I remember when I was about 8 or 9 I told my mom that Jesus was God and she tried to teach me different. I am now 45 and I still believe Jesus is God .Amen

ME: it was the Holy Spirit/God that INDWELLED Jesus that resurrected Jesus -- just like the Holy Spirit will resurrect all Believers indwelled by the Holy Spirit (Rom 8:11, 1Pet 3:18-20, 2Cor 5:19). it was the Holy Spirit/God that INDWELLED Jesus that did the miracles, not the man Jesus (John 5:19,30, John 14:10) and that is why Jesus taught that ANY Believer indwelled by the Holy Spirit/God can do the exact same miracles that the man Jesus did (John 14:12)
So, Victor, are you saying that Jesus is not God? What is your point with your comment? Jesus was a true man, yet the true living God. Don't forget Isaiah 7:14 "Immanuel"...God with us!!! Thomas in John 20:28, "My Lord and my God." Jesus was no ordinary man my dear. If that was the case then anyone could have died for our sins. This is not the case. Only God can be without sin. As we know, Jesus was sinless, the lamb without blemish. And remember, Jesus never said He was the lamb of God, but we know He was. John the Baptist proclaimed Him to be the lamb. James called Him God, John says He is God. Revelations says "I am the alpha and the omega"...."the beginning and the end."No other human could have that type of divinity in Him and not be God. So, no, not just anyone with the Holy Spirit can do what Jesus did, otherwise He would not have needed to come. What you have stated, puts your belief in the same category as the Muslims. They deny His divinity and call Jesus a prophet. That is the work of Satan. Be really careful in what you teach. You will be held accountable in that Day.

*Remain in the TRUTH and Joy of Jesus and SALVATION, He's with you my friend! JESUS is the WORD Who is God, Jesus is God. We don't need to understand every single inner working of the LORD and couldn't if we tried, but with regards to His nature and GODHEAD He's given us plenty of proof Jesus is God. Jesus is the Word made flesh. The Word is Who He Is FOREVER.*
*The word was with God and was GOD and God never changes so He IS God. In Revelation the LORD JESUS declares: Revelation 1:8 KJV: "I AM ALPHA and OMEGA, THE BEGINNING and THE ENDING, SAITH THE LORD, WHICH IS, and WHICH WAS, and WHICH IS TO COME, THE ALMIGHTY." ... Jesus LITERALLY declares right there: I am the ALMIGHTY. He says multiple times throughout Revelation that He's God in plenty of ways, not to mention throughout the gospels and is quoted elsewhere in the NT doing so even more! That doesn't even begin to cover all the times His Word reveals to us Jesus is God like Isaiah 9:6 KJV:*

He always has been, is and will be! As for Him dying, death is just separation! It doesn't change anything about His divinity. Only what He allowed was allowed to happen to His flesh. He was never corrupt. Never decayed. He allowed Himself to be pierced/bodily harmed but that's not what killed Him; He gave up The Ghost, aka His SPIRIT and SOUL, thus laying down His mortal life willingly only to take it back up as IMMORTAL FOREVER. He was always going to have an IMMORTAL FLESH to match His ETERNAL Spirit.*

Rev 1.8 is God speaking, not Jesus. In verse six Jesus has a God and Father. See Rev 3.2 and Rev 3.12.

What about the one who made it all possible? You are overlooking the 'Father of our Lord Jesus Christ' who sent him to the earth, poured out His spirit & blessed him' who guided him in all he did while on earth. Who sent His angels to strengthen him? Who raised him for the dead? Who sat him at his right hand? And who wlll command him to "Go subduing in the face of your enemies? It is the God and Father of Jesus Christ, who taught us to worship not himself but His Father! "I am the way, the truth and the life no one can COME TO THE FATHER except through me" So its wonderful you have faith my friend in Jesus, But dont stop there come through the "Door" the "sheepfold" to Almighty God the Father OF Jesus! The words for Father and God are totally different. Jesus' uses both in his words at John 20:17. So, how can they mean one and the same? Makes no sense.
All what one is doing is trying to hang on to some thought that would salve one's conscience that one has not been taken for a ride about the doctrine of the trinity.
The trinity isn't found in the bible. It was borrowed from pagans as was Christmas and other festivals by the apostate Roman church.

