It's nice that Toyota is sharing so much Lexus refinement with the Camry. That will only help keep it head and shoulders above the competition. But a Lexus person is never going to be happy with a Camry. It's just not even in the same league. I "personally" have no need to be in that league and would much prefer the Camry. Just the fact that the rear seat doesn't fold down in the ES prevents me from even being remotely interested in one. A Lexus person would just bring the GX 460 if they need the rear seat to fold down. I don't have options like that at my fingertips. In fact, if Toyota would introduce the Camry in a proper wagon form like the ones they used to sell in the 80's & 90's, I would MUCH prefer the Camry over the Lexus ESh. Especially if they made it available in the base LE trim and it could be purchased for say $3k more than the base sedan. I'd be all over it. But as they say, "different strokes for different folks."
I like the 2025 Camry XSE, but, I absolutely hate the full glass roof! Here is my problem with that. There is a $1300 up charge for the full glass roof, which is fine if that's what you want. You can't find one, so you are forced into paying $1300 for something you hate and would never want. I have also heard the full glass roofs on the 2025 Camrys have issues with breakage. Yes, they will self-destruct on their own. At least, that is what I've heard on YOU-tube videos and one local Toyota dealership from a friend that is a Toyota sales-person. Yes, I know there are plenty S.E. models with solid metal roofs, but I want an XSE with a solid roof. Thanks. If anyone knows or has found any 2025 XSE Camrys WITHOUT a glass-roof or sunroof, please reply. Wake up Toyota!

I rode for 40 minutes in a brand new Grand Highlander yesterday on mostly freeway and although it was a nice ride with a nice captain seat and leg room the NVH and bounciness of the suspension was off putting. I normally drive a 2019 Altima and people forget what makes Sedans good, it is their ride quality. They just float over road imperfections where something like an SUV is going to be taught and bouncy comparably.
I rented an a Camry Hybrid LE and I loved it…. I didn’t think I would like it… The cloth seats were awesome, the car drove through the Angeles National Forest in Sport mode and it was a dream…. I made up my mind that it’s what I wanted.
I have a loaded 2022 Camry XSE 4-cylinder. The ride is very firm (even harsh) especially for rear seat passengers. Did they improve the ride quality? Perhaps the XLE model would be better for me?
I ordered my 2025 Camry XSE and picked it up in July. It is pretty much loaded except i didn't get the 360 back up camera. Love the HUD though. The heavy metal is the color to get, the better wheels match it perfectly. It was a major upgrade from my Chrysler 200S ! About the same zip in sport mode and more than double the gas milage. Also much quieter with the insulated glass. It has all wheel drive also. Hopefully will not have the problems my 200 had, we will see!

I have a paid off Camry Hybrid and it runs so cheap that it’s hard to get rid of. It costs me $250 per month to drive 27 miles to work. ($250 in Gas and Insurance). It’s also reliable. I like to say it runs “Standard Issue” because you get in and drive without thinking about gas prices. When you get into a military vehicle, you don’t think about how much it costs to run. You just get in, drive and worry about other things.

So I bought this 2025 Camry on July 2nd. I have opened the panoramic roof 4x and today I decided to look into the mechanics of the roof when opened, while I was detailing the car after it rained. I was shocked to find that the fabric which is exposed because it’s the headliner that comes up and wraps below the sunshade- anyways the fabric is drastically torn and ripped and coming apart - so I took photos and I’m taking the Camry to service department tomorrow. I can’t imagine them repairing the torn areas on both front corners so I guess I’ll be getting a new headliner. Hard to imagine it not happening again without a fix.

