    I like how you explain the little details! I'm working on my 71 Lemans Sport

      Thank you for commenting. 71 LeMans sport very nice car. Let me know your progress. The detail on my car is driving me crazy. LOL. Sometimes I think I'm doing too much. Someone commented and said all I could do to fix the gaps is use the panel bonding adhesive. Sands and paints well. I don't know how well that works never done that before. All the best

    Another great video! Looks like things are coming together. Those gaps are looking really good. Take care!

      Steven thanks. It is coming along. Taking a lot more time than I expected. I Have about, 10 more hours of work to finish up my welding. I am tired of taking the car apart and putting it back together LOL

      Your doing what I would be. Making it right, the time involved will be worth it at the end! Keep it up the great work my friend.

      Stalled at the moment. Hope to get on it in the near future.

    For gaps you can also use panel bond and tig rod to set gaps. Welding all the gaps is the old school way. You would be amazed how well duraglass holds up on edges for gaps. Keep in mind even gaps set with weld will still have paint chip off it it rubs or gets hit by something on the edge

      Thank you for commenting. I did not want to invest in a TIG welder. Don't have any experience in TIG welding. I know it is quicker and faster. That's a whole new learning experience for me. Again, thanks for watching and commenting. All the best

    I love these update videos. Hopefully I will be starting this myself this winter. I have been looking for a good video on the metal work for flush mount glass. Have you done one or seen one on youtube?

    • @classicrewind2715
      @classicrewind2715  ปีที่แล้ว

      I was debating doing the flush mounted windows a while back. I changed my mind. The cost was ridiculous. Plus the molding that held the glass stuck up above the glass. I wanted it flush mounted, like the newer cars today. You would have to fit the glass and custom weld to get it to make it look right. There is a video out there, but I can't remember who made it. But like I said , the trim stuck up above the glass. All the best

      My biggest concern is the rust that always shows up in the bottom corners of the sheet metal under the seals for the windows. It just kills me to do all of the body work to leave that spot to rust again. If you have any solutions for that please let me know.
      I am interested to see what you do with the windows. I saw a builder gloss over flush mounting factory glass. I believe this is how he did it. He raised the metal lip the factory glass rests on 3/8 s of an inch. Then he set the gap he wanted off of the roof by sliding the window up. Then he cut and fitted the sides and bottom of the window. Once that was done he sealed the glass in like any modern car. I loved the look, but that was a lot of work. @@classicrewind2715

      That is one way of doing the windows. But that is still going to collect water underneath. In the convertibles they actually have a home where the water can drain out of. For the rust under the doors I would make sure you epoxy primer everything. inside of the door make sure you use some type of sealer. Maybe a undercoating or por-15

    So my engine is almost about to go back in to my 1970 GTO. I want to redo all the wiring because it's a mess. I don't know where to start. Do you have any video on the subject or would you consider making one?

    • @classicrewind2715
      @classicrewind2715  ปีที่แล้ว

      I haven't gotten to that part of my build yet. I am going to be using American Auto wire. I've used that wire before in the past on other cars. Plus I am going to be using a lot of upgraded wiring for lights. LEDs and relays for the lighting system. I'm going to be installing power windows. All the best
