Hi Peter, you've been randomly selected as winner of the $50 Ryans voucher. Please send us an email at wildtouring1@gmail.com and will organise getting that to you! :)
The Pilbara is incredible country, was lucky enough to make it up Mt Meharry when we came all the way across from Victoria last year, my favourite track I've done so far!
I remember the first time I went up a very steep hill in my 4wd, I wasn't driving, and couldn't believe that anything could drive up it but the vehicle did it easily. I have driven a lot of different things in my lifetime, including for a living for a lot of it, but I was still blown away by what a stock vehicle could do. After the first couple of times you get used to it but when you haven't done it before it's a bit of an eye opener or pucker inducing. Thanks for the video.
@@WildTouring We did a course when I got mine and I remember the instructor saying that most people will give up before the vehicle does and the trick is to not put the vehicle in a situation it can't drive out of. Sound advice when you see the number of blue, green, blue, green, blue, green...ambulance videos you see on here.
Given the amount of water at the start you’d never get through the river section further on, There’s a few hundred metres of water were you drive in the river and it would be deep. you’d need more than LOW-RANGE. The pool would be full of water though which would be good to see. Cooking tip, use the pea water to make the gravy.
There is a track around that bridge. Water is sitting under that bridge most of the time. You don't need to be in low gear to drive through these rivers on the way to Kalgan Pool because the bottom is very hard. All you might need is a snorkel, but that's after rains when water is a bit higher than usual. Other than that it's a pretty easy track. That's an old video but it shows what to expect: m.th-cam.com/video/WnFzusu70w0/w-d-xo.html We do it quite often and it's always fun.
Awesome video Cam . I’ve been following you for awhile & laughing at your adventures with Pete 😂. I just subscribed. Thank you for sharing. Bob🇺🇸 Washington State.
Spectacular episode, a bugger you couldn't get into Kalgan Pool. Low Range is no good underwater. Definitely keep the mines out of there and the desalination plant at Balla Balla, will spell the end of the fish nursery there
Great vid Cam! Perfect timing for us too as we head north on our lap. We did the walk up Bluff Knoll (2nd highest) a couple of months back and we were talking about this one then 👍

What a great track Cam.Thanks for sharing it with us. When you come to Victoria, make sure you do Blue Rag and Billy Goats Bluff tracks. You will certainly need low range for them.
Hi Cam - just a few questions regarding your L300 build - we are purchasing new 300 VX in October in Melbourne. 1. Where have you mounted the monitor for your caravan rear view camera monitor? 2. We are impressed with your kaon dividers in the rear of your vehicle - can you still fold down the rear seats? 3. In reference to a roof rack - are you happy with your base rack and do you think it is necessary to fit a light bar to reduce wind noise? 4. We are fitting a ARB Summit Mk2 bull bar to our new L300 and would appreciate your opinion on a winch - we don’t want a top of the line one - more a middle of the road reliable winch. 5. We are fitting Maxxis Razr AT tyres (to conform with the Lovell’s GVM/GCM pre-rego upgrade 4200kg). In your opinion are the standard VX rims okay or would you recommend the expense of purchasing mags? Thank you so much for your TH-cam channel - we value your reviews and opinion. We are two kiwis coming to Australia in December to begin a two year lap with a 22.8 Caravan. Kind regards Hugh & Catherine
Thanks for watching guys! - camera monitor is a clip on rear view camera from safety Dave. - you just need to take out the head rests if you want to fold down the rear seats with the cargo barrier in. The head rests lock the system in place. I never fold down seats as we have baby seats in anyway. - still plenty of wind noise with the arb base rack unfortunately, even with the light bar. - I don’t run a winch currently but have previously had a runva on a previous car that I was happy with. - Best to speak to lovell’s and see what they recommmend 🙂 Hope that helps! Enjoy your travels 🙂

Hey Cam, been following you since the start, name change lol I'm looking for a 525, Stacer Quintrex, can I ask how old and HP? I'm thinking an older boat and even repower if needed, from what you've seen what is the fair price point range for these boats? Cheers
My hull and motor (75hp) are a 2005 model. My motor only had 500hrs on it though. I don’t know heaps about boats, but I’m loving it. It’s light to tow, easy to launch, plenty of room for fishing and gear, did 130kms at sea on it in next weeks ep! I’d also look at the Quintrex 530 spirit. Basically the same boat but slightly different hull shape. Try find something with a low hour 4 stroke (preferably 90-115hp) and a trailer that isn’t rusted through! Probably around the 30k mark for.
