What a delight to see R.C. Sproul explain in simplicity but with clarity the doctrine of the Trinity. Wow, what a great teacher he was! Indeed a gift from the Lord. Thank you for sharing his teachings. To God be the Glory!
Nothing he said was simple or clear. No one is able to explain the trinity simply and clearly, as any defense or explanation by nature will be convoluted.
Where you heard simplicity, it was really confusing. Does a Christian need to believe in the Trinity to be saved? And if so, why did our Savior, nor the disciples, ever teach the doctrine of the Trinity? Why would Christians give credence to a council of men coming together to argue who God is (The Council of Nicaea in 325 CE), and thereby seek to define God? Can mankind define God? No, God reveals Himself to mankind. 1 John 5:7-8, The Johannine Comma is an interpolation according to Christian scholars (words added) to the Bible by over-zealous Trinitarians, who wanted some testimony to the Trinity, due to the fact that in the Bible there is none. Matthew 28:19 has come under suspicion, a commandment allegedly given by Christ to the disciples, but the disciples only baptized in the Savior’s name only, as demonstrated in the Book of Acts. The early church historian Eusebius, wrote (published circa 316 CE) in his book, Matthew 28:19, that Christ actually said, "Go and make disciples of all the nations in my name" (Eusebius, The History of the Church, p. 68, PENGU1N CLASSICS, 1965). The Trinity has only really existed since the 4th century. Historian H.G. Wells factually stated, "There is no evidence that the apostles of Jesus ever heard of the Trinity-at any rate from Him" (The Outline of History, Vol. 2, p. 499). Martin Luther is quoted in a sermon saying, "It is indeed true that the name 'Trinity' is nowhere to be found in the Holy Scriptures, but has been conceived and invented by man" (The Sermons of Martin Luther, Vol. 3, p. 406, 1988). It is time that the false Trinity Doctrine cease to exist in Christianity! Catholics and Protestants agree that “Whoever will be saved: before all things, it is necessary to keep the Catholic faith… unless he keeps this faith whole, he will perish everlastingly...And the Catholic faith is this: we worship one God in Trinity” (Catholicism, p. 69, 1961). Protestant professor of Theology James White, states, “The Trinity doctrine is misunderstood as well as ignored. It is so misunderstood that a majority of Christians when asked, give incorrect and at times downright heretical definitions of the Trinity” (James White, The Forgotten Trinity, p. 16). According to James White, around 75% of Christians, who think themselves to be Trinitarians, are actually Modalists. One God who at different times represents Himself in three different modes of being: Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. If belief in the Trinity doctrine is so critical to our salvation, then why did Christ and the disciples not preach the Trinity, which historically developed over 300 years after Christ? To say that one must believe in the Trinity in order to be saved, when Christ never stipulated the doctrine as a prerequisite for salvation is the grossest form of legalism! The man-made Trinity Doctrine is so ingrained into the imagination of Christians for salvation when Christ and the apostles never ever taught it, that many will actually stand condemned for believing in the Trinity according to the Tradition of men, and not of God. Christ warned us about teaching doctrines without one thus says the LORD! And He...said to them, “Well did Isaiah prophesy of you hypocrites, as it is written: ‘This people honors Me with their lips, but their heart is far from Me. And in vain they worship Me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.’ For laying aside the commandment of God, you hold the tradition of men…” He said to them, “All too well you reject the commandment of God, that you may keep your tradition” (Mark 7:6-9). Christians do not need to believe in the Trinity in order to receive salvation and eternal life in the Kingdom of God! If Christians needed to believe in the Trinity in order to be saved, then it would be taught in the New Testament by our Lord and Savior, and it, the Trinity, was not taught in the New Testament. The Trinity is a useless Doctrine based solely on the misunderstanding of men. It is time for Christians to free themselves from the doctrines of men. The Son of God declared: “Most assuredly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I AM” (John 8:58). YAH is the meaning of I AM. By this statement, Christ told the Jews that He is their God, the very God of Israel. Not to take this statement as true in that He, the Son of God, is lesser than His Father and God is tantamount to calling Him a liar. Based on everything presented here, the statement by churches that one must believe in the Trinity in order to be saved is the highest form of legalism.

