    That was an awesome intro. 😃I like the looks of the BV635 but I’d need to dampen the springs with an o-ring. The BV44 probably sounded best to me.
    You hid your feels well on the BOMB. I thought it was your favorite right up to the axe!! 😳😂

    ON the BVR84 and BV44 you might want to try BLUE Locklite which can help keep the Y mount screws tight when tighten up but still moveable for adjustment

    Thanks for this video. Some of those Vintage Series mics look great but the quality to price ratio is bad! The 635 rings like a bell. And the hum on the Bomb and the 438 was unbearable. Tell Blue he did great work on the kitty purr tests.

    I don't know what to choose. Everyone says that Blue yeti is bad. I'm looking for something on the USB I thought about these do not recommend any .. So what to buy? What about rode?

    Behringer has always been a budget/low-quality brand with a few sort-of good-quality products (mostly the X32 [which is really a midas product with the behringer branding] and a few of their clone synths which are good but blatant copies of other brands) , unfortunately their experience isn't a good one. Unfortunately the only way to resolve that hum is going to be in software. On big-boy gear you'd usually use a DI box with a line transformer to filter out the 50/60hz hum. I suppose a more isolated power supply MIGHT help, but its almost certainly inductive noise so unlikely.

    kinda seems more like they're all just gimmicks. cool mics though, definitely nice to have on display.

    Honestly, if they sorted out the noise/hum thing - I'd say the best sounding mic is the 4038, I liked the profile of the sound the most. But generally they are all quite overpriced. If the mentioned 4038 was MAX 60 USD, and it didn't have the hum/noise, I'd say it's good. It's sad Behringer with their experience let out that flawed mics.

      Thank you! I appreciate that. It’s very possible I will be buying Behringer mics I want to review in the future rather than getting them for free 😂. It’s always a little scary putting out a negative review, especially when the products were sent to me for free, but I’ll do that every time if it helps a supporter of this channel not waste their hard earned money.

    Never understood the US rating system:
    If a C is better than a D, wouldn't D- be closer to C than D+?

    • @AudioHotline
      @AudioHotline  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hmmm... Interesting. We think of + as positive and - as negative. Like how +10 is a greater value than -10. Regardless, I actually switched to a different rating system a little while back. I use 1 - 10 and each rating has a description next to it now. Hoping to avoid confusion like this!
      To your other comment:
      I wouldn't recommend these mics for their sound even at that price point. However, if you really like the look of them and are willing to accept that the sound isn't very good, that they don't have latency-free monitoring, or gain control on the mic.... then yeah, you could use them but I personally wouldn't. They are basically decor that can kind of capture sound... but not well. 🤣

    • @Ni5ei
      @Ni5ei ปีที่แล้ว

      @@AudioHotline Thanks gor the reply!
      On the rating system; yeah I understand what it means, I just think there's no real logic behind it (the lower the letter, the higher the score. Except when you get a + or - then it's the other way 'round).
      On the mics; Im kinda suprized they seem to be that bad. Behringer knows how to make good mics for a low price. I get that the designs of these cost extra money. But at least they could've put their tried and tested stuff inside.
      Still thinking about ordering a BV44 and BV635 for less than €50 total though :D

    Uhhhhh... Old video. But for anyone new here, don't consider USB mics ever. Get a decent audio interface and then ramp up your mic quality as finances allow. You can make incredibly good recordings these days on the cheap.

    • @AudioHotline
      @AudioHotline  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      This is pretty much what I preached for a really long time and any USB mic I reviewed I took the opportunity to mention how interfaces and XLR mics are superior. That’s honestly one of the biggest reasons I reviewed them… It’s hard though, because for people that don’t like to worry about audio gear and audio quality, but they WANT better quality than their camera, phone, computer mic… I mean USB mics can get them there. It was a hard pill for me to swallow when I came to the realization that not everyone will fall in love with audio that buys audio gear. For people that don’t have any interest in it and they just want decent audio, USB mics are fine. It’s been a difficult thing for me to accept, but it is what it is.

    • @AudioHotline
      @AudioHotline  ปีที่แล้ว

      To be clear, these mics aren’t “fine” though, they are trash 😂

    • @jaaxxone
      @jaaxxone ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@AudioHotlineold video I understand. But these days you can get a very nice usb interface with a crappy sm57 $15 clone and do much better than these all in one USB mics.. You know it.

    • @shayneoneill1506
      @shayneoneill1506 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yep, you get a proper phantom power setup on even the cheap (but excellent) Focusrite 2ch usb-c interfaces, and that opens the high end condensers giving you access to things like the Rodes , Shures, AKGs and even the Neumanns if money is no object. PLUS if you do get inductive noise , you can throw a line filter or transformer isolated DI box or whatever. Plus having more than one channel lets you add more mics to your rig if your doing interviews or whatever (In my use case as running a recording studio I have 24 channels off an 8chan MOTU interface with ADAT chained to a mixing desk for another 16 channels, and I use every damn one of those channels lol

    • @imark7777777
      @imark7777777 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah for simplicity of just plug it in there's a lot of people who just want USB. But I think manufactures would've been so much better off just going the route of making a standard microphone and throwing in one of those USB-XLR barrel interfaces. Then there's the issue of when you want to add multiple guests you are up in the complexity of using multiple USB interfaces that we're never designed to work together. I bought a iPod recorder Wayback when, now I'm kind of stuck with this box that doesn't do anything because it's semi not compatible with the newer iPods and is starting to work a little weird. So I mostly just use it for quick tests. However it was a package deal and I got 2 excellent matched XLR SDC microphones that have outlived the recorder. Some of these microphones are pretty cool but they will only ever be able to use on a computer, With limited resale value.