@@KirkKreifelsdo you expect the same with the Camry if well taken care of how long would you estimate it to last with regular and all scheduled maintenance? 300-500k possible?
Drove both. The premium for the Lexus was not worth the few differences between the two. The Camry rode very well, very quiet inside. The audio system's sound quality depends on the types of files you are playing. Sirius vs. high-quality MP3, there is a detectable difference. Also, the MPG is pretty good.
This looks like a great car, but as I'm getting older I need seats a little more comfortable & have more soft cushion than the Camry. I currently have an older Camry and paid to give my driver's seat more cushion, and what a difference! In a few years, I will be looking at the Crown, which does have more comfortable seats. It is also quieter than the Camry, sits higher like an SUV & has AWD. I'm sure it's not Lexus quality, but it does cost less for a very nice sedan.
Just test drove XLE dealer looking for $1000 markup. The fabric microfiber on doors is what's giving me hesitation. I guess the engineers dont have kids. Im wondering how hard it would be to keep clean? It's definitely a comfortable car. Bit quieter than my 2020 Hybrid
Don't even need to have kids to see that is a bad idea. I drive around dusty roads and the interior will get caked with light dust when getting out. It's easy to wipe down leather and plastic. It's a pain to dust fabric
My 25 XLE Camry driver door actually sounds like something is loose in it, and it kinda rattles when i close it, i guess i'll have to bring that up to the dealer. I am concern they mess something else up, because the car is very quiet with no rattles on the road.
I'm still a Honda guy when not in my BMW's, but I'm wondering if all of these used ES owners are getting mid to upper 40's per gallon? It is possible that one doesn't have the refinement of a new or slightly used ES, BUT I'm guessing the delta of smoothness doesn't overcome the gas mileage either if you're buying a commuter/daily driver.
Hey Kirk, I’m a Mazda guy but will be looking to get a new car soon. I currently drive a mazda6 and prefer a sedan over an SUV but would consider a CX-50 hybrid. My question is, how would you compare the engineering of the Camry XSE to a Mazda’s engineering? I like tight handling and don’t care about a stiffer ride. I also want to know if the interior is comparable to a Mazda. I would consider this car but am wondering your take?
I know over time quality of build might not be as good as it used to be, but should one go out of their way to try and buy a toyota made in Japan vs here? I know that might be hard now as most if not all Camry and ES are built here now for US market right?
I would say the biggest issue with Camry over Lexus is depreciation. I expect a fully loaded Camry to drop like a rock compared to the Lexus ES. At 40's in MSRP it would be hard to justify the Camry. Note, I have never owned a Lexus but have had a 98 Corolla bought new, a 14 camry bought new, and a 17 camry bought in 20 used. I like Toyota but the prices are getting nuts. Lexus is getting up there to, but lexus's generally are more comfortable, reliable, and hold value better. At these prices you are closer than ever to the ES.

Thank you for this video! Yes, I have an LE 25 and is missing the energy flow monitor as you mentioned. Odd thing is that the owners manual says (p114) that you can see the energy Flow monitor on the multimedia screen not only on the digital cluster gauges. I think they didn't include at the very last minute. Hopefully, Toyota will update this.
I’ve been watching since you worked at Lexus! Sometimes I miss all of the Lexus reviews lol
I like the 2025 Camry XSE, but, I absolutely hate the full glass roof! Here is my problem with that. There is a $1300 up charge for the full glass roof, which is fine if that's what you want. However, I want the XSE, but I DO NOT WANT THAT GLASS ROOF!!! Try to find a 2025 Camry XSE without a full-glass roof.

Appreciate the objective, honest review. The car should be a sales hit since it offers a Lexus-like driving experience, proven reliability from the carried over hybrid powertrain and an affordable price.
Toyota has moved up-market. Reliability has pushed their brand higher. They are separating themselves from Kia, Hyundai, and Honda. It is an interesting move as Lexus will also have to improve to keep selling in the premium category.

They are completely different tbh and the ES win all day everyday .
What’s completely different?
Take the 24’ Camry v6 and the Lexus. Both fwd. both v6. Around the same size. Nothing completely different.
The quality in the materials are much different , and if you look underneath both cars you will see differences in materials . The Camry v6 is a excellent car it’s just not the same as the ES , your argument would me more valid let’s say if the Toyota kept the Avalon which the ES is based off of

Doesn’t AWD only add 7HP and only kick in when wheel spin is detected at the front wheels?
Yes
I have a 2025 XLE and the ride is very smooth. Can't speak to the XSE or SE as they have sport tuned suspension which could be different

The Camry being this good actually is great news for Lexus sedan aficionados. Imagine an ES with the great underpinnings of this current gen Camry, plus even better refinement and handling AND with 400hp and eAWD. Now THAT would be a worthy spiritual successor to the legendary Lexus GS.
Hey @kirk This Camry or Accord Touring? Both seem really great! Think I like the front end on the Accord in terms of design and the Google integration. But the power and AWD of the Camry is making this a difficult choice. Help!

