I found myself yawning throughout this session and laughing about that :-P I've been sick with a fever on and off for about 4 months and woke up last night with my Achilles tendon in excruciating pain. Now I'm lying in bed resting it and thought I would turn on this video to help me feel better. I've never been too much of a laugher, so I've been trying lately to laugh and smile more often. I was in pain the other day, don't remember why, but I decided to just start laughing about it. Even though it was hard to do, it helps. I appreciate your videos. Thank you for doing this and showing that it is possible to laugh no matter how you're feeling. I will often try thinking of something funny I remember, whether it's something on a TV show or something that happened in real life, so that it will kind of prompt me to laugh even more :-)

i really liked this video. i was watching your old one where you do different things like move like a robot, then i saw this one uploaded. i was having trouble because i was feeling uncontrollable bouts of laughter/crying. Well, I decided that since I was having a "problem", I might as well turn it into yoga and make it a good thing! Utilize what you have. I feel very uplifted after watching and doing your other video, and after watching this one too (altho i didn't join in, I just watched you!) So many times people don't know that what they are feeling, is really sometimes just a sign of what they are capable of when they understand that they ARE ok - even if some would disagree!
Thanks for sharing Rachel! Your body was probably just shifting energy and shedding the old by laughing or crying; both are incredibly healing. Of course, I am sure if it just started happening and wasn't normal for you, it would give you trouble. Feel free to check out the Laughter Playlist on my channel for more sessions, and/or the 30 days of laughter that I did on instagram a few months back - they're more raw like this one, as that was my own personal challenge/journey, not set up or planned ahead of time; I'd just laugh in whatever way felt good that day.

Yes, it feels great! Hit play again and join me for the 10mins, then you will know how it feels for you 😁🙌 Sometimes after a really big laughter session my cheeks hurt later in the day, but usually, those muscles get unlocked and feel freer and activated. It is a bit of a workout for the little muscles we use less frequently.

Hey Bianca, when doing laughter yoga, do you think of funny things consciously to make your laugh genuine? Because thats hard for me, do you think there's benefits of just "going through the motion" anyway?
Great question Dante! In Laughter Yoga there is often an attitude of "fake it til you make it" with laughter because your body will still get the same benefits, and eventually your fake laughter should become natural. I've moved on from that approach, because you don't NEED to force or fake when you can just CHOOSE to laugh. Laughter is, after all, just breathing with happy sound effects. If you can choose to breathe, you can choose to laugh. It certainly takes practice to laugh more easily, freely and readily (especially at length), and it's an enjoyable practice! 😁🙌 Choosing to laugh is about the flow-on effect too; if you can choose to laugh, you can choose to turn a situation around, you can choose to smile and let anger go, you can choose to step away from toxic relationships, choose to have meaningful conversations, choose to eat healthily etc. etc. etc. We all have the power of choice, but many people don't exercise that power. I feel that the forcing and faking approach to anything is far more psychologically and physically unhealthy and disempowering, because if you are forcing, you are unwilling. That programs into your mind that "I have to do things I don't want to do in order to get the results I want (in any area of life)". It then feels hard and uncomfortable, like a chore rather than a joy.

i find that when i try to laugh, it really helps bc i start to realize that not only am i laughing at something funny, but my laughter in and of itself starts to sound and become really funny! i begin to see it as entertaining. i am generating funny sounds, that are laughing at things which are funny. in the end i am not sure if i am the funny one, or if what i am laughing at is funny.....it seems all the same to me.

this is great, it really helped me shift, and laying down does make it easier to laugh. It reminds me of being a kid and just laughing and laughing.