All is not lost though! God promised to restore true worship and gather his true worshipers during these last days from all over the world. Isaiah 2:1-4 and Micah 4:1-5. This true worship will include getting to know the true God AND the one he sent Jesus (John 17:3).

the Apostles did not teach that the physical Jesus was GOD walking around in an earth suit -- they taught that Jesus was a MAN from Nazareth that was INDWELLED by God (Acts 10:38, 2:22, Matt 12:28) because that is what Jesus taught them (John 5:19,30, Luke 4:18, John 14:10). In the Greek, the subject matter for the words: "I am" - in English translates to: "ego eimi" {strongs: 1473/1510} in Greek - as in: "I am that individual" - such as in John 8:58, Yehoshua (Jesus) is stating that before Abraham was born, he was appointed as the Messiah (anointed by God) - as the the Only begotten Son of God.
It is the same (1473/1510) Greek wording in Revelation 1:8 which says: "I am" in reading: "I am the Alpha and Omega"...

2) why did Jesus call Himself "the Alpha and the Omega" in Rev 1:18 when this should only apply to YHWH, as YHWH says in Isaiah 44:6 ? I'm a mathematician and let me tell you, there can't be two who are first and last.
3) Why does John (John 12:39-42) quote Isaiah 6:1,8 and says that Isaiah saw the glory of YESHUA, while Isaiah himself says he saw the glory of YHWH ?
4) Why does Thomas say to YESHUA " My Lord and my God" (John 20:26)...I just hope you won't give me the silly reason that Thomas was in shock and didn't know what he was saying. If it was so, then why was it written? Why was it not clarified that Thomas had messed up? What, is the Bible written in a way to confuse us and make us think He's God if He isn't? No, the better explanation is that He really is God.

It just amazes me when people say that the Bible never says that Jesus is God. I mean honestly, just read II Pet. 1:1, it starts off the very letter! Read Rom. 9:5, calling Christ "overall God, blessed to the ages". Even Titus. 2:13 just plainly says it.

This is in reference to some of those who have a difficulty in grasping that Jesus is God Almighty. There are many reasons as to why they have difficulty in grasping that Jesus is the only true God. In all sincerety they believe that he's the son of God, in other words another divine being, but not God himself. They look at him as a being with less power and connect various invalid reasons to justify their points. We must listen to the word of God which is the voice of God. Jesus himself said ," man shall live by every word of God". Not by what he picks and chooses. We need to go to every scripture pertaining to the subject to get the big picture. Jesus not only died on the cross to save the world, he also plays many ministerial roles toward our salvation. He's known as the Son of God ,Son of David, and Son of Man. Spiritual matters can be understood only by the Spirit of God. It is impossible to grasp the deity of Jesus with the natural mind. Always look to what the true witnesses of God in the bible saw and experienced. In his great commission to the disciples before he ascended to heaven Jesus said: "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
teaching them to observe all things.... (Mat28:19-20) Jesus emphasised on the name. He did not mention a trinity. Father and Son are not names but titles. Wow thank you so much, God, for giving Pastor John MacArthur this sermon and thank you for the one who asked him to preach it. I know Satan has tried to fill my mind and TH-cam with confusion about this. There are many who claim that Jesus and the father are not one, yet the verses show it. And even though I have read it, I forgot and got sidetracked by evil trying to sway me towards confusion. I will now never forget and always keep this truth in my heart without any doubt. The only thing that I am having trouble understanding is the Trinity (which caused this confusion to begin with) not in understanding it but in being certain that God is and only is 3 in one. I know of the Nicene Creed, I know about the early Roman Catholic Church trying to incorporate a 3-god pagan philosophy into Christianity. I have zero doubt of the Holy Ghost, who lives in me, but only to the effect of God being relegated to 3-in-1, which the closest Biblical evidence I have found is in The Great Commission: to baptize in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost. I have tried to study this but honestly the more I study the more I am confused. But I have been praying about this more than ever lately, and I thank God he answered part of that prayer by leading me to this video. I just want absolute certainty. I know Jehovas Witnesses are out there in full force as sheep in wolf’s clothing trying to trick people into strange doctrine. But.....The Johannine Comma wasn't even in the oldest manuscripts. When Clement specifically quotes John 5, he leaves off the comma. So the "Trinity" is really just an intentional or accidental insertion of the scribal notes in the Vulgate when it was re-translated back into the Greed, and then into the KJV.