So many folks have so much trouble with the concept of the Trinity. It generally centers on the Deity of Jesus Christ. The problem with those who have an issue with the Trinity always deals with what they believe who Jesus is. It is simple, read the Bible carefully and you will clearly see that Jesus is God incarnate and made several visits to the Old Testament greats. The New Testament completes the teaching that Jesus is the Great God of the scriptures. Thr Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit...3 persons are the one being God. The Father is God The Son is God The Holy Spirit is God The Bible describes and calls each of them God. Amazingly, God said He created the Heaven and the Earth by Himself. YET... The Bible says that the Father created the Heavens and the Earth. It also says that the Son created the Heaven and the Earth and yes the Bible says the Holy Spirit created the Heaven and the Earth. The Bible is not in contradiction...The being that is God created the Heaven and the Earth by Himself, indeed ! The Trinity is a concept that simply describes a Biblical truth.
@Wandering Weepy were does it say that in the bible? It says we go to shell. And that the new Jerusalem comes down for us after judgment day. Nobody is going up to heaven were God is.
Hebrews 5 : 7 "In the days when he lived this human life of ours he offered prayers and entreaties to Him who was able to bring him safely through death with strong crying and tears. And when he had been heard because of his reverence, although he was a Son, he learned obedience from the sufferings through which he passed. When he had been made fully fit for his appointed task,he became the author of salvation to all who obey him, for he been designated by GOD a high priest after the order of Melchizedek."
Denis That applies to Jesus and HIS words. As in these last days God has spoken to us by His Son. It was the Father living in Jesus doing His work. Jesus is the word of the Father. Hence the word of life. The eternal Spirit that dwells in Jesus with His spirit is the Fathers. Hence Jesus never dies. In regard to any judgments made I would state it will be Jesus's words that prevail. And no one comes to the Father apart from Him. That' s why those who listen and learn from the Father go to Jesus for life. "They will all be taught by God"
Brian Foster hahahaha smart people? Go get a couple of Phd. and lecture in a top notch educational facility before you open mouth and spout your nonsense again!
The doctrine of the Trinity can be easily prove wrong by objective biblical and historic study. The mystery of the trinity is that there are two definitions of the word God and they equivocate between using the word God as a noun and and adjective. In fact the "being" is used as a noun and an adjective. In fact every key word in the doctrine of the trinity was left undefined by the writers of the three major historic creeds, so it is impossible to get an exact definition of the trinity if you really study into it as I have done. The word hypostasise or "person" was left undefined because it was defined differently in the Western Latin church to the Eastern Greek church. In Nicean creed God is 1 hypostasise, but this is changed in 381AD to 3 hypostasises because the definition was unclear. In fact the Roman Catholic Church changed the 381AD creed of Constantinople without the approval of the other Orthodox churches. So all you Protestants have been deceived into thinking you are believing the original 381AD creed when in fact you are not. This is sad when objective truth is denied by those who claim that truth is important. I have read the writings of the church fathers and they we're mixture of Modelists, semi- Arian, Binity and Unititrian who believed the Son was subordinate to the Father. Their views on the Holy Spirit differed depending on who you read. Origin, Basil and the two Gregory's were influenced by Neo-Platoism which you need to study as that is the foundational concept of how 3 can be 1. It is not Bibilcial reasoning at all.
Sad to see many people rejecting the Trinity, if you deny the Trinity it is a very serious error, because you are denying who God is and deny who Jesus is which is even MORE serious same with the Holy Spirit. One sadly cannot be a Christian and reject the Trinity.
Those who subscribe to the extrabiblical concept of the trinity cannot possibly understand prophesy or even their own destiny, nor can they spread the good news of the coming kingdom to others.
+pathstowardgodbyfaith.com - Get to heaven or hell as the bible says? The Word of God says no such thing. Nor does it speak of a trinity or that Jesus is God. What it does tell the saints is that most believers fall into the apostasy. These have taken on extrabiblical concepts such as those you speak of and will argue with Christ after the first 1,000 years of His coming kingdom on earth when they are individually judged outside of time and then thrown into Gehenna because He never knew Him Rev 17 & 18, Matt 7:21-23, etc.) Your idolatry will destroy you. Repent! Come out of her (Rev. 18:4)! There is very little time remaining!
Sad situation when "Christians" cannot discuss matters of their faith with each other... The world is always watching, and the light is growing dim, the salt is losing its savor.
HEBREWS 5:7-9 Jesus knew he could not resurrect himself when he dies. So he prayed to God in tears and pleaded with God to save him from death and resurrect him. And God did save Jesus from death and resurrected him back to life when Jesus was killed. This Scripture says God saved Jesus because of his obedience to God.
There is no need to get hung up on Sproul referring to the Trinity as 'mystery'. The means by which God exists eternally is similarly mysterious, yet we have scriptural reasons for believing he does. A thing can be mysterious in some aspects *and* reasonable in others at the same time. The Trinity may be mysterious to us in how it works, but it is simultaneously reasonable (through scripture, logic, experience) to believe it exists.
Nick~~ To humble oneself is not to be less only to stoop to (or come down to) the level of your object! God does this repeatedly beginning in Genesis "in the cool of the day." BeBlessed!
Kevin 22 hours ago My own explanation of the trinity is more practical rather than biblical. Even so, the biblical explanation remains superior because it is realized through the word of God. Four commonly agreed upon attributes of God: God is perfect. God knows all things perfectly. Third, God exists everywhere, all at the same time. Fourth, God is perfect love and loves perfectly. My assertion is that: If three beings had these four traits, it is reasonable to say they are all three God. I reason that: Because all three are different persons (the who's) that are perfect, all-knowing, exist everywhere at the same time, and are perfect love and love perfectly, it is reasonable that they would all three would come to the same exact conclusions, would have a physical presence everywhere at the same time, and have a perfect love for His creation as well as each person in the trinity. As a side, I find it interesting to think about some of the potential differences between the members of the trinity, such as creativity and the different roles of each member, i.e., Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. My conclusion: Each member would think perfect thoughts. Would come to the exact same conclusions. Would never conflict with each other. They would know the perfect good for all things and matters. They would have/or define perfect morality. They would perfectly know the outcome of all things, given all possible circumstances, truth, and all variances. Each would exist in all places at the same time. Each would perfectly know each other in perfect truth and they would love each other as much as they love themselves. Three such beings would be of one mind in thought, truth, love, morality, and even physically, just to list a few. So three such beings would, in fact, be God (one what). I believe biblical reasoning alone is enough evidence. Still, my logical explanation helps me to be able to speak with those who do not believe the biblical support for the trinity. Full disclosure: Like all analogies from a finite mind, my analogy will eventually break down if carried out too far, but I think it lays out the groundwork for the understanding of a God-head trinity.
@@danielavasiloaie2237 I have heard about half a dozen of his sermons, I did not find anything against my religious beliefs. I am a Catholic, by the way. I used to like preaching of late Billy Graham too.
Wow! Didn't know so many "christians" deny/reject the Triune God of the Bible. I am so thankful God has opened my eyes to this mystery and in faith I for sure trust this doctrine. There seem to be more mysterious issues than the Trinity to me in the Bible. It may be mysterious to some but there seems to be so much support/proof for this doctrine in the scriptures. Also to reject this doctrine would be dangerously rejecting so much of scripture. To deny the doctrine of the Trinity is to remain in darkness. John 1:5
God never been a trinity but always been ONE GOD who created all things ALONE . Paul is formal 1cor.8.6 But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him. Paul NEVER mention " for us there is only One God " the trinity" :)) God is Spirit and He became flesh He became the Lord Jesus Christ.
John 8:19, 24 "They said to him therefore, “Where is your Father?” Jesus answered, “You know neither me nor my Father. If you knew me, you would know my Father also.” I told you that you would die in your sins, for unless you believe that I am he you will die in your sins.” Unless you acknowledge that Jesus Christ is God your sins will not be forgiven.
The doctrine of the trinitarian explanation of God did not develope until almost 300 years after the death and resurrection of Christ Jesus and then it still wasn't settled.
@Tony Tran HalleluYah! I'm so glad for you brother! GOD is ETERNAL (the Father is ETERNAL, the WORD is ETERNAL, the Holy Spirit is ETERNAL)! There is Tri-unity (the HOLY Trinity) and "the doctrine of Trinity" is BIBLICAL and MONOtheistic, NOT polytheistic!!! Man: spirit, soul and body, GOD: Father, Son and Spirit! God bless you and your loved ones! Maranatha!
Guys I am trying to find explainations to my questions about the trinity but haven't been successful. I have watched so many videos. Either my questions are not answered or the explainations don't make any sense. Is there a book or place where I can find explainations?
@@timothy9360 there are too many questions. It would be better to find a books that explains it. But if you have the patience for it here are a couple. What does Son and Father actually mean in the trinity? Do the three persons live simultaniously? How are they separated (3 persons) in the context of the trinity? How are they one in the context of the trinity? What is the holy spirit? If Jesus and the Father are one why cant Jusus just forgive without sacrifizing himself? Isnt God all mercyfull and capable of forgiving unconditionaly? If he has to make the father forgive he is clearly not one with him. Otherwise why would he have to convice his own beeing? If Jesus forgives, does the father also have to forgive? Or if Jesus forgives and the Father doesnt is that human being been forgiven or not? If one of the three decides something can the other refuse? Do the Father the Son and the holy Spirit have a will of their own? How are they in that concept separated (3 Persons) and one at the same time? How is Jesus the Son of God if he is one with him? Or do we understand the word Son wrong in that context? If Jesus existed before his coming to earth, his birth by Marry doesnt create or change the relationship to the Father. If we take that fact into consideration what is then meant by the Son. What makes Jesus and The holy spirit be God? How do we have to understand the three Gods? Are they limited by each other? Or can they do whatever they want on their own. But 3 limitlessness can not exist at the same time they would limit each other. Why is the trinity not mentioned in the Torah when God has always been there? Or on the other hand if the trinity isnt been there forever, God is all knowing he would have mentioned that in the previous scriptures. Its been said that the trinity is three persons in one being. But persons are separate units. Should we understand it like a person with multiple identities (states). But then the other identities do not exist while one is shown. How are the persons different from each other in the trinity? What do the Father the Son and the Holy Spirit do? What are their tasks? Or does just one do while the others dont do anything? Who of them created sustained and sustains the universe and everything thats in it? And who causes the changes in it? If one is doing that what are the others doing? If the bible says one thing and the church say something that contradicts the bible in that regard who is to be believed? And if I find contradicting statements in the bible how do I know which one is true? These are a lot of questions and I still havent listed all of them. Thats why I asked for a resource that explains it. Because I can not expect someone in the comments to be able to explain everything or to have the time for that.
@@asmir5967 Hi, friend, great questions. It's good you're thinking critically about things you've been taught. The truth is, there is only one God whom Jesus identified as His Father alone. John 17:1-3. Paul said the same thing in 1 Corinthians 6:8. No trinity in the Bible. It's a made-up concept and thus a made-up god. I wholeheartedly recommend you watch videos published by the channel called "Trinity Delusion", but even more so that you believe what Jesus said in the above fragment and start reading the Bible with that in mind. “Of all the commandments, which is the most important?” “The most important one,” answered Jesus, “is this: ‘Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’" Mark 12:28-30 That should always be your starting point. Not some theologian explaining to you what the "foundational doctrines" of Christianity are. The issue with the trinity is that people habitually imagine it into the text and so it takes discipline to break the habit. If you do that, you will clearly see how utterly unsupported by Scripture the whole thing is. But for that you need to value what is true higher than what other people think. If you are a conformist, you will inevitably conform to what 99% Christians believe, thus rejecting what Jesus taught. And if you don't, they will reject you. Sword, not piece.
The Trinity was a political idea not even a religious one. I've been studying on the trinity for a while now and can I just say that there is a genuine need for thorough comprehensive study of the fundamental Bible truths we hold. People rely so much on the Pope, pastors, prophets and others to teach them the Bible, that they are prone to putting the pastor's word above the Lord's. We need to study the Bible ourselves through the guidance of the Holy Spirit. We have to allow God to speak for Himself. This is what God has opened my eyes to, now I see why sometimes Athiests and Agnostics and people of other faith think Christians are brainwashed, because we rather rely on pastors and church leaders to teach us about God other than having a relationship with God, studying His word, and questioning the doctrines that we are taught. The Lord laid it on my heart to tell you this. To tell anyone that would listen this. The doctrine of the trinity is false. I've studied the history of the trinity, tracing from Athanasius to Constantine and thanks to the Holy Spirit, I've left that belief. I believe in Jesus Christ, He is the Father incarnated. The Father, Son, and HS are not sperate "persons" but one person who has revealed Himself in more ways than one. It's important to know, especially when telling others about our faith, the truth about out beliefs. The Trinity has always been a hot topic in the church for centuries after Jesus ascended. It's nothing new. This is a brief summary of the history concerning this doctrine. But centuries ago, in the late 200s and early 300s, the leaders of the Christians church were trying to figure out what the NT books meant when they talked about the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Because we have to note that the NT books were compiled around the 3 or 4 century. And this caused confusion The church leaders had no idea the relationship between the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. So out of confusion they began coming up with theories, marking out their positions, kicking each other out of the church, and breaking up (this is one of the things that caused the East and West schism which was the break of communion between the Catholic church and other churches) and they told everyone who didn't believe in their doctrine that they would go to hell. The topic of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit was one of, if not the biggest topic among Christian leaders in the year 325. The Roman Emperor Constantine who is sometimes seen as "the first Christian" emperor when in reality the guy was a pagan and saw religion as a way to expand and unite his empire. So Constantine along with some of the church bishops held a council in the town called Nicaea, and these bishops came up with the first version of the statement of faith that attempted to define the relationship between the Son and the Father. The statement they drafted is called the Nicene Creed which is what the vast majority of Christians and Christian churches have accepted as essential doctrine. And yet this is where the church got off track why? because although the Nicene creed does not contain the words "trinity" or "persons" (neither does the Bible by the way), what it DID say about the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit set the church on a course towards the doctrine of the Trinity of persons. One or 2 centuries later, the Athanasian creed, another statement of faith which was composed and assembled by St Athanasius, greatly expanded on the Nicene creed and DID include the words "trinity" and persons. This introduced contradiction, confusion, and polytheism into the church even though no one wants to admit it. (notice how none of them, not the church fathers, not Tertullian, or even St. Athanasius called upon the Lord, like the people in the Bible did. Whenever the children of the Lord wanted to know about God they called to Him and He answered. But in this situation, no one did that. None of them claim to even be inspired by God. All of this confusion was created by men trying to figure God out without the Spirit of God. God is not the author of confusion, but we get ourselves confused when we don't consult God about anything.
