Absurd gameplay from both sides. Clem is so fast and hilariously aggressive, and Serral just has so many strategies up his sleeve on top of being insanely mechanically skilled. Always a joy to watch these two fight it out.
One of the most intense series I've watched in a while. All we need is maxpax to level up a bit so we can have this intense trifecta of foreigner matches all the time

MaxPax is already up there, he even won Pig Stu Festival 3 beating Maru in the finals. What would be crazy is to have him at offline events.

Year, in the past a weakness of Serral was, that he was too predictable, always playing a defensive makro style. Nowadays he is mixing it up a lot more. The one weakness right now is his zvz.
@@Daniel-rd6st Serral's weakness has always been ZvZ.
Though with that "weakness" he is a force to be recon with and still considered favored to win percentage wise.
Imagine if Serral strengthened his weakness to equal that with his ZvP and ZvP.
I wouldnt say always. In the year (2018 i think?) where he was at his most dominant id say zvz was actually his strongest matchup. He always somehow managed to squezze in a couple more workers than his opponents, managed to get those small advantages that build up to big ones. For me he made zvz watchable as a matchup (i usually dont like watching mirrormatches). Reynor was really the first zerg who could threaten him, after that others caught up as well. Thats the problem when you are at the top of a competition - everyone is chasing you and will try to adapt to your style of play. @@AdmiralBison

You thought Serral couldn't get any better but this Serral 2.0 trickster strategist somehow goes even further beyond. And he solved ZvT even before the Council robbed him of banes.

The serral drought has me rewatching older games again, ik this was just from a few months ago but still. Also serral looked the happiest ive ever seen him after a game in game one :))

Serral is being so innovative! If I could like this series multiple times I would. This and the recent Serral vs Maru. Serral is too good. Terran needs to find ways to surprise him. Terran micro doesn't make up for well executed surprises with sustained mid game map control backed by greed.

@@fan1008 Dude, I just watched it. Had to set aside some time for when I knew I could give this the attention it deserved. Incredible, incredible series.
Clem's micro is just unmatched. Byun, Maru, say what you want about them, but Clem's micro is on another level. I have never seen someone take on Roaches with Reapers the way he did. He is the only player who makes Serral look mortal. You could see the frustration and disbelief in Serral's face in a lot of those matches at how much value Clem is able to get out of his bio play.
And then Serral coming in with the builds. So much range as a player now, he's really entering a new era for himself. This tournament and Master's Coliseum we've seen him bringing out build after build that catches his opponents off guard. Fast ultras, Queen + Overlord creep drops, Muta into Lurker, man.
What an amazing series, definitely saving to watch later.

All Serral's loss is when he does ling bane opener. Clem is so good at targeting banes. He's better at roach raveger opener vs clem's aggressive playstyle.

Came back after watching the rest of the tournament and grand finals to say that this was the best series of the tournament. Amazing play from both players. Clem really is the only player that can go head to head with Serral. Love watching these two clash.
I think my favourite thing that Pig does is to impersonate a changeling. More of that please.

Probably a consequence of the Zerg nerf patches is Serral diversifying more strategies.
Fits the Zerg to evolve and adapt.
I wonder if Clem intentionally delays upgrades so he can get a swarmy army quicker, which benefits his style because it allows his crazy APM and micro to go to work in a way few other pros can match

I dont understand what a zerg can do when the Terran has reach that point as in game 5. Serral tapping out when he has 120 army supply? If he cant do it, no one can.

Really like Serral's strategy of horizontal expansion on Royal Blood. The forward expansion is horrible for zerg and the side-forward expansion is mediocre. Too bad we didn't see a longer game bc I think his play was only partly about the gold and equally about getting out of the death zone corner bases!

Why is it that the terran players never buy a single raven in tvz?
One of them could find and rwmove the threat of burrowed infesters/stalkers on the map.
Banes with less hp and less dmg, going to be fun against terran that can already target most of them, now if one or 2 slip through , bio will survive.
Yup really stupid. Widow mine needs to be nerfed not banes

3:52 why is serral running away? He has literally 5 roaches and a ravager. He can trade that for those maurauders, marines and force to pull some scvs. I think he is lagging
Why don't Terrans make one Raven to clear creep and lurkers and burrow etc?
just hard to get a second starport up and then babysit the raven and it's slow, fragile and can only be in one place at once, but it definitely can get crazy value over the long course of a game if you can manage to keep it alive. Every now and then an early raven comes back into the meta

I think there are some instances in which pro terrans really should build a raven to not die. however, those instances are obvious in retrospect and i think difficult to tell in the moment for the pros who don't have vision of the entire map.
reasons that I've heard from a few streams include the fact that building ravens delays medivac timings which will delay the push by so much that it affects the rest of the game and forecasts to the opponent what the next few minutes will look like due to the limitations of what is possible with delayed medivacs, clem said that although it may seem to casual players that the addition of a raven would save minerals because the terran would then not need to scan it doesn't work that way because a terran would still scan nonetheless (I think the implication is that a terran needs to know where the opponent's units are not necessarily just where the creep tumors and invisible units are), also the raven is also slow and dies easily
i believe harstem has said that in late game, it. ishis opinion that ravens should be built more often than terran pros currently do

zerg is so stressful man ! maybe they should put a little delay on the fungal same as ghosts, i mean it can literally contaminate a full 20 or even more supply so easily.
"So easily"? That's ridiculous. It required an epic infiltration, dodging scans and missile turrets to catch Clem off guard.