What is one trying to say? Jesus is God because a doubter addressed him as God. But all the other scriptures say he is not God.
The beloved Apostle who recorded that incident also wrote in clear unambiguous terms:
'No man has SEEN God AT ANY TIME.' -1 John 4:12,20. Logically, Jesus couldn't have been God even for a second.
Remember Thomas made this statement AFTER he realized that Jesus was God's son. Was he contritely begging God to forgive him for his disbelief. The record doesn't tell us.
However, addressing angels whom God SENT as God was common. (Read Judges chapter 13).
Whatever the case may have been, that Jesus was not God is borne out by John's statement quoted above.

He falls like a dead man at the feet of the One who is speaking who says in verse 18, "“Do not be afraid; I am the First and the Last. I AM HE WHO LIVES, AND WAS DEAD, and behold, I am alive forevermore. Amen. And I have the keys of Hades and of Death." Since you're a Bible scholar, I'm sure you realize the implication of Jesus calling Himself the First and the Last, correct? I'm sure you've done a number of doctoral theses on this. Hey, can you think of anyone referred to as the Son of Man who died, came back to life, and lives FOREVER MORE? This sounds familiar, I just can't place it.

I'd have to look back but you mentioned that one of us had to take another look at these verses again. Where you talking about you? Or me? At my age, I have a hard time remembering these things. I was under the impression that you were saying that I was mistaken about these verses and I need to look at them again. But looking at these verses, I understand them exactly as they say.

You seem a bit cavalier with your interpretation of Rev 1-11.
In verse for it is John who is speaking. He mentions both Jesus and his God and Father.
In vs 8 is the declaration of the "Lord God" as the "Alpha and Omega". As John has already mentioned the "God and Father" of Jesus, this must be God who is speaking and not Jesus as he has already been distinguished from his Father by John.
John is speaking again in vs 9 where he heard the "loud voice".
It is not until vs 17, 18 the owner of the voice is revealed "the first and the last" and "the living One; and I was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore,".
As the Father, God, who has already been identified as the "alpha and omega" and therefor cannot and did not die, this is obviously the Son Jesus.
The "first and the last, the living One; and I was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore" is not the "alpha and omega" of vs 8
I will reply to your interpretation of John 1 later as there is enough to be going on with here.

First of all, if Jesus calls Himself the "First and the Last" as you admit He does, then tell me who else calls Himself "the First and the Last" in the Old Testament? I don't want to make it too easy for you but you might want to check Isaiah 41:4, Isaiah 44:6, Isaiah 48:12 and see who calls Himself "the First and the Last." Hint: It's the LORD GOD of Israel. Friend, please try to tell me that Jesus Christ is not diety. PLEASE!
This isn't the only time that DIRECT EQUATIONS are made between Christ and YHWH. Read Hebrews 1:10-12. Who does this speak of? Christ, correct? Then read Psalm 102:24-27. Who does this speak of? YHWH LORD, correct? Hmmmm!
During your meditation on John 1:1-3, 14, please consider John 1:3 in light of the Hebrews 1/Psalm 102 comparison. You can't deny what's being said here. Either this is BLASPHEMY.....or.....