@@viviennebaptiste Do you actually study Jesus's Bible? This what is says about God I suggest yo take particular note.1 Timothy 6 : 16 “.......God , the blessed and only Ruler, the King of kings and Lord of lords, who alone is immortal and lives in unapproachable light, whom no one has seen or can see. To Him be honour and might forever, Amen” Romans 11 : 33 - 36 O the depth of the riches and the wisdom and the knowledge of God! How His decisions are beyond the mind of man to trace! How mysterious are His ways! For who has known the mind of the Lord? Or, who has become His counselor? Who has first given anything to Him, so that he is due any repayment from God? For all things come from Him, and exist through Him, and end in Him. In Him be glory for ever! Amen.
John 5 : 31 - 34 " If I testify about myself my testimony is not true. There is another who testifies in my favour and I know His testimony about me is true. You have sent to John and he has testified to the Truth. Not that I accept human testimony........."
36 But I have greater witness than that of John: for the works which the Father hath given me to finish, the same works that I do, bear witness of me, that the Father hath sent me. 37 And the Father himself, which hath sent me, hath borne witness of me. Ye have neither heard his voice at any time, nor seen his shape.
It’s ironically this pastor is trying to defend the indefensible ( the trinity ) which is late addition & he quote ( 1 John 5 - 7 ) this verse is not in revised standard of the bible because is not found in earlier manuscripts & yet this man is trying to defend it & preach it
@tanger news fair enough.. I too believe the closer we get to the autographa the better, although most reputable bibles will have the footnote at the bottom stating “some manuscripts read…; xyz manuscript omits “such and such”. None the less… what about Genesis 1:26? Who’s “Us”?
John 17 : 23 " I pray for this that the world may realize that YOU sent me and that YOU sent me, and that YOU loved them as YOU loved them as YOU loved me."
Excellent! People claim that the Holy Trinity is hard to understand, but to me it's one of the easiest of all bible doctrines to understand if we allow God to reveal it through His Word. The first thing I had to do was try to find out what God is in clear and easy to understand language. In that search I found that the one description of what God is; is fire. Now that’s something we all have firsthand knowledge of, now God is also described as Spirit, but spirit is not as easy to understand because we are also flesh and not pure spirit; so I thought I would stick to fire, that I can understand a bit more because I deal with that on a daily basis. But does the bible state clearly that God is fire: “Our God is a consuming fire.” [Hebrews 12:29] KJV So now I had to ask myself, is this metaphoric language or is it to be taken literally. I must find some verse of scripture to clear this up. I now come across: “Then I beheld, and lo a likeness as the appearance of fire: from the appearance of his loins even downward, fire; and from his loins even upward, as the appearance of brightness, as the colour of amber.” [Eze 8:2] KJV So now I see that this is not metaphoric language, but is to be taken literally; our God is a consuming fire. So now I ask myself, what is fire capable off? So it's time to do some experimenting with fire to get an even clearer understanding of what fire is and what it can do. Now I began my experiment with fire, you may have heard of this experiment before. I take candlestick and light it, I have a single flame which I refer to as the parent flame, this parent flame is the genesis of all that follows. From that one parent flame I light a second candlestick and set it off to my right, so now I have two flames. One in front of me that is the parent flame and one to my right which is the offspring of the original flame. But what is this second flame? It's everything that the first flame is because it's the offspring of the first flame, the first flame just divided itself into two. Now is this parent flame limited to dividing into two or can it divide into more flames? So I continue my experiment. I now take a third candlestick and light it from the parent flame and set it on my left. Now I have three flames here, now are these three separate flames or are they still the original flame? There’s only one way to find out, so in continuing my experiment I now take the second candlestick that I set on my right and bring it back and place it next to the parent flame and the two reunite as one, now nothing was lost in the second flame because of it was and is still the first flame. How’s about that third flame that’s on my left? I take it and bring it back to the other flame that’s in front of me that was once two but now reunited as one. So just as the second flame reunited as one with the first, the third flame also reunite and now I’m back to the original single flame. There were never three different flames, but the one flame that went in different directions and returned home. If we can do this with fire, just think of what the consuming “Fire” that God is must be capable of. Now as I understand The Holy Trinity, this is how the consuming fire that God is formed His heavenly family. The Son is not some separate and other god, but has always existed as the original flame, as long as the parent flame existed, the Son, the second flame existed therefore the Son is as eternal as His Father and is all that the original flame, his Father is; he is God! So if God is the consuming fire that scripture says He is, what other way would he from his heavenly family then from within his own being? Is that not the same way God’s image on earth [man] family is formed? You see, this I can understand. So, would God limit His family to three or is it possible to add more members to His family using this same process? Now is this just my imagination working overtime or is there scripture to support this. I must continue my investigation, I search scripture and come across this: “And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.” [2:1-4] There that flame again, or is this twelve different gods? It can only be that same original flame, that one consuming fire that God is that that divided into three and now twelve and yet is one. Each disciple was indwelled by their own individual flame. Now God gives us an idea of how He indwells each one of His children as He did with His first Son. Now if let's say there are six or seven billion people on earth, if the first Son of God and His twelve disciple are an indication of how God indwells His people, then that single original consuming fire that our God is, that went from one, to three to twelve must be able to divide itself into billions and yet remain one. Three is the number of the basic family unit both in heaven and on earth; Father, Son and Holy Spirit. The earth family; Father, mother and child. All is triune! Now that’s the way the Triune God reveals Himself to me, in a way that my finite mind can understand. If I’m a son [not “the” son]of the family of God, surely He would not hide this from me or make it almost impossible to understand. God is one, god is three, God is billions or any number He deems necessary and yet He’s one! One single flame, one Great consuming fire. The Trinity is the only thing that makes sense. If the Christian deny the Holy Trinity, then he or she must admit their worship is Babylonian; the worship of multi gods because they claim that the Father is God and the Son is God, that two Gods. The only thing that explain this is the Trinity or the Triune God! Don’t limit God, He is as many as He deems necessary and yet He’s One!
@ Trinity Explained I think your first problem is with trying to understand God with your intellect, intellect as I understand it is the power of knowing as distinguished from the power to feel and to will. The word “intellect” is filled with pride, man’s pride in his knowledge, knowing that he knows that he knows, all within himself; his pride in his knowledge. This intellect, this desire for knowledge in man is what Lucifer used to cause the man’s fall. Now contrast that with what God did here on earth in the person of Jesus the Christ. Jesus never went to the intellectuals with His message, in fact, it was intellectuals who set out to murder Him. Who is this man, He’s not an intellectual like us, He never attended our schools of the intellectuals, how is it even possible that He even know how to read. O’ the pride of man in his intellect. Jesus at twelve years old made the intellectuals look like fools, or at the very least very ignorant of the things of God even though they were very knowledgeable. If the disciples needed to be intellectuals to be apostles I don’t think the Lord would have selected that bunch, if it’s one thing they were not; that’s intellectuals. To further define “intellect” it is said to be, highly developed thoughts. The Lord says, my thought are not your highly developed thoughts. With their “highly developed thoughts” the intellectuals block the light of heaven and turns to each other’s “highly developed thoughts.” You never come to an understanding of who and what God is by using your intellect, you must reason through scripture on God’s “highly developed thoughts.” Man’s highly developed thoughts destroys the simplicity of the gospel, if God states in is His word that He is fire, then to begin to understand what God is, we really don’t have to have highly developed thoughts, but prayerfully peer into the flame that God is and let God reshape your highly developed flawed thoughts with His truly highly developed thoughts. Lucifer promised man that these highly developed thoughts, this “knowledge” will make you into a God. Be careful with those highly developed thoughts my friend! God Bless and Enlighten!
@ Trinity Explained Do you really know Jesus? “If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.” 8”Philip saith unto him, Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us.” “9Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father?” [John 14:7-9] KJV When Jesus responded to the request he in no uncertain terms were claiming to be God. Jesus goes so far as to tell them that when they see Him they see God. Jesus seemed stunned that they didn’t realize, after all that time He spent with them that they did not recognize God standing in their midst. Emmanuel, of the Old Testament, who is Emmanuel; God in the flesh. The apostate Jewish rulers also understood that Jesus was claiming to be God. Jesus was condemned to death for claiming to be God. That’s scripture; that’s the word of God. Jesus was claiming to be the Son of God. Whatever the father is, the son is also. If the father is a cat, its offspring will be cats. If the father is a man his offspring is mankind. If the Father is God, then His offspring is God. You speak of using logic, what’s more logical than that? Now in order to get any other meaning from this, you must throw your logic to the wind and twist scripture to fit your doctrine, which is a very dangerous thing to do. Jesus will alway be subject to His Father because He proceeded from the very being of His father, but, all that His father is he is, just as all that you are, your son is. Now that’s some logical stuff right there. Now either Jesus was truthful about Himself or He was committing blasphemy and was justly condemned to death. It all boils down to that; that spirit that condemned Jesus to death is still with us today and indwells those who say Jesus is committing blasphemy when He claimed equality with God His Father. Be careful, to agree with those who murdered the Son of God is not a good place to be in, that’s not very good company to be in. Either Jesus is God or the greatest deceiver ever. You claim to believe that it's in the word of God that we find the truth of God, then you turn right around and reject that truth when it doesn’t fit with your doctrine. Let's continue in the word of God that you claim to Love. “Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: “Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God.” Scripture is clear, its talking about two different beings and yet the two are one. There must be two because there was direct two way communication between each other. One sends the other on a mission, while on that mission, the other reports back to the other who sent Him on that mission. Yet the one who is sent on the mission, according to scripture, He is equal with the one who sent Him. You must corrupt the word of God to get any other meaning from this. Now let's look that the part you find most confusing. Jesus said that His Father is greater then He, and this is true because He proceeded from the very being of His Father, but as we see, it doesn’t stop Him from being equal with His Father. Now the next verse of scripture explains the meaning of this: “But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.” [Phil 2:7-8] Look at what took place here; all the power of God He had, He had to strip himself of to become a man, yes this one who is equal with God, He who created the universe and you and me gave up that glory and became a servant like me and you. He like us had to now depend of the Father for all his needs or He would not have been a man like us. He had to grow like any other child, He like all other men had to look and pray to His father or He did not become man. Either Jesus is equal with His Father or the bible can’t be counted on for the truth. You have a decision to make. Who or what you believe in, the clearly written word of God that states that Jesus is God or the apostate Jewish religious rulers who says that Jesus is a blasphemer for claiming to be equal with God. You had better make that decision based on the written word of God and not on your intellect, or “highly developed thought” or you will find yourself crucifying the Lord a second time for blasphemy along with the apostate religious rulers who crucified Him the first time. The Lord is not a blasphemer, He is equal with God! Be careful my friend, you are holding company with some very bad characters!
