    "They dont go in to detail like i do" is such an understatement! Your videos are invaluable. I am currently replacing my roof' skin, and im learning someone in the past already removed the drip rails. Thinking it would be easier to keep it railess. Thank you so much for these videos, please dont stop making them!

      Thanks for the nice comment. It is very difficult picking up somebody else's work not knowing what is ahead of you. Did they do it right did they do it wrong. Hopefully this video will give you the ability to do it correctly. All the best. Thanks for liking and subscribing.

    Another great video, don't know if I want to do this on my 1968 Chevelle but it's nice to know how to do it.

    • @classicrewind2715

      I would not do it on my 68 Chevelle.. I'm only doing it on the GTO because it's going to be a restomod anyway. I'm glad you're enjoying the videos. All the best

    The drip rail moulding trim would be nice on the gto. Dont like?

      I understand, I just like that clean look. I wouldn't do it on my 68 Chevelle. But this is going to be custom-built so I don't mind. All the best

    Well I'm working on a 71 Chevelle and there's a Gap that is not to the molding area it just has the roof and the roof rail a good quarter inch gap which all needs to be cleaned out and welded like the factoy made it

      Very nice . Sounds like it's coming along. I'm almost done with that area. I just have to make sure that it is straight before I start doing my body work

    Hello, im in the process now of shaving the rails on my chevelle and was trying to get an idea of how your method looks upon completion but don't see another video after this one? Is there somewhere I can see how you finished it off?

    • @classicrewind2715
      @classicrewind2715  ปีที่แล้ว

      Go to the 20-minute Mark of the video. Watch from there to the end. I show you along the way how it looks when the trim channel is installed. I compare it to the other side. I hope this helps all the best

    I love these detailed videos your making. I think removing the drip rail is a great update to the looks of this car, and is something I want to do myself. I've heard that the drip rail is a common area for rust on these cars, is that true?

    • @classicrewind2715
      @classicrewind2715  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      If the seam seal is in good condition the rust is not bad at all. I noticed on my car that the A pillars were Rusty , so was the area where the front window glass sat on the roof line. Other than that, mine was pretty good. The only really way to tell is to start working it. if you're going to straighten out your drip rail it's easy to fix. You could access it much easier when you straighten it out. I hope this helps all the best

    What about water intrusion without the rails ?

    • @classicrewind2715
      @classicrewind2715  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There shouldn't be any water intrusion. I am still using the channel where the weather stripping sits in. The window rolls up into the channel and that keeps the water out. The water was just run down the roof and then it will end up on the window there is a lip. I hope this helps, All the best

    So did you flatten out the beaded edge or try not to hit it?

    • @classicrewind2715
      @classicrewind2715  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Jeremy. I did not flatten out the beaded Edge. I kept it to add a little detail to the car. It looks pretty cool with the flat edge. I am not done yet, I noticed some waves when I painted it with etching primer. Going to work on it a little bit more. Once I get a template made, so both radiuses are the same on both sides.

    I'm just trying to figure how that's going to look with a chrome vent window, unless you plan to use 69 doors.

    • @classicrewind2715
      @classicrewind2715  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm darkening the wing Windows too no Chrome. My problem is whether or not to paint them or powder coat them.. Because of the thin metal, the powder coat warps the metal. I have a lot of decisions to make. I'm not doing 69 doors. All the best
