Awesome cast for an awesome series. Thanks mate as they say down under. My understanding is that Clem does not need "build order wins". He transforms"rock, paper, scissors" into "rock, rock, rock". And by building the right units, buildings and updates at the right time and move units to the right locations, knowing how to synergize everything best for any situation COMBINED with understanding 5 positions per second and ON TOP have superior execution of 5+ micro plans at any time. I think the time of "build order wins and losses" will be over if more players can replicate this.
I am honestly most impressed with the ghost mech late game clem played. We all knew clem has an insanely powerful bio mine style. Seeing the ghost mech late game just makes him seem like a complete player. He can do it all. To make it work against serral as well. I see him as someone who never loses to tanks. I thought the main reason korean terrans like byun and maru can't beat serral is because they are so eager to use mass tank styles vs zerg, but serral is just so good at tearing apart tank styles. To see clem make it work vs the best is super impressive.
51:08 I think he builds evo chamber because it takes up smaller space to build. If there's a unit nearby, the drone has to wait for the unit to leave the area before it can start building a hatchery, which means the drone can get sniped. You can see this at 51:12 when the queen has to walk away. So, building an evo chamber might be a workaround since it can be built instantly
5:07 clem sees serral trying to fly his queens over the cliff to drop them on the other side. serral quickly unloads them and pretends nothing was going on. 5:16 clem decides to run forward to check if serral is trying it again now that he's out of vision and catches them. people keep saying clem has incredible spidey sense for this move or that it was just pure luck but from clems POV it was just common sense
Great cast, mustve been quite challenging to cast especially considering Pig was there at championship and already knew the outcome but made it sound as if Pig was completely unaware the outcome 😂 awesome job!

changed my settings for a mod and forgot to change them back for 1-2 weeks not realising a niche setting was turned off. My bad on this one, it's fixed since this match
Not to balance whine here just my observation and opinion, ghosts are a balance problem as too well rounded of a unit. It’s not uncommon to see mass ghosts in the late game which is ironic considering infesters were nerfed for this reason, with them acting as a primary unit instead of a support role (see removal of infested Terran). The biggest weakness I see with ghosts is build time and cost. No Zerg unit is a direct counter. Banling are the closest but as ghosts aren’t light units with 100 hp it’s not exactly efficient unless you are able to pair it with fungal (6 baneling to kill 1 ghost). They have a default auto attack which does a surprising amount of damage considering their role as a support unit (10 damage/second). Plus the combination of cloak and snipe makes it extremely difficult for reliable detection as a Zerg player. Don’t get me wrong ghosts require an incredible amount of skill to effectively use, it just feels they have become a primary unit for Terran instead of a support unit like other spell casters. Just my two cents though.

When the balance patch that hit Infestors and Disruptors came through, Ghosts were also nerfed because, as the balance councli put it, they didn't want to see just mass clumps of high tech units. Disruptors got a supply nerf, Infestors got two nerfs, and Ghosts lost a little range off of EMP....which made it more likely you were going to clump them. It was frankly mindboggling.
You know, Terrans ARE allowed to win tournaments. Notice how there were no other Terrans in the semis? Terran is balanced. Ghosts are balanced. Its just that Clem on a good day is unbeatable.
As for your actual argument, “no Zerg unit is a direct counter” - yeah, direct counters are bad game design. Its also not a direct counter to any Zerg unit. Every Zerg comp is capable of killing ghosts. It would be nonsense if ghosts had a “direct counter” since ghosts are the only well-rounded late-game Terran unit. Marine marauder gets destroyed by late-game Zerg. The kinds of things we used to see Serral do is infestor neural parasite -> EMP the ghost ball. Fungal with a well timed baneling roll. The tools are there, but he didn’t play well.

Not enough detection, poor spellcaster micro. I feel like clem got insanely better, but I also feel like serral dropped a bit in skill.

Ghosts are literally the only slightly OP unit terran has. Zerg has tons and protoss has several.
People asking for re-balancing needs to understand that no one can God-tier micro like that French kid.

Ghost/snipe nerf is long overdue by now.
it's more like baneling nerf reversion. The only reason why zerg is forced into suboptimal roach/ravager is due to this.