@ Trinity Explained Ok, I’m going to address you question point by point and I expect you to go back and address the points I made point by point and any point I make any from this point forward. What I am not going to do is address your point and you ignore mine and rush on to your next point, I’ve see that happen to many times in these discussions. John 17:3, the Father is the only true God! Now that’s a legitimate question, the same question the disciples asked, we know you are the Son of God, but reveal the father to us. Now Jesus did not point to another when answering their question, He pointed to Himself. He said when you have seen me you have seen God, not one like God, but God. Not some god with a small “G” but the Father Himself. They were not asking about some God with a small ‘G’ or god like but the Father. If Jesus and the Father are not one, then how is this not blasphemy, the very charge that was leveled against Him by the Synagogue of Satan. So, your statement that the Father is the only true God and not Jesus himself is only partly true. Jesus never said “and not Himself” you added that to the verse of scripture. You state: “You also didn’t respond to the evidence presented that there exists a plurality of good and evil gods. The fact the Jesus is called “god” does not automatically make him equal to His Father.” But I did respond to your statement that because Jesus is called God doesn’t make Him equal with God. Where it states that it was not robbery to be equal with God. What any of your angels with a small “g” can make that claim without finding themselves in hell? Jesus told the Synagogue of Satan, “before Abraham was” “I AM” not I was, but I AM! Who is I AM, I Am is God. The Synagogue of Satan [the apostate priest of King Solomon’s Temple] were looking to make the charge of blasphemy against the Lord, and the Lord did not back down from that challenge. He declared “I AM” But if you are going to ignore the clear statement of the word of though God that though “it was not robbery to be equal with God, but He humble himself and became a man then you really don’t believe in the word of God. Here it is clearly stated that He is equal with God and you reject it you are not in a search for the truth. It is here, at or before His incarnation where we see who He is and what He is before we can get to John 17:3 and lift that out of its context and create an entire doctrine around it. Now I intend to address each of your points point by point, but we are not going to run pass this to get to your next point, address my response here and then we will move on to your next point. It is at the incarnation that we must start, if not its like reading your favorite spy novel and starting in the middle of the book instead of at the beginning. So let’s stay here for a while and see if we can get some understanding of this.
@ Trinity Explained You claim that Jesus did not say He was the Father, He did say “when you have seen me, you've seen the Father.” I’m not invalidates hundreds of verses of scripture, but quoting the Lord. Jesus is not the Father, but He and the Father are of the same essence seeing as how he proceeded from the Father, and if he is the Son of the Father He is all that His father is. I repeat what I said originally so that we are clear about what I said. I said, in order to understand the Trinity, we must get some understanding what God is, and the only way to do that is to go to the word of God. God is described as fire and flames, He’s also described as Spirit. I said, spirit is not as easy to understand because we also flesh, but fire is much more easy to understand because we deal with it on a daily basis. “Our God is a consuming fire.” I said, that consuming fire is one, but if need be it can be three in creating its heavenly family or it can be twelve in order to indwell the twelve disciples. I said, that if there are one billion saved people in the world that is indwelled by the flame that God is, The Holy Spirit, then that single flame, that Holy Spirit, can became billions of indulvisal flames to indwell each saved person. I asked, which flame that indwelled twelve disciples were not the Spirit of God? And again, I ask you that same question. You cannot limit the fiery flame that the infinite God is with your finite mind and interpretation from your “highly developed thought” your intellect, and claim that you know what it cannot do. You are taking too much upon yourself to claim that flame that God is cannot be one three or any number and yet remain one. People make the claim that there’s nothing that God can’t do, nothing is impossible with God. He’s God! O’ but He can’t divide Himself into three and yet remain one; but they just said there’s nothing He can’t do; which is it? Is He limited or not. The Holy Trinity represents the Family of God, all three are presented to us as being eternal, only God is eternal, all the other little small “g” gods are created beings and are not eternal. But the Son is eternal, He had no beginning and no end: John 1:1 further explains this, in the beginning was God and his word, as long as there was God, there was His word, so God’s word is as eternal as He is. Now that eternal word was made flesh and dwelled among us. At what point did God’s eternal Word stop being eternal? We create our children from the physical seed that God placed in man. We certainly wouldn’t expect God’s heavenly family to come about in the same manner. As for Jesus the word says He change not. One thing that the Christian world and unbelieving world [the occult] agree on, though they don’t agree in much else, is that God’s image on earth [man] is a triune being, made up of spirit, body and soul, triune! So, if the word of God states that He wrapped his word in flesh and that eternal word became a man, then that Son of God was a triune being. If he change not as scripture says, then He was a triune being before coming to this earth, how could God’s image on earth be triune if God is not triune, then it would not be in the images of God. Did you know that the foundation of the Temple of God, King Solomon’s temple is triune? The Trinity is imbedded in the temple. In the Holy of Holies there was a cube each. The temple had cube of twenty cubes. Each of these twenty had three parts to it. These parts are: The Court, the Holy Place and the Sanctuary. There were three chambers around the temple. The Brazen Sea had three thousand baths with a line of thirty cubits with three hundred knops. [1 Kings 7:24]. Its foundation was twelve oxen (3x4); three looking north, three looking west, three looking south, and three looking east. Notice that in the foundation, the support structure had three beings seeing into all four corners of the earth. This represents the all seeing eyes of God, only God can see into all four corners of the earth. But notice, instead of there being only one being seeing into the four corners of the earth, there are three! That’s a triune being in the foundation that support the entire structure. Not only is the Trinity embedded in the Temple of the Lord, but everything around you is triune.Even non-believing scientist attest to the triune universe, they claim that every thing in the universe is made up of three things. You, me the clouds, you car, your computer, everything is made up of just three things. Our world is the “Third” planet from the sun. Jesus raised “three” people from the dead. Jesus fell “three” times carrying His cross to skull hill. Peter denied the Lord “three” times. After the resurrection Peter had to reconfirm his love for all three of the family of God. I’m sure you know the story, The Lord asked Peter, do you loved Me? Peter replies, yes Lord I love you. So Peter reconferms his love for one in the Family of God. but that was not the only one that Peter denied. So, now the Lord ask Peter a second time; Peter, do you love me? Peter is in pain now, the Lord who know all asks Peter a second time do he love him, as if He’s not sure if Peter truly love him. But what peter doesn’t realize is on that fateful day he did not only deny Jesus but the entire family of God. Father Son and Holy Spirit. So, now the Lord ask Peter a “Third” time; do you love Me? I can imagine that Peter was at the point of despair at this time. Peter respond, Lord you know everything, you know I love you, how could you ask me a “third time” do I love you? What Peter didn’t realize is that each denial was of one in the family of God, and each must be told of his love to each one he denied. The Trinity is all over the bible and the entire universe. The beautiful color videos on your computer and TV screen is derived from only “three” basic colors; red, blue and Green. Red for the color of the blood of Christ that saves mankind, blue for the beautiful sky on a beautiful day, green for the beautiful earth under our feet. The entire universe is triune! There are three types of flesh, fish, fowl and land animals. There are three types of light in the sky; the Sun, moon and stars, the source of life [water] exist in three states; solid, liquid and gas. The entire universe is triune! Jesus was in the heart of the earth for three days. There were three holy feast unto the Lord. For the Hebrews to sacrifice unto the Lord they had to take a three-day into the wildness. Satan Tempt the Lord “three” times. All is triune! There are “three” that bear witness in heaven, Jonah was in the belly of the fish for three days. The Lord’s guarantee to Abraham to fulfill his promise. "And the Lord said unto him, I am the Lord that brought thee out of ur of the Chaldees, to give thee this land to inherit it. And he said Lord GOD, whereby shall I know that I shall inherit it? And he said unto him, take me an heifer of three years old and a she goat of three years old and a ram of "three years old" and a turtledove, and a young pigeon. [Gen 15:7-9]. "And the LORD appeared unto him in the plains of Mamre: and he sat in the tent door in the heat of the day; and he lift up his eyes and looked, and, lo, three men stood by him; and when he saw them he ran to meet them from the tent door, and bowed himself toward the ground. [Gen 18:1-2]. Three months after the Israelites left Egypt they met the Lord. Three days after that Moses went into the mountain to receive The Ten commandments. God instituted three holy feasts. They were to build a tabernacle three cubits high. There is a three-day waiting period before one is made clean after touching a dead body. The spies brought back fruit from the promise land to show how good it was. How many types of fruit did they bring back? They brought back three types of fruit: Grapes, figs, pomegranates. [Num 13:23]. As witness to the divine perfection of land that was given by the hand of The Perfect Triune God. And the LORD said unto Moses, go unto the people, and sanctify them today and tomorrow, against the "third day" for the "third day" the LORD will come down in the sight of all the people upon Mount Sinai. [Exo 19:11]. Paul was blind for “three days” after coming face to face with the Triune God; Jesus the Christ! Noah had three sons which repopulated the entire earth! Three times a year shall all thy males shall appear unto me in the year” [Exo 23:17] And six branches shall come out of the sides of it; three branches of the out of one side, and three branches of the candlestick out of the other side.” [Exo 25:32] And thou shalt make an altar of shittin wood, five cubits long, and five cubits broad; the altar shall be foursquare: and the height thereof shall be three cubits.” [Exo 27:1] The hangings of one side of the gate shall be fifteen cubits: their pillars three, and three sockets three.” [Exo 27:14] On the other side shall be hangings of fifteen cubits: their pillars three, and their sockets three.”[Exo 27:15] “And the children of Levi did according to the words of Moses: and there fell of the people that day about three thousand men.” [Exo 32:28] “And she shall continue in the blood of her purifying three and thirty days; she shall touch no hollowed thing, nor come into the sanctuary, until the days [33 days] of her purifying be fulfilled. [Levi 12:4] Then I will command my blessing upon you in the sixth [2x3] year, and it shall bring forth fruit for three years. [Levi 25:21] At the end of three years thou shalt bring forth all the tithe of thine increase the same year and shalt lay it up within thy gates.” [Deu 14:28] Thy shalt separate three cities for thee in the midst of thy land, which the LORD thy God giveth thee to possess it.” [Deu 19:2]
@ Trinity Explained You state: “You wrote, “So, your statement that the Father is the only true God and not Jesus himself is only partly true. Jesus never said ‘and not Himself’ you added that to the verse of scripture.” “I made a logical deduction because Jesus called the Father, “the only true God” (John 17:3). This excludes Himself! The word “only” means the Father is the only God. This was not an isolated statement. When the rich young man called Jesus, “good teacher,” (Mark 10:17), not wishing to take any glory for Himself because the Father is greater (John 10:29, 14:28 1 Corinthians 3:23, 11:3, 15:24-28 Ephesians 4:6) Jesus said, “why do you call me good? No one is good except God alone” (Mark 10:17). Jesus is clearly not “God alone.” There are more New Testament verses that teach that the one God is the Father: John 5:44, 12:28-34; Romans 3:30; 1 Corinthians 8:4-6; Galatians 3:20, 1 Timothy 2:3-5.” So , now according to your logic, Jesus the Christ was not good, yet he according to my logic he is pure “good” and perfection. And you claim I’m changing the word of God. Put your thinking hat on, the Lord ask the man a question; why do you call me “Good?” is Jesus denying that He is Good, when He’s the perfect and spotless lamb of God? Your logic is failing you my friend. I keep telling you that your logic, your intellect, your “highly developed thoughts” will not lead you to the truth, but block the light of heaven as we clearly see here. Anytime you can believe that the Christ is not “good” there is something wrong with your logic and your “highly developed thoughts” your intellect, as is fully on display here! Now I’m not even going to address the rest of what you have here because if you come out denying the goodness the Christ, everything that follows is in error. You can only go from error to error when you deny the goodness of the sacrificial Lamb of God. What God says is good, you say its not good, and you say I’m changing the word of God. No, it is your great intellect and perfect logic that is changing the word of God. You are all over the place with scripture dropping, but you don’t put a couple of paragraphs together to explain those verses of scriptures. Surely one of such great intellect and perfect logic can do as much. Now , according to you, the perfect Lamb of God is not Good. Do you see what you do to the “Word” of God when you begin to twist it to fit some false doctrine? Next I'll address your next point!
Please correct me if I’m wrong but whenI read the account I read nothing indicating that Thomas bowed down before Jesus as the speaker stated. Possible he misspoke? What do you think?
John 7:16King James Version (KJV)16 Jesus answered them, and said, My doctrine is not mine, but his that sent me.John 8:18King James Version (KJV)18 I am one that bear witness of myself, and the Father that sent me beareth witness of me.John 13:16King James Version (KJV)16 Verily, verily, I say unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord; neither he that is sent greater than he that sent him.John 17:3King James Version (KJV)3 And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.John 14:28King James Version (KJV)28 Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto you. God cannot be a man was never a man.Hosea 11:9King James Version (KJV)9 I will not execute the fierceness of mine anger, I will not return to destroy Ephraim: for I am God, and not man; the Holy One in the midst of thee: and I will not enter into the city.Numbers 23:19King James Version (KJV)19 God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good? Then we have this which proves God is not a man. John 4:24King James Version (KJV)24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. So how can the son be greater than the Father God, and how can the son sent himself, the sender is greater than the one he sent. Never did God says Jesus is God the Father or himself. There is no Trinity, Its God the Father and Jesus the Son, and God sends his Holy Spirit into Jesus. There is no 3rd person of the Trinity, the Holy Spirit comes from God himself. Where is the throne of the Holy Spirit in heaven, we have Jesus at the right hand of the Father and the Father but we do not see the throne of the Holy Spirit. In the light of these scriptures from the bible we see the Trinity idea conflicts which a lot of the written scriptures itself, but when we read Jesus as the Son of God, it makes sense why he is not seated on the throne of God but on his right hand side. Trinitarians will have to perform some serious verbal gymnastics multiple somersaults to overcome what is written in the bible. Trinity is a product of the Roman Catholic Church which is a lie and unreliable interpretations of the doctrine of the Holy God, the Father of Jesus Christ, the son of man.Read more Show less

