    Another fantastic video! (Also, only somewhat related to this video: I do appreciate manufacturers producing solid quality at a budget price, even if it's not innovative, but B's recent product policy - ripping off designs and selling them at the same price anyway - is just baffling.)

    • @thewatchmanstudios6257
      @thewatchmanstudios6257 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Well here, (Canada) it was ripping off product designs and selling them for a lot less.
      Going direct is (not surprisingly) another way for behringer to cut corners.

    • @MarkusGuhe
      @MarkusGuhe 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@thewatchmanstudios6257 Yeah, that's their old business model; here in Europe too. But many recent products (think Keystep) are just one-to-one copies for the same price.

    We must admit... If a crappy thing is under test, it makes more fun. Here we have a full bunch...
    To be honest: 100% of foreign movies are dubbed in Italy. It's an industry here, famous actors report that italian voices are amazing.
    I prefer to listen to original soundtrack to practice, but I am an exception.

    I can see that these microphones are definitely not worth it, however there are two points to note. First, I would definitely buy a pop filter no matter what because almost all microphones are really sensitive to plosives due to their nature. Even on mics that aren't very sensitive to plosive I usually still use one, just to be sure. And second, I'd definitely turn off the phone for radio interference reasons no matter what. Maybe they were humming because off the computer, maybe that's connected to wifi. And you need to make sure you're on airplane mode in the windows menu, otherwise the wifi/ bluetooth module if installed will still be turned on and could interfere with it. Still a nice video, Rock on.

    • @image66media
      @image66media 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The only time I've ever had a problem with phone interference with anything made in the last 10 years was an X32 mixer. Oh, and a NADY wireless mike, but they never pretended to make anything intended to work anyway.

    • @giuliano8031
      @giuliano8031 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@image66media I have as a rule that I shut off my phone entirely. There's no way I'm gonna change that soon. "I've never has a problem" and "Definitely won't happen" are two very different things. And just to make sure I don't mess up the take of my talent, I'm gonna turn it off. Also, it distracts from your work and it has been said that once on your phone, you need up to 10
      Minutes to get fully concentrated again.

    I remember when Behringer used to be a reasonable entry-level company for budding audio engineers. I have proudly disposed of all of my Behringer equipment except for a headphone amp and one preamp, but I've taken a wire wheel to the logos removing any hint of the Behringer name. 3:12 it's easy enough. You know how any short spoken clip will start sounding like a melody if you listen to it often enough? You focus on using that part of the brain. Instead of trying to remember and repeat the words, you try to remember and repeat rhythm and melody and perhaps musical intent. Which is also why it's better to stick to less than, say, seven syllables at a time. Especially when you're starting out

    I enjoyed the humour but to be fair, a mobile phone doesn't belong in any studio session or gig. A non-cellular iPad for scripts, lyrics or control surface is a safe studio tool. Also all laptops and some desktop computers have isolated USB ports, so a non-grounded shield on the mic cable acts like an antenna and that's not the fault of the microphone. At the price point I don't think that Behringer are kidding anyone so they are probably mainly eye candy for those that feel it's more important than the sound quality. During your comparison the BV44 didn't sound that bad.

    Behringer is the double-personality audio brand out there. They are capable of perfectly cloning classic synths at an unbelievable price tag with amazing results. Incorporate technology gained by the acquisition of companies such as Midas into their own consoles for the ones on a tight budget. A few decent pedals, fx racks and the occasional DAW controller, which are ok for the money. But virtually the rest of their products still is as it's always been: crap.

    I can only imagine that the big "B" outsourced the R & D and manufacturing for these erm... mics...or maybe highly sensitive EMF detectors.... if that's what they are significantly better at doing..... and nobody bothered to check in with the er.....manufacturer about QC or adherence to the original design brief.... until they'd made 100,000 units and the large "B" had accepted them and paid for them in full...!!!! after which Someone decided that maybe some wishful thinking might make them work for their intended purpose if they were actually sent to market...????
    They've had one or two howelers in the past ant some cases of appauling reliability due to their original philosophy of coming up with a half descent design and populating it with the cheapest batches of components available to keep the price down...!!!! But nothing this bad....!!!! and they've designed and built some things like the X32 and Digital Ultracurve EQ Which have been rock solid and Performed As Well if not better than the Competition...for a fraction of the price...!!! But these...????

    Microphones are pretty good. Its obviously sound engineer ego problem.

    The Truth Will Always Out! A great video on how to smash up bad microphones and sneak in some old Cat footage. If you guys keep up this reuse of old Flop Cat footage you'll have to change your name to Present Dave Productions.
