    I honestly didn't even know there was any point in rotations in square one because the method I learnt never does it

      Also use scallop-scallop. It’s really similar to scallop-kite and also is part of the alg for beginner cubeshape (assuming you use the 8 grouped edges beginner cubeshape alg)

    Is there any advanced methinks for sq1? I am using beginner method and I cannot find any advanced methods in YT. I am starting to think that even the top level cubers use only normal method (cube shape - algs for different cases and trying to skip parity..)

    • @CubeMasterYT
      @CubeMasterYT  5 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      For the most part you are right, most people stick to just CS CO EO CP EP, but with some steps condensed, like learning full optimal CS and EP. Like you mentioned, there is also stuff like CSP to skip parity but there is stuff like PBL to combine CP and EP (lots of videos on my channel on that topic), OBL to combine CO and EO, predicting CO during inspection and some other cool tricks. Most people just stick to the normal method though, and get fast times through fast turning and less pauses :)

    • @petardobrev5267
      @petardobrev5267 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Which is the best way to start going advanced? With what?

    • @CubeMasterYT
      @CubeMasterYT  5 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      I don't think any advanced methods are worth learning until you are about sub 12, where CSP is probably the next step. At about sub 9, I think other tricks like CO Prediction and PBL becomes pretty useful, even if you know only a few cases. So pretty much, until you are at those ranges, stick to the regular method and work on advanced cubeshape and learning a few more EPs, along with of course faster lookahead and turning. Hope this helps :D

Here are some videos that you might find useful though: th-cam.com/video/M2YX9m6ENyg/w-d-xo.html (the first few tips should be helpful for your level) and th-cam.com/video/Tjb2bcN4XlE/w-d-xo.html. i'm averaging like barely sub-30 rn. I one thing that has helped me was learning all the eo and cp algorithms, and learning a few ep algorithms. start off learning adjacent swap, opposite swap, 1 sided u-perms, 2 sided u-perms, h-perm and z-perm. that should easily be enough to get much below 40. those are the most important algorithms imo.

  • @Jerry-cc6my
    @Jerry-cc6my 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    I am using lin method personally so the co, eo, cp and ep tip is not that useful for me but the cs part is really helpful. altho I didn't have much difficulties to be sub 20,but the cs tips is really helpful.

    • @CubeMasterYT
      @CubeMasterYT  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It really depends on each situation, but you can usually apply something from this video: th-cam.com/video/Tjb2bcN4XlE/w-d-xo.html (U2s start at #8). You usually want to use these fingertricks gripping onto a corner, but if there are no great places to grip a corner you can use fingertricks like #13. Hope this helps :)

    What other algs should I learn other than full eo

    • @comp.lex4
      @comp.lex4 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There's an EP video on this channel, but some algs I've found helpful are full CP (of couse), and various EPs.
      For non-parity EP, the 3 and 4 slice Opp/Opp algs, adj/adj in front and back, Opp/O, Z, all four single U perms, both good U/U, adj/W. Learning algs here is less important than knowing how to use them- learning different angles, how to use a good alg to go from a bad case to a good one, etc.
      For parity, I recommend starting with Adj and Opp on the U layer (D layer mirrors can be easily setup: for adj, use a single slice as shown in the video, for opp, do an M2 and cancel into undoing it at the end of the alg); I also recommend both O perms and all four Adj/U algs.

    Why is it better to always do one color CO?

    • @CubeMasterYT
      @CubeMasterYT  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      There isn't really any reason to do the wrong color really because then you'll have to side flip, which is not efficient.

      Getting Sub 1 is mostly just getting used to solving and getting decent fingertricks. A bit of practice should get you past that, but if you are struggling just link me a video of a solve and I'll see what I can critique!

      Might make a video on it, but most of the time you don't and you just spam TPS. You do want to one look every step (separately of course) though up to maybe EP, and you can definitely predict CP during EO.