Jesus is Lord and he would have prevented people from worshipping him if he were not God because worship belongs to God alone and all through out scripture Jesus said he and the father are one read john 17 and you will see who Jesus is when he says that he had glory with the father during creation and Jesus said I am all through out scripture Jesus told the Jewish rulers that before Abraham was I Am and to claim to be Gods son makes u co equal with God.

The TRINITY is The Most Authentic Doctrine in Christianity. I was born again in October 2000. On the night of Thursday April 1, 2004 I had dream. A dream because I appeared to be 7 years old playing in a small field around 6:30 in the evening with my friends. Then there was a loud and clear voice from the sky saying “hear comes Almighty God and His Son Jesus Christ and The Holy Spirit. We all looked up and I saw Two Persons and a form like a mirage or shining cloud behind the two person. It is impossible to distinguish between the two persons. They were very tall in magnificent Robes. My interested at that time was how they seemed to be gliding in the air! I want to see their feet. I thought in myself. Fortunately and to my amazement, they came down and stood before me. The leader took short stick like a “relay baton” and touched my chest with it and said “We Bless you” and floated away! From that time my life is completely changed. A lot of things have happened to my life which I cannot write for lack of space.Glory to The Father and To The Son and To The Holy Spirit. Amen and Amen 🙏🙏🙏.
@@TheRastacabbage Stephen saw one...Jesus sitting on the right hand of God..God is a spirit and cannot see a spirit...when he saw Jesus on God's right hand ..right hand has always depicted power and authority.
@@TheRastacabbage Does a Christian need to believe in the Trinity to be saved?
Man o man, I love him, yes I know he’s with the Father, praise God , Father God cover please with your hedge of protection over this ministry and all your precious Christians, Amen and Amen 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏, please Father excuse my dumbness 👳🏻♀️ 73
John 7/16Therefore Jesus answered them and said, “My teaching is not of Myself, but of the One having sent Me. 17If anyone desires to do His will, he will know concerning the teaching, whether it is from God, or I speak from Myself. - God the Son the liar or the Son of God full of grace and truth
God became man just once, the incarnation. Now the living Word is once again, ONE with the Father in Spirit. (glorified, omnipotent, omniscient, omnipresent) (John 4) Every discussion on the Godhead, like this one, everyone is incorrectly thinking 3-dimensional, time and space. Try to think in terms of consciousness instead of location and see if it becomes much clearer. God is not sitting literally on a 3-dimentional throne. Those were visions to help us conceive the infinite and divine. Jesus does not really have a sword coming out of His mouth, and He does not wear a rob He drenched in blood, and a tattoo on His thigh saying, “the word of God.” When Christ returned to earth the second time, He appeared to Paul as a light above the brightness of the sun that circled all around him. He had no form as a man. God emptied himself of his glory just once. Why would He ever do such a thing again? A human Jesus ruling the earth over carnal flesh is the Jewish idea of Messiah, a man like being once again. Timothy 6:14-16 (NKJV) 14 that you keep this commandment without spot, blameless until our Lord Jesus Christ's appearing, 15 which He will manifest in His own time, He who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings and Lord of lords, 16 who alone has immortality, dwelling in unapproachable light, whom no man has seen or can see, to whom be honor and everlasting power. Amen.
Curious. How he describes the Trinity is actually nearly identical to how most Oneness Pentecostals describe the Godhead, though I think the Views of the Oneness camp might more closely mirror EO trinity teachings. How he describes the teachings of Sibelius completely contradicts Oneness Pentecostal teaching.
Many historians and religious scholars attest to the influence of Greek or Platonic philosophy in the development and acceptance of the Trinity doctrine in the fourth century. But what did such philosophy entail, and how did it come to affect the doctrine of the Trinity? Philosophical speculation later led Greek thinkers to refine Plato's concepts into what they referred to as three "substances"… the supreme God or "the One," from which came "mind" or "thought" and a "spirit" or "soul." In their thinking, all were different divine "substances" or aspects of the same God. Another way of expressing this was as "good," the personification of that good, and the agent by which that good is carried out. Again, these were different divine aspects of that same supreme good, distinct and yet unified as one. Such metaphysical thinking was common among the intelligentsia of the Greek world and carried over into the thinking of the Roman world of the New Testament period and succeeding centuries. As the last of the apostles began to die off, some of this metaphysical thinking began to affect and infiltrate the early Church… primarily through those who had already begun to compromise with paganism. Here we see two distinct threads of Christianity split and developed separately… one true to the plain and simple teachings of the Bible and the other increasingly compromised with pagan thought and practices adopted from the Greco-Roman world. Paul warned Christians: “Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ.” (Colossians 2:8) Many of the church leaders who formulated the doctrine of the Trinity were steeped in Greek and Platonic philosophy, and this influenced their religious views and teaching. The language they used in describing and defining the Trinity is, in fact, taken directly from Platonic and Greek philosophy. The word trinity itself is neither biblical nor Christian. Rather, the Platonic term trias, from the word for three, was Latinized as trinitas … the latter giving us the English word trinity. "The Alexandria catechetical school, which revered Clement of Alexandria and Origen, the greatest theologian of the Greek Church, as its heads, applied the allegorical method to the explanation of Scripture. Its thought was influenced by Plato: its strong point was [pagan] theological speculations. Athanasius and the three Cappadocians [the men whose Trinitarian views were adopted by the Catholic Church at the Councils of Nicaea and Constantinople] had been included among its members" (Hubert Jedin, Ecumenical Councils of the Catholic Church: an Historical Outline, 1960, p. 28). "The doctrines of the Logos [i.e., the "Word," a designation for Christ in John 1] and the Trinity received their shape from Greek Fathers, who . . . were much influenced, directly or indirectly, by the Platonic philosophy . . . That errors and corruptions crept into the Church from this source can not be denied" (The New Schaff-Herzog Encyclopedia of Religious Knowledge, Samuel Macauley Jackson, editor, 1911, Vol. 9, p. 91). The preface to historian Edward Gibbons' History of Christianity sums up the Greek influence on the adoption of the Trinity doctrine by stating: "If Paganism was conquered by Christianity, it is equally true that Christianity was corrupted by Paganism. The pure Deism of the first Christians . . . was changed, by the Church of Rome, into the incomprehensible dogma of the trinity. Many of the pagan tenets, invented by the Egyptians and idealized by Plato, were retained as being worthy of belief" (1883, p. xvi).
The problem with the early church’s thinking, post apostles was they went to the drawing board (as RC explains here) and tried to explain the God of the universe so instead of leavings things as Jesus taught His disciples, the early church, post apostles where not satisfied with Christ teaching so they dabbled in platonism and Greek philosophy to explain the God of the universe. Right and what could wrong???
Tertullian (AD 160-225) was the first to use the term. greeks , rome? You can make up all kinds of stuff us saying thats how so and so came up with this or that. Hell is real.
In Genesis 1:1 it says, “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth”. The Bible interprets it’s self, if you continue to read. But for those who want to use Hebrew the word God is Logos, which is plural such as a: Family: Ephesians 3:14 For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, 15 Of whom the whole (family) in heaven and earth is named. (There is a family in heaven and earth). Or Church: Romans 12:5 So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another. Both family and church give the same example as ONE family with many members. Genesis 1:26 And God said, Let (us) make man in (our) image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. (Two beings or members of one family having a conversation about creation.) Genesis 3:22 And the Lord God said, Behold, the man is become as one of (us), to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever: (more than one, being) Isaiah says several times that the LORD our God is One. Isaiah 45:21 Tell ye, and bring them near; yea, let them take counsel together: who hath declared this from ancient time? who hath told it from that time? have not I the Lord (Jesus)? and there is no God else beside me; a just God and a Saviour (prophesied forward to Jesus Christ); there is none beside me. 22 Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else. We have established with scripture God is plural (more than one being or member) and we know for sure there are two because they were having a conversation), but at the same time they are One God. How can two members be One God? The only intelligent answer that can be understood by the human mind is that the word “God” is actually One family in heaven with more than one member. Just like our families on earth. The Bible say’s, “God is not a God of confusion”. If taught correctly (without ANY religions or their beliefs) every person, regardless of their religion, color, language, etc. can understand this, because God created the family in heaven and on earth, the Bible says so! John 1:18 No man hath seen God (the Father) at any time, (except) the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him. (No mention of the Holy Spirit) Again, we see the Bible says there are two (beings or members). Both the Father and the Son were spirit (without flesh and blood) before Jesus was manifested in the flesh upon the earth, as the Son of God. John 1:14 And the Word (the Son of God) was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. (2 beings or members, no mention of the Holy Spirit) That explains John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word (Jesus), and the Word (Jesus) was with God (the Father), and the Word (Jesus) was God (the Son). Both Father and Son are God! 2 The same (Jesus) was in the BEGINNING with (Father) God. Which corelates with Genesis 1:1, and no Holy Spirit is mentioned, or the third person of the trinity as you would say. 3 All things were made by him (Jesus); and without him was not any thing made that was made. The Father, gave everything to the Son. He spoke everything into being, and the Spirit of God the Father, was the power behind the Word that was spoken. These three agree as one The Father, his Son, Jesus Christ and the “POWER” of God the Father, His Holy Spirit. In the beginning there were two members, God the Father and the only begotten son (2 beings or members, both God) according to John 1:18 and John 1:1. Jesus came (declared, was brought forth, created, these words are synonymous, Colossians 2;15,16) and agree with John 1:18). Jesus is God, according to John 1:1 and God the Father is also God in John 1:1, among many other places. 2 John 1:3 Grace be with you, mercy, and peace, from God the Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father, in truth and love. Have you ever read this next passage, because I have been in a non denominational church for 30 years and I never heard it read. Proverbs 8:22 The Lord (Jesus called his Father Lord and God) possessed me (Jesus) in the beginning of his (Father God’s) way, before his works of old. 23 I (Jesus) was set up from everlasting, from the beginning, or ever (before) the earth was. 24 When there were no depths, I (Jesus) was brought forth; when there were no fountains abounding with water. 25 Before the mountains were settled, before the hills was I (Jesus) brought forth: 26 While as yet he (the Father) had not made the earth, nor the fields, nor the highest part of the dust of the world. 27 When he prepared the heavens, I (Jesus) was there: when he set a compass upon the face of the depth: 28 When he (Father) established the clouds above: when he strengthened the fountains of the deep: 29 When he gave to the sea his decree, that the waters should not pass his commandment: when he appointed the foundations of the earth: 30 Then I (Jesus) was by him (the Father), as one brought up with him: and I (Jesus) was daily his delight, rejoicing always before him; 31 Rejoicing in the habitable part of his earth; and my delights were with the sons of men. 32 Now therefore hearken unto me, O ye children: for blessed are they that keep my ways. 33 Hear instruction, and be wise, and refuse it not. No mention of the Holy Spirit, the third (person) of the trinity. What the trinity actually teaches is that there are three God’s, which are coequal, but try to convince people there are three “persons” each distinct beings. It can’t be comprehended by the human mind. The trinity religions also teach the trinity gods are coequal, which is not true according to scripture, which is clear when you stop taking verses out of context. The Bible says John 10:30 I am my Father are one. (two beings, no mention of the third person or trinity, But it does not say they are co-equal.) Jesus said my Father is greater than I. Jesus sits at the right hand of his Father. Jesus is the head of the Church and the Father is the head of Christ (not go equal). Only the Father know the time and hour of the return of Jesus Christ (not coequal). The Father and Son agree as one but the are not co-equal, even though they belong to the family of God, they have different positions, just like the family on earth. The husband and wife are one, but we have different positions. The Father is the head of the family. Jesus, in John explains that the father, gave him instructions and he learned obedience through suffering. Are the next few scriptures metaphors? There are only thrones mentioned for the Father and his Son, not the Holy Spirit. Hebrews 1:8 But unto the Son (Jesus) he (the Father) saith, Thy throne, O God (referring to Jesus), is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom. 9 Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God (thy Father), even thy God (Jesus’ God is the Father), hath anointed thee (Jesus, the Son of God) with the oil of gladness above thy fellows. Hebrew 1:5 For unto which of the angels said he (the Father) at any time, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son? (Father and Son = One family). (no Holy Spirit mentioned.) Hebrews 1:13 But to which of the angels said he (Father) at any time, Sit on my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool? Colossians 3:1 If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God (his Father).
Demetrius Dion There is One God, the Bible says in both Old and New Testament. In Genesis 1:1 “In the beginning” God created the heavens and the earth. It appears it is singular. But if you continue reading the Bible interprets there is more than one (being) because in verse 26 it’s says “Let US make man in OUR image. (Plural). At this point we do not know who the Us or Our are. We need the Bible to interpret it for us. Matthew, Mark and Luke are the synoptic books, they paint the same picture but from a slightly different view. Like witnessing the same car accident. Same accident, just from different view points. The book of John is different. Most of what is written in John can only be found in John. It was written that his disciples would believe John 20:31. John is a revelation or Commentary of Genesis 1. John 1:1 begins with “in the beginning”, taking you back to the “beginning”, in Genesis 1 to expand or reveal who God is. The beginning is also the beginning of generations (genealogy). The oldest male back to the beginning. John 1:1 “In the beginning” was the Word (Jesus), and the Word (Jesus) was with God (the Father) and the Word (Jesus) was God (the Son). 2 The same (Jesus) was in the beginning with God (the Father). 3 All things were made by him (Jesus); and without him was not any thing made that was made. Matthew 1:1, Luke 3:23 and John 1:1 are Genealogies. The Word (oldest male) back to the Father God. What most do not realize is In the book of John, Jesus came to introduce us to HIS Father. The word Father is written over 100 times in John and is used with a capital “F” unlike the OT, and when capitalized in the NT it’s always referring to Jesus’ (heavenly) Father. If you read the book of John from beginning to end, you will see the Father & Son and their relationship & positions. 1 John 1 it is a commentary of John. 1John 1:1 That (Jesus) which was from “the beginning”, which we (apostles) have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life (Jesus); 2 (For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and shew unto you that eternal life, WHICH WAS WITH THE FATHER, AND WAS MANIFEST INTO US;) (Notice this Father & Son were in the beginning) 3 That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye (you) also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ. There is two beings not one. There is One God. For this to simply make sense is to realize God created the family and we are identified by our last names. Perfect picture and example everyone can understand (the design of the family. It’s religion that makes it difficult because they are all deceivers. Also, the Bible says that the husband and wife become one. We are two members of one and the same family, same last name. Ephesians 3:14 For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, 15 Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, There is one family of God in heaven. Here is scripture. The Father is God (the NT tells us) and Jesus sits at his right hand. God the Father calls Jesus God in Hebrews 1:8 But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom. 9 Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, even thy God, (His Father)hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows. The Son is God (Emmanuel, God with us referring to Jesus, which was prophesied in Isaiah 7:14. He is the Son of God and he is God. The Bible tells us. Abba (name). Father (position) God Jesus (name). Son (position) God 1 Corinthians 11:3 But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God (Father). Two members = One family! John 5:18 Therefore the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he not only had broken the sabbath, but said also that God was his Father, making himself equal with God. Jesus was equal in nature but not in position, Jesus said the Father and I are one, he also said the Father is greater than I. I believe the Holy Ghost is the Fathers Spirit. These three The Father, Son & Holy Spirit agree as one. If John 1:1 is a genealogy it proves the Trinity false. Only the Father and the Word are present. Now that said, what I believe the Bible teaches is that Jesus was the creator of all things. John 3:35 The Father loveth the Son, and hath given all things into his hand. Jesus spoke all things into being. The Lord of the Old Testament is the Lord Jesus of the New Testament. One Lord! Hebrews 1:10 And, Thou, Lord, in the beginning hast laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the works of thine hands: John 5:20 For the Father loveth the Son, and sheweth him all things that himself doeth: and he will shew him greater works than these, that ye may marvel. John 5:22 For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son: John 5:23 That all men should honour the Son, even as they honour the Father. He that honoureth not the Son honoureth not the Father which hath sent him. John 5:26 For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself; John 5:30 I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me. The Father used his Son to create all things. We do not see the Father in the OT we see the Lord God and all titles prophesying to the future as Jesus Christ. No one has seen the Father, he is an invisible God. Moses and the seventy saw Jesus. Melchizedek was Jesus the high priest of God and further revealed in Hebrews. The rock in the wilderness was Christ the NT reveals. The I AM I. The OT is the I am the bread of life, I am the light of the world, I am the way, the truth and the life, this is Jesus in the book of John. Jesus is the Lord God of the OT that comes to reveal his Father in the NT.
@@rhondahauser6443 Nope. It didnt bless him nor has it you! You are a heretic. You cannot rightly divide Gods words because you do not have the indwelling illuminating spirit. Sadly you will perish unless you repent. Your 'mental descent' will not grant you eternal life.
Trese Drek Where does the “Trinity” doctrine come from? Most Christians are Catholic Christian, even though you do not realize it, instead of followers of Jesus Christ and his teaching alone. The reason why I say this is because most believe it is more important to follow the fundamental beliefs of the Catholic Church, also adopted by Martin Luther (Protestants), than the Bible, because that is what we are taught from pulpits. The Ecumenical creeds is an umbrella term used in (Martin) Lutheran tradition to refer to THREE Catholic creeds: the Nicene Creed, the Apostles' Creed and the Athanasian Creed. These creeds (a system of Christian or other religious beliefs) are also known as the catholic or universal creeds. Also called the apostles creeds. Matin Luther broke off from the Catholic Church but adopted some of their fundamental false beliefs. They believe the ecumenical Creeds, none of which are written in scripture by the 12 apostles in the NT, which is heresy, false teaching. John 17:17 Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth. The Trinity, which is in the Catholic Athanasian creed (google it) it is a man made heresy, plain foolishness when given the opportunity to read it in it’s entirety. Remember this scripture. 20 Knowing this FIRST, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any PRIVATE interpretation. God did not reveal anything that he hasn’t revealed to you and I in scripture. THE BIBLE gives us the interpretation of every word and doctrine of Jesus Christ. If the Word is not written it is a false teaching . Do not be deceived! Matthew 4:4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God. Jesus then gives us another principle to follow. There must be a witness to the word and doctrine of Jesus. John 8:17 It is also written in your law, that the testimony of two men is true. Who are the witnesses? Peter to the Jews and Paul to the Gentiles, their doctrine is exactly the same as Jesus or it’s false doctrine. Some will say that’s your interpretation, no that’s why Jesus gave witnesses to his teaching and doctrine to eliminate man’s interpretation, but we are not taught this principle in church. 1. The word or doctrine must be written in scripture. 2 Peter 1:20 & Mathew 4:4 2. The word or doctrine must have two or three witnesses. John 8:17 3. Jesus does not imply doctrines, he speaks them and then gives us an example. Hebrews 1:2 (The Father) Hath (has) in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds; Let me show you how true doctrine is simply established. John the Baptist: Matthew 3:1 3 In those days came John the Baptist, preaching in the wilderness of Judaea, 2 And saying, Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. 6 And were baptized of him in Jordan, confessing their sins. 8 Bring forth therefore fruits meet for repentance: Jesus: Matthew 4:17 From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. Before the cross Peter: Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. Paul: Acts 20:21 Testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ. Peter and Paul after the ascension of Jesus, exactly the same doctrine of Jesus. See how simple true doctrine is established. This is your fundamental doctrine! It’s the first gospel message taught by Jesus and then witnessed by his apostles, written in scripture. This should be your fundamental doctrine, which is easily understood, not the TRINITY, which is heresy.
There is no such word as trinity in the entire bible. You would think that Almighty God would have at least mentioned it.That's why they have to call it a mystery, because there's no scripture for their belief.
GOD explained in genesis, 26And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. 27So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him. First you will notice GOD speaking in the plural form, in regards to himself and to man (which translates as Adam in Hebrew) as them. Then GOD switches back to the singular saying GOD created man in his own image, in the image of GOD created he him. Male and female created he them. Eve was created from Adam, Eve is Called Adam (one being). Adam called eve woman for she is from man. (Man kind) and let man leave his mother and father and cleave onto his wife that two become one flesh. Two are one. In like manner the word of GOD came forth from The bosom of GOD the father, one with GOD the LORD most high. Two persons in one. Adam (man kind ) male and female, woman came forth from man and two become one. Hope this helps you understand. Man kind one being, two persons as one. The nature (Essence of GOD) GOD the father, GOD the son, GOD the Holy Spirit in perfect unity loving relationship with one another and these three are one GOD. Pray the Holy Spirit reveal the son onto you. GOD bless you and your family.
@@kennyjansen7536 No, its a mystery because we don't completely understand it. Do you completely understand how God created the universe from nothing? Do you question that, and expect to have some thorough scientific explanation in the Bible about it before you believe it? I don't think so.
Okay, if God is one in essence (category A) and three in person (category B), then there needs to be some discernible difference between essence and person. What is that difference, and what is the biblical explanation for that difference? Like, how does the Bible describe this distinction? Or, if the Bible doesn't directly describe the distinction, what indication does it give from which we should necessarily conclude that there is this distinction?
Which god? The devil is called the god of this world. There is no trinity, Jesus was created by Yehovah, he is the only begotten son of God (Yehovah). Read Col ch 1 verse 12 to 18.
I think he did quite a bit Dwight. In this sermon, he's giving Greek words, from the NT. How much of RC have you listened to? Give him more of your time and I think you'll see it.
The sermon was based on the history of the Trinity. The doctrine itself can easily be defended from scripture and in fact, the beginning of this video is based on John 1:1-5 which cannot be understood outside the doctrine of the Trinity.
I thank God for the teaching I am getting in my last days according to the average life stand. I was in churches so many years with bad teachings to in fact wrong teachings. Was even shund for asking questions. It came to the point I had started to belive my eyes were covered and that I may even be a vasle created unto destruction. Teaching and McArthurs would have been found years ago. Guess it just was not my time. I pray that I am right about that.
I'm 62 and have been saved since I was 32 but am just now getting to hear these great sermons and to understand these doctrines, so you are not alone. Everything comes in its time and we don't all get the same teaching at the same time. I am just thankful I am getting it now. Better late than never. God bless you!
As you well know, to even question "the Trinity" is like lighting a fuse. Someone's bound to explode with anger and accusations. But . . . being mortal as we are, we don't "get" what it's like to be spirit and are not qualified to explain spiritual things. *But we can find plenty of trinity non-evidence in the Bible.* ▬ Most New Testament letters have opening statements such as "Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ." All these opening statements *_include both God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ_* but all of them *_leave out the holy spirit._* None of the introductions mention or include or address the holy spirit as a person. I believe this is good evidence the apostles did not believe the holy spirit was a "third person." ▬ John 14:23 sheds more light on the topic. Here Jesus explains that both the Father and He (referring to Jesus himself) would come and dwell in us. *They - the two - would make their "abode" in us:* ⚫ "Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him." (John 14:23) (No mention of the holy spirit as a third person.) ▬ In 2 Corinthians 6:16-18 we find a similar statement: the Father - "the Lord Almighty" - will dwell in us and walk in us: ⚫ "And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty." (2 Corinthians 6:16-18) ▬ God is a spirit (John 4:24) and is holy. When God dwells in us, we have the holy spirit dwelling in us. We are His "temple." ▬ We see God as "us" back in Genesis: ⚫ "And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth." (Gen 1:26) ⚫ "And the LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever:" (Gen 3:22). ▬ Who is the "us"? It is the Father, and the "Word": who was with God from the beginning . . . And was God . . . and was made flesh: ⚫ "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made." (John 1:1-3) ⚫ "And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth." (John 1:14) (No mention of the holy spirit as a third person.) ▬ Jesus said: ⚫ "I and my Father are one." (John 10:30) (No mention of the holy spirit as a third person.) ⚫ "But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him." So can you explain to me the doctrine of the trinity please 😊 i dond understand it.
?

