of shape to carry 40 Lbs for 40 kilometres, and yet I want my mosquito netting around my camping chair beside my hot tent that I can stand up in... oh yeah, and there is only 10 dollars left to buy new gear after all of the other city realities are addressed. :-( Thanks for trying to help us guys out :-)
Love my Nemo gear. Was such a difference when I finally upgraded my sleeping pad and bag to them. Trying to buy my friends Nemo tent. But I have a request, while you are designing those backpacks, please consider us older, hips from kids, big chested women🙏😩. I have a whole hiking group of women that don’t even want to try thru hiking because those packs are not made for women with hips and chests at all. And I’m not talking about overweight, just that’s the way we were made, and have had kids. It’s like the hiking gear companies think it’s only men and 20something year old women are the only ones out here on trail. But there are thousands of 50+ year olds out here.
Dan, I bought a Thermorest pillow for my back on long flights. I didn’t know where to put it so I threw it on the couch. Have never had better naps. So, thank you for the recommendation.
Only got 2 Nemo items - the Alipine Tensor and Moonlight chair - both are exceptional and display many of the qualities Cam spoke about. Look forward to owning more in the future (wallet allowing)
I had a sewing problem with my Nemo Dragonfly Bikepack, here in France. It costs me a parcel to send it back to their french representative, and I got it repaired under full warranty, within 1 month. It was a bit long, but I'm fully satisfied with the service. I'm so sorry I didn't buy the Chogory tent for my next expedition (went for the TNF VE25, quite less cheaper here) but very happy with the brand, enjoying my mattress too. Keep on doing the good work 💪💪💪 (a bit less cheaper if possible, coz you're getting quite expensive on certain equipment)
i dig the humility of the NEMO CEO. Their products are basically best on the market imo.
It's great to finally put a face with the brand. Nemo is an amazing company. You can really hear it in his voice how much he cares about his product. Really enjoyed the video

Big Agnes has a 30" wide version of the Rapide.
Nemo made a 30” sleeping bag (Jazz) & sleeping pad to match 6 yrs ago . Not many people bought it. It lasted only a few years.

Incredible. Based on Cam’s values and overall passion for the company, I want to outfit myself with all NEMO gear. Haha RIP my bank account.
The relationship between you too is key. It creates a true transparency.
Thanks for sharing the video. Cheers!
I love and use Nemo Equipment .. very well thought out designs and high quality products! Thanks guys ! ( c/o '96 too 😁 )
Thank you for the fantastic interview.
What a terrific interview Dan I really enjoyed it!!
Great interview! Nemo has always been such an amazing company; it started with my Losi 3P Storm edition. :)Their tents and sleeping bags are legit and very good investments!
Amazing to see the thought that is going into these products!
Really enjoyed this chat. Great to hear from the folks behind the gear.
Great interview! I love my Nemo air mattresses. Thx Dan!!
One of my tents is made with Dynema and manufactured by Nortent. (Gamme) I love the tent and have had zero problems with it.
Matter of fact, it's my favorite winter tent.
My first tent was a used Nemo meta 2 person and I still use it. It is 3 lbs. but very spacious and comfortable.
:-( Thanks for trying to help us guys out :-)
I would LOOOOVE a bivy like what he talks about with today’s advancements. An “air pole” bivy would be stellar!
Great video! I am a Rhode Islander and went to UNH right next to Dover, NH! Makes me like NEMO products more knowing he is “local”.
Thanks Dan. Wonderful products! Took the UL tent 18 days in the Grand Canyon. Solid equipment! Nice to know the story
Really enjoyed this interview Dan! Nice to get a bit more insight into Nemo.
A lot of young women also have that, especially women of color.
Dan, I bought a Thermorest pillow for my back on long flights. I didn’t know where to put it so I threw it on the couch. Have never had better naps. So, thank you for the recommendation.
One of your best TH-cam videos. Well done!
Excellent products and service.
This was a great video. He was very open and down to earth. Thanks for filming and sharing this.
Nemo rocks. Great interview. Inspiring
Great change of pace, Daniel. I enjoyed it!
Great video and kudos for getting the CEO to do a video interview. Who knew the co was only 50 employees. Still fairly small.