RESPONSE: You might need to get your eyes examined. Verse 8 contains a statement - the speaker says He is the Alpha and Omega. Friend, John hears a voice behind like a trumpet in v.10. The voice says, "“I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last,” and, “What you see, write in a book and send it to the seven churches which are in Asia: to Ephesus, to Smyrna, to Pergamos, to Thyatira, to Sardis, to Philadelphia, and to Laodicea.”" (v11). John TURNS TO SEE WHO's SPEAKING WITH HIM and describes this One who is like the Son of Man, girded about the chest with a golden band, with head and hair white like wool, etc. THEN, this One like the Son of Man SPEAKS and says, " “Do not be afraid; I am the First and the Last. I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore." (Rev 1:17-18)
You see? John hears a voice behind Him declaring, "I am the Alpha and the Omega." (v11) John TURNS and looks to see who said this and it's the One like the Son of Man who then speaks again and says, "I am the First and the Last. I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore." (v17-18) The same One who declared Himself to be the Alpha and the Omega also said that He is the First and the Last, the One who was dead and now lives forever more!
C'mon, buddy! You see it now? Okay, cool.
This is why Paul can write what he does about the Christ in Philippians 2:9-11 (which, incidentally, is ANOTHER passage directly comparing Christ to YHWH of the Old Testament). See the reference to Isaiah 45:21-23. Please read this CAREFULLY. I'm not busting your chops any more. This is seriously a DEEP statement that I believe speaks of the incarnation of Christ (although I freely admit that this is only see when the veil is lifted in Christ). Isaiah 45:23 says,
"I have sworn by Myself;
The word has gone out of My mouth in righteousness,
And shall not return,
That to Me every knee shall bow,
Every tongue shall take an oath."
See? The WORD has gone forth from the mouth of God in RIGHTEOUSNESS and will NOT RETURN UNTIL "TO ME [YHWH] EVERY KNEE WILL BOW AND EVERY TONGUE SHALL TAKE AN OATH." What's the oath? That YHWH is the LORD and there is NO OTHER GOD, NO OTHER SAVIOR, THERE IS ONLY HIM. But to who does Paul say that every knee will bow and every tongue confess? CHRIST! And what is their confession? That JESUS CHRIST IS LORD. And we as Bible believers can now see that Jesus Christ is again DIRECTLY EQUATED to YHWH. The hairs are raising up on the back of my neck! God is GRAND!
Please note that I am not saying that Jesus is the Father. I'm saying that the Father and the Word and the Spirit are all YHWH. Each is distinct (maybe not as distinct as we would like to think) and unique but they have ONE will and these Three are ONE.

You are assuming that because two persons share a title such as "the first and last" they must be the same person ( being) giving no consideration to the context.
If I asked you who the "King of kings" is, you would no doubt reply, Jesus. You would be right. If you had said Nebuchadnezzar, you would also be right.
If you had said Artaxerxes, you would be right again. In the bible they are all referred to as the "King of kings".
The context of why they share this title is of course different and no one would assume they are the same person.
Jesus is "the first and the last" for a specific reason which is clear in the verse.
It becomes more clear when you look at the other verse that call Jesus the "first and last" at Rev 2:8 where the exact same qualification is given. I will leave you to read these two verses together and see if you can figure it out.
The fact that the only two verses which speak of Jesus this way puts the same context in with both must be significant.
Your quote from Rev 1:11 is a non starter as it is a spurious text where even most trinitarians agree that it is not part of the inspired word.
If it was then it would be a clear contradiction of who the "alpha and omega" is in scripture.
Revelation specifically identifies the Alpha and Omega as the "One Seated on the Throne" (21:5,6), yet in chapters 4 and 5 Jesus is shown to be separated from the One "on the throne". Because he is shown receiving a scroll from the enthroned Alpha and Omega and it is clear that grammatically he is consistently differentiated from the One on the throne: 1:4; 4:2,8; 5:1,5-7,13; 6:16; 7:10.
When my little boy was three or four he would say good morning God and Jesus good night God and Jesus !!! In his precious baby mind they were together and one !!! God has taken my boy and me thru many terrible things MIGHTILY !!!
As far as I can understand, the phrase ‘I am not alone’ appears only twice in the Bible, John 8:16 & 16:32. In both instances it is spoken by Jesus Christ of Nazareth. In both instances the one that was with him & also sent him was his Father. Make of that what you will. It is faith in God the Father, through redemption by the blood of Christ & being resurrected with him by his Spirit. People are dying without the gospel every day while we try to figure out who’s right......ok, now feel free to pile on.