@A D The Lord Jesus Himself taught that the Father alone is the one true God (John 17:1, 3). The apostles taught the same doctrine (I Cor. 8:6). So Trinity is directly going against the teaching of the Lord Jesus and His apostle's. And this is based on God's declaration: "and THERE IS NO OTHER GOD BESIDES ME...
The Father is God
The Son is God
The Holy Spirit is God
The Bible describes and calls each of them God.
Read and study the Bible by itself. Do not be like these 2 heretics.
@@Makeitmakesensejo You do not have to be a Trinitarian to be Christian.

My own explanation of the trinity is more practical rather than biblical. Even so, the biblical explanation remains superior because it is realized through the word of God.
Four commonly agreed upon attributes of God:
God is perfect.
God knows all things perfectly.
Third, God exists everywhere, all at the same time.
Fourth, God is perfect love and loves perfectly.
My assertion is that:
If three beings had these four traits, it is reasonable to say they are all three God.
I reason that:
Because all three are different persons (the who's) that are perfect, all-knowing, exist everywhere at the same time, and are perfect love and love perfectly, it is reasonable that they would all three would come to the same exact conclusions, would have a physical presence everywhere at the same time, and have a perfect love for His creation as well as each person in the trinity. As a side, I find it interesting to think about some of the potential differences between the members of the trinity, such as creativity and the different roles of each member, i.e., Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
My conclusion:
Each member would think perfect thoughts.
Full disclosure:
Like all analogies from a finite mind, my analogy will eventually break down if carried out too far, but I think it lays out the groundwork for the understanding of a God-head trinity.

