    I hated my driving lessons, I’m such a nervous person and I don’t like being observed, which unfortunately is the only way to do the lessons and pass the test. Every time I had a lesson I would be anxious until all day until I started my lesson then I’d calm down.
    I’m just saying this because if anyone reads this who might be similar to me just know you can do it and you have to overcome your mind. I passed and I knew going into my test that I could do it if I just focused.

      Depending on how many lessons you've had, the more comfortable you get (where your instructor may not have to intervene as much) - just try and talk to them like a normal person and have a normal convo, it definitely helps relax the nerves. I'm not necessarily a nervous person, but me and my instructor both love football so on our lessons we just ended up talking about football and stuff during the lesson so if you can get something to talk about during the lessons it can help

      @@tlsp1576 I already managed to pass by fighting through my nerves it was a case of breathing through them for me or trying my best to ignore them, sometimes it would get the better of me but I did get along with my instructor also asked about my family at the start of my lessons (I had just become a dad, hence the need to drive) that was sort of the ice breaker I guess

      Third time my new instructor was so unhelpful thought I would fail and just telling so much unhelpful overtop things so I went for it and passed, my examiner even saying that my instructor is bad as previous day I failed a mock with him( told my examiner after test I failed my mock) as he said my driving was smooth and calm.

    Hello DGN,
    i'm very grateful I found your channel. Your videos have helped me a lot with Pedal Controls. Back in my first 2--3 lessons my control with my pedals was a bit rough. I would sometimes hold the clutch and break making me stall. I am now on my 11th lesson and in 4 days I'll be on my 12th. I haven't stalled at all and that was my biggest issue at the start. After I have somewhat perfected the Pedal Control I have been told that I am ready to go straight on to the driving test after I passed my theory and you're one of the people I want to thank for helping me get to the stage where I am able to go on the road and drive really well. So, thank you ever so much DGN. Keep posting the videos! Because my brothers next and I suggested the channel to him to learn off. I'll make sure to update you in the later videos of how he's progressing haha. Thank you again!

    Today I had my first driving lesson, worst experience, not cause of my bad driving, but cause of bad instructor, all he did was criticize me what I was doing or preventing me from even trying to park properly, in fact looking how you teach, I am genuinely hopping I have someone like this as a driving instructor when I start my driving lessons with BSM. Today it was just some random driving instructor, who basically put me in the car and told me to drive, didn't tell me how, but when I asked how, he explained but after 30 min I realized he was not going to be a good for me. Immediately I booked new driving instructor with BSM. My next lesson is on Friday, I hope he is as good as you are, and explains things to me, I prepaid 20 hours of driving will also get a friend to teach me on an open grounds so I get everything going as it should. He told me he'll give me 30 hours of driving lessons at least. After today's lesson 14/10/2024, I genuinely lost confidence, I did drive for the first time, did bunch of circles around residential area, which for someone who hasn't driven ever in his life is an accomplishment, but having a bad instructor today has left me with doubts in my abilities. I know driving isn't as hard, but getting to the point you're confident driver takes time.

    29:47 I'm not sure how I feel about this approach of bringing your clutch foot up while the brake is still engaged. Personally makes more sense for all of these even slope / downhill sections to let your car roll and apply gas first while lifting the clutch up. For a hill start the technique of getting closer to a strong bite but not so much that you'll stall is perhaps useful but here it seems like you would stall more often plus you're not ready with the gas to go

    • @dandk_
      @dandk_ 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Was thinking the same.
      Vast majority of these guys are going to start with a small petrol engine car after they pass and that method is setting you up to stall. For hills it seems far easier when learning to use the handbrake so you can ready your feet on the clutch and gas without fear of rolling back failing the test.

    • @stevenmorrison8372
      @stevenmorrison8372 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      What he will get him to do once he is a bit more natural with control is come off the brake just before the car stops and get the bite to stop it rolling back with his right foot covering the gas.

    TIP FOR MOST NEW LEARNERS , you DONT have to press the button when pullin the handbrake up only press and pull up when disengaging the hand brake , overall good luck to new drivers don’t let the nerves get you

      You don't have to push the button when pulling up the hand brake but i helps to longer the life of the ratchet teeth. I always push the button when pulling the handbrake up unless i want to hear the clicks, usually if i park on a hill so i know what strength i've pulled the handbrake to.

All 3 "big companies" have nothing and the first 10 independent companies I've asked all have 4-12 month waiting lists and won't even add to them currently. I'm having to learn using these videos and conquer driving videos then go out with the girlfriend to put into practice. @ellelka 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Most people's first car here will be manual since it's usually cheaper. Plus you need to take your test in a manual to be able to drive one in the future. So learning in a manual is the best option really. I'm still learning to drive & I prefer manual over automatic, and I don't mind some extra features they add these days but hate over-automated cars. I'd rather think for myself.

    First of all, I was passing my exam in Poland. My instructor also had a few stressful moments, usually when I had no idea, why my manuever doesn't want to succeed, like I had no idea how to start on a steep hill (didn't think at all about using handbrake) or why am I hitting a curb while reversing to the left (for no reason I've closed the distance to the curb on my right). After multi-lane roundabouts he was also irritated by my unableness to get perpendicular parking right.
    Meanwhile he was pleased to see me phenomenally park parallel to the cars.

      I suspect he's literally never driven anything before a car in his life so his depth and distance perception is waayyy off than the avg road user. As for the braking I suspect again he's scared of braking too hard and stalling or somehow thinks its gonna damage the car but it does tie in with my previous point about depth perception.