Test drove a brand new Camry XLE and then test drove a Lexus 2021 ES 300h... Decided on the used Lexus ES 300h with 32k miles and bought it 35k out the door. The comfort, quiet ride, smoothness and refinement is not even close. Camry just felt too cramped especially in the back seat.
I want this as a wagon in an AWD LE trim, since the Signia has 4th generation hybrid mechanicals and is priced too high IMO. If Subaru can sell 200k Outbacks per year, Toyota can sell plenty of Camry wagons if they would market it properly and make it look right.
The Camry is so beautiful and efficient!!!

Nah, will stick with my 2020 es....6 cylinder bullet proof engine, better interior, quieter , better suspension and plusher ride. Toyota execs are not dumb, they would never allow the Camry to be that similar to their Lexus es 350 product. Manufacturers are very aware of keeping higher end vehicles from.being cannibalized by their mid tier products.

@hoderharris dude, you're correct. don't fall for the nonsensical ES comparison with Camry
Hello, do you notice much noise from the engine in the cabin when it is charging the battery? I just bought an XSE and did not originally notice this as much on my test drive. However, after a week with the car, I noticed the engine revs louder during charging of the battery, almost like from the exhaust system.
Looking at getting a Camry. Really loved your review.
Love your videos, keep it up Kirk
I bought one, XSE Premium plus package pear white $41,800 Truly a amazing Ride
I have a paid off Camry Hybrid and it runs so cheap that it’s hard to get rid of. It costs me $250 per month to drive 27 miles to work. ($250 in Gas and Insurance). It’s also reliable. I like to say it runs “Standard Issue” because you get in and drive without thinking about gas prices. When you get into a military vehicle, you don’t think about how much it costs to run. You just get in, drive and worry about other things.
Kirk and his hyper obsession with the ES and Camry comparison. I don't get it, but at this point, enough said. Folks, do your own research
You are right my friend. KIRK is has gone a bit mad . I really think he is saying these things to create drama in this comment section . otherwise come on
That blue is nice on the car.
Remote connect and cloud based navigation is paired together for $15 per month, not a yearly subscription, which is anywhere from 15-25 less than the competition because all new gen Toyota systems get a 10 year free trial of safety connect which is roadside, stolen vehicle and emergency assistance.
The shocks are different on the Lexus.
I was leaning towards buying the luxury es, but i can’t justify that price seeing the new camry. so i think im going with a new 2025 lexus rx when it gets released
My question is which vehicle will last the longest? How will the vehicle be holding up in 20 years/300k miles?
Not even new ES will hold up like the third Gen for 30+ years
@@KirkKreifelsdo you expect the same with the Camry if well taken care of how long would you estimate it to last with regular and all scheduled maintenance? 300-500k possible?
Camry is outstanding
Drove both. The premium for the Lexus was not worth the few differences between the two. The Camry rode very well, very quiet inside. The audio system's sound quality depends on the types of files you are playing. Sirius vs. high-quality MP3, there is a detectable difference. Also, the MPG is pretty good.
Try getting the 2025 LE or SE at MSRP!
You can where I live
Kirk, I am shopping the NX and the Camry....If configured with congruent price points....which one?
Doesn't come close to Lexus quality, but comes very close to Lexus price!
2020 Camry 4 years ago was quieter too
Mine came with a tube of stain guard in the glove box
@@ironrain1x the microfiber trim is just about a deal breaker for me. Doesn't make a bit of sense, super bad idea.

My 25 XLE Camry driver door actually sounds like something is loose in it, and it kinda rattles when i close it, i guess i'll have to bring that up to the dealer. I am concern they mess something else up, because the car is very quiet with no rattles on the road.
Thanks great review...would you rather have a 2024 CX5 signature or this camry? Gas milage isn't a dealbreaker.
I have both! CX-5 is great just worse gas mileage 😊
How good is the ES going to be?
Really good
Love the review has an infant car seat 🫡
I would say the biggest issue with Camry over Lexus is depreciation. I expect a fully loaded Camry to drop like a rock compared to the Lexus ES. At 40's in MSRP it would be hard to justify the Camry. Note, I have never owned a Lexus but have had a 98 Corolla bought new, a 14 camry bought new, and a 17 camry bought in 20 used. I like Toyota but the prices are getting nuts. Lexus is getting up there to, but lexus's generally are more comfortable, reliable, and hold value better. At these prices you are closer than ever to the ES.