Unless you acknowledge that Jesus Christ is God your sins will not be forgiven.

What are your questions? I'll do my best to explain it to you.
Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’" Mark 12:28-30
That should always be your starting point.
2 Timothy 5 "They will avert their ears from the Truth and they will turn to extravagant tales."
And this caused confusion
The church leaders had no idea the relationship between the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. So out of confusion they began coming up with theories, marking out their positions, kicking each other out of the church, and breaking up (this is one of the things that caused the East and West schism which was the break of communion between the Catholic church and other churches)
and they told everyone who didn't believe in their doctrine that they would go to hell.

It’s ironically this pastor is trying to defend the indefensible ( the trinity ) which is late addition & he quote ( 1 John 5 - 7 ) this verse is not in revised standard of the bible because is not found in earlier manuscripts & yet this man is trying to defend it & preach it
What other verses would you like to remove from scripture?
@tanger news fair enough.. I too believe the closer we get to the autographa the better, although most reputable bibles will have the footnote at the bottom stating “some manuscripts read…; xyz manuscript omits “such and such”.
None the less… what about Genesis 1:26? Who’s “Us”?

People claim that the Holy Trinity is hard to understand, but to me it's one of the easiest of all bible doctrines to understand if we allow God to reveal it through His Word. The first thing I had to do was try to find out what God is in clear and easy to understand language. In that search I found that the one description of what God is; is fire.
Now that’s something we all have firsthand knowledge of, now God is also described as Spirit, but spirit is not as easy to understand because we are also flesh and not pure spirit; so I thought I would stick to fire, that I can understand a bit more because I deal with that on a daily basis. But does the bible state clearly that God is fire:
“Our God is a consuming fire.” [Hebrews 12:29] KJV
So now I had to ask myself, is this metaphoric language or is it to be taken literally. I must find some verse of scripture to clear this up. I now come across:
“Then I beheld, and lo a likeness as the appearance of fire: from the appearance of his loins even downward, fire; and from his loins even upward, as the appearance of brightness, as the colour of amber.” [Eze 8:2] KJV
So now I see that this is not metaphoric language, but is to be taken literally; our God is a consuming fire.
I must continue my investigation, I search scripture and come across this:
“And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.” [2:1-4]
There that flame again, or is this twelve different gods?

I think your first problem is with trying to understand God with your intellect, intellect as I understand it is the power of knowing as distinguished from the power to feel and to will.
With their “highly developed thoughts” the intellectuals block the light of heaven and turns to each other’s “highly developed thoughts.” You never come to an understanding of who and what God is by using your intellect, you must reason through scripture on God’s “highly developed thoughts.”
Man’s highly developed thoughts destroys the simplicity of the gospel, if God states in is His word that He is fire, then to begin to understand what God is, we really don’t have to have highly developed thoughts, but prayerfully peer into the flame that God is and let God reshape your highly developed flawed thoughts with His truly highly developed thoughts. Lucifer promised man that these highly developed thoughts, this “knowledge” will make you into a God. Be careful with those highly developed thoughts my friend!
God Bless and Enlighten!

Do you really know Jesus?
“If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.”
8”Philip saith unto him, Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us.”
“9Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father?” [John 14:7-9] KJV
When Jesus responded to the request he in no uncertain terms were claiming to be God.
“Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:
“Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God.”
Scripture is clear, its talking about two different beings and yet the two are one.
Now the next verse of scripture explains the meaning of this:
“But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.” [Phil 2:7-8]
Look at what took place here; all the power of God He had, He had to strip himself of to become a man, yes this one who is equal with God, He who created the universe and you and me gave up that glory and became a servant like me and you.

Ok, I’m going to address you question point by point and I expect you to go back and address the points I made point by point and any point I make any from this point forward.
You state:
“You also didn’t respond to the evidence presented that there exists a plurality of good and evil gods. The fact the Jesus is called “god” does not automatically make him equal to His Father.”
But I did respond to your statement that because Jesus is called God doesn’t make Him equal with God.

You claim that Jesus did not say He was the Father, He did say “when you have seen me, you've seen the Father.” I’m not invalidates hundreds of verses of scripture, but quoting the Lord.
But the Son is eternal, He had no beginning and no end:
John 1:1 further explains this, in the beginning was God and his word, as long as there was God, there was His word, so God’s word is as eternal as He is.

Three months after the Israelites left Egypt they met the Lord. Three days after that Moses went into the mountain to receive The Ten commandments. God instituted three holy feasts. They were to build a tabernacle three cubits high. There is a three-day waiting period before one is made clean after touching a dead body.

And the LORD said unto Moses, go unto the people, and sanctify them today and tomorrow, against the "third day" for the "third day" the LORD will come down in the sight of all the people upon Mount Sinai. [Exo 19:11].

And thou shalt make an altar of shittin wood, five cubits long, and five cubits broad; the altar shall be foursquare: and the height thereof shall be three cubits.” [Exo 27:1]
The hangings of one side of the gate shall be fifteen cubits: their pillars three, and three sockets three.” [Exo 27:14]
On the other side shall be hangings of fifteen cubits: their pillars three, and their sockets three.”[Exo 27:15]
“And the children of Levi did according to the words of Moses: and there fell of the people that day about three thousand men.” [Exo 32:28]
“And she shall continue in the blood of her purifying three and thirty days; she shall touch no hollowed thing, nor come into the sanctuary, until the days [33 days] of her purifying be fulfilled. [Levi 12:4]
Then I will command my blessing upon you in the sixth [2x3] year, and it shall bring forth fruit for three years. [Levi 25:21]
At the end of three years thou shalt bring forth all the tithe of thine increase the same year and shalt lay it up within thy gates.” [Deu 14:28]
Thy shalt separate three cities for thee in the midst of thy land, which the LORD thy God giveth thee to possess it.” [Deu 19:2]
@ Trinity Explained
You state:
“You wrote, “So, your statement that the Father is the only true God and not Jesus himself is only partly true. Jesus never said ‘and not Himself’ you added that to the verse of scripture.”
“I made a logical deduction because Jesus called the Father, “the only true God” (John 17:3). Jesus is clearly not “God alone.” There are more New Testament verses that teach that the one God is the Father: John 5:44, 12:28-34; Romans 3:30; 1 Corinthians 8:4-6; Galatians 3:20, 1 Timothy 2:3-5.”
So , now according to your logic, Jesus the Christ was not good, yet he according to my logic he is pure “good” and perfection.

Yes he misspoke (lied), the bible doesn't teach there is such thing as a trinity
If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I.Matthew 3:17King James Version (KJV)17 And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.Matthew 17:5King James Version (KJV)5 While he yet spake, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him.John 6:69King James Version (KJV)69 And we believe and are sure that thou art that Christ, the Son of the living God.John 9:35King James Version (KJV)35 Jesus heard that they had cast him out; and when he had found him, he said unto him, Dost thou believe on the Son of God?And the conclusion is Jesus said he is the Son of God, Peter says Jesus is the Son of God and God says Jesus is his son, So how can the Son be greater than the Father, Jesus also said God the father is greater than He.

If they were one, wouldn't you only see one? But like Stephen you saw the son on the right hand of the father. Completely seperate beings

@@S.R.M. the trinity is false doctrine. Christians don't believe in the trinity

God became man just once, the incarnation. Now the living Word is once again, ONE with the Father in Spirit. (glorified, omnipotent, omniscient, omnipresent) (John 4)
Every discussion on the Godhead, like this one, everyone is incorrectly thinking 3-dimensional, time and space.
Try to think in terms of consciousness instead of location and see if it becomes much clearer.
God is not sitting literally on a 3-dimentional throne. Those were visions to help us conceive the infinite and divine.
Jesus does not really have a sword coming out of His mouth, and He does not wear a rob He drenched in blood, and a tattoo on His thigh saying, “the word of God.”
When Christ returned to earth the second time, He appeared to Paul as a light above the brightness of the sun that circled all around him. He had no form as a man.
God emptied himself of his glory just once. Why would He ever do such a thing again? A human Jesus ruling the earth over carnal flesh is the Jewish idea of Messiah, a man like being once again.
Timothy 6:14-16 (NKJV)
14 that you keep this commandment without spot, blameless until our Lord Jesus Christ's appearing,
15 which He will manifest in His own time, He who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings and Lord of lords,
16 who alone has immortality, dwelling in unapproachable light, whom no man has seen or can see, to whom be honor and everlasting power. Amen.
He appeared as a man in revelation to John. I think it was the last time Jesus appeared to anyone in the bible.
You post without giving RC Sproul a chance to respond.
Paul warned Christians: “Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ.” (Colossians 2:8)
Many of the church leaders who formulated the doctrine of the Trinity were steeped in Greek and Platonic philosophy, and this influenced their religious views and teaching.

What scriptural verse supports the Glori Patra?
In Genesis 1:1 it says, “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth”.
The Bible interprets it’s self, if you continue to read.
But for those who want to use Hebrew the word God is Logos, which is plural such as a:
Family: Ephesians 3:14 For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, 15 Of whom the whole (family) in heaven and earth is named. (There is a family in heaven and earth).
Or
Church: Romans 12:5 So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another.
(Two beings or members of one family having a conversation about creation.)
Genesis 3:22 And the Lord God said, Behold, the man is become as one of (us), to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever: (more than one, being)
Isaiah says several times that the LORD our God is One.
(No mention of the Holy Spirit)
Again, we see the Bible says there are two (beings or members).
(2 beings or members, no mention of the Holy Spirit)
That explains John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word (Jesus), and the Word (Jesus) was with God (the Father), and the Word (Jesus) was God (the Son).
25 Before the mountains were settled, before the hills was I (Jesus) brought forth:
26 While as yet he (the Father) had not made the earth, nor the fields, nor the highest part of the dust of the world.
27 When he prepared the heavens, I (Jesus) was there: when he set a compass upon the face of the depth:
28 When he (Father) established the clouds above: when he strengthened the fountains of the deep:
29 When he gave to the sea his decree, that the waters should not pass his commandment: when he appointed the foundations of the earth:
30 Then I (Jesus) was by him (the Father), as one brought up with him: and I (Jesus) was daily his delight, rejoicing always before him;
31 Rejoicing in the habitable part of his earth; and my delights were with the sons of men.
(no Holy Spirit mentioned.)
Hebrews 1:13 But to which of the angels said he (Father) at any time, Sit on my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool?
Colossians 3:1 If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God (his Father).
This is beautiful, poetic even. You hit the nail right on the head. God bless.
Demetrius Dion Thank you kindly. I so appreciate a kind word. I hope it blessed you.
1John 1:1 That (Jesus) which was from “the beginning”, which we (apostles) have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life (Jesus);
2 (For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and shew unto you that eternal life,
WHICH WAS WITH THE FATHER, AND WAS MANIFEST INTO US;)
(Notice this Father & Son were in the beginning)
3 That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye (you) also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.
Ephesians 3:14 For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
15 Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named,
There is one family of God in heaven.
Father (position) God
Jesus (name). Son (position) God
1 Corinthians 11:3 But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God (Father).
One Lord!
Hebrews 1:10 And, Thou, Lord, in the beginning hast laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the works of thine hands:
John 5:20 For the Father loveth the Son, and sheweth him all things that himself doeth: and he will shew him greater works than these, that ye may marvel.
John 5:22 For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son:
John 5:23 That all men should honour the Son, even as they honour the Father. He that honoureth not the Son honoureth not the Father which hath sent him.
John 5:26 For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself;
John 5:30 I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me.
Trese Drek
Where does the “Trinity” doctrine come from?
2 Peter 1:20 & Mathew 4:4
2. The word or doctrine must have two or three witnesses. John 8:17
3. Jesus does not imply doctrines, he speaks them and then gives us an example. Hebrews 1:2 (The Father) Hath (has) in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;
Let me show you how true doctrine is simply established.
John the Baptist:
Matthew 3:1 3 In those days came John the Baptist, preaching in the wilderness of Judaea,
2 And saying, Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.
6 And were baptized of him in Jordan, confessing their sins.
8 Bring forth therefore fruits meet for repentance:
Jesus:
Matthew 4:17 From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.
Before the cross
Peter:
Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
Paul:
Acts 20:21 Testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.
I can't get my head round the idea of the trinity. I'm. Tending towards onesss these days.
Hear o Israel the lord are God is one lord. Trinity doctrine 3 Gods 3 lords

No, its a mystery because we don't completely understand it. Do you completely understand how God created the universe from nothing? Do you question that, and expect to have some thorough scientific explanation in the Bible about it before you believe it? I don't think so.
@@jzak5723 please read Revelation 1 verse 8.Now convince the Almighty His wrong.
If you believe it is a beautiful belief given to you by god.
Which god? The devil is called the god of this world.
There is no trinity, Jesus was created by Yehovah, he is the only begotten son of God (Yehovah).
Read Col ch 1 verse 12 to 18.
I wish he preached more from Scripture.
He probably doesn't know the scriptures
I think he did quite a bit Dwight. In this sermon, he's giving Greek words, from the NT. How much of RC have you listened to? Give him more of your time and I think you'll see it.
The sermon was based on the history of the Trinity. The doctrine itself can easily be defended from scripture and in fact, the beginning of this video is based on John 1:1-5 which cannot be understood outside the doctrine of the Trinity.
@@andys3035 Totally agree Andy!
He did, English is not the original language of the Bible.
John 17 : 18 "I also sent them forth into the world and I am sanctifying
myself in their behalf that they also may be sanctified by means of
Truth."
As you well know, to even question "the Trinity" is like lighting a fuse. Someone's bound to explode with anger and accusations. But . . . being mortal as we are, we don't "get" what it's like to be spirit and are not qualified to explain spiritual things. *But we can find plenty of trinity non-evidence in the Bible.*
▬ Most New Testament letters have opening statements such as "Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ." All these opening statements *_include both God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ_* but all of them *_leave out the holy spirit._* None of the introductions mention or include or address the holy spirit as a person. I believe this is good evidence the apostles did not believe the holy spirit was a "third person."
▬ John 14:23 sheds more light on the topic. Here Jesus explains that both the Father and He (referring to Jesus himself) would come and dwell in us. *They - the two - would make their "abode" in us:*
⚫ "Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him." (John 14:23) (No mention of the holy spirit as a third person.)
▬ In 2 Corinthians 6:16-18 we find a similar statement: the Father - "the Lord Almighty" - will dwell in us and walk in us:
⚫ "And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.
Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,
And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty." (2 Corinthians 6:16-18)
▬ God is a spirit (John 4:24) and is holy. When God dwells in us, we have the holy spirit dwelling in us. We are His "temple."
▬ We see God as "us" back in Genesis:
⚫ "And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth." (Gen 1:26)
⚫ "And the LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever:" (Gen 3:22).
▬ Who is the "us"? It is the Father, and the "Word": who was with God from the beginning . . . And was God . . . and was made flesh:
⚫ "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
The same was in the beginning with God.
All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made." (John 1:1-3)
⚫ "And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth." (John 1:14) (No mention of the holy spirit as a third person.)
▬ Jesus said:
⚫ "I and my Father are one." (John 10:30) (No mention of the holy spirit as a third person.)
⚫ "But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him." (1 Cor 8:6) (No mention of the holy spirit as a person.)
▬ Although the Father and Jesus are "one," they seemingly can have separate identity or person:
⚫ "And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was." (John 17:5) (No mention of the holy spirit as a person.)
▬ 1 John 5:7-8 has a reputation as questionable in origin. Look up the "Johanine comma" ("comma" referring to a phrase) to get the detail on that. 1 John 5:7-8 is apparently not found in the majority of early Greek texts, but appears in many later Latin texts . . .
▬ Matthew 28:19 is also questionable:
⚫ "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost
It is questionable because what the apostles *DID* was baptize in Jesus' name only:
⚫ "Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost." (Acts 2:38)
⚫ "(For as yet he was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.)" (Acts 8:16)
⚫ "And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then prayed they him to tarry certain days." (Acts 10:48)
⚫ "When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus." (Acts 19:5)
⚫ "Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?" (Romans 6:3)
What do you think about ...Christ or Messiah or The Annointed One (Anointed by the Holy Spirit or God's Spirit) when it is referred to...Jesus Christ- Jesus the Messiah.
Think it over, man!
The concept of Trinity explain the omnipresence of The Biblical GOD CHRIST JESUS like in Numbers 11:25.
