    *Kind of a long one, but I really wanted to dive into the best oppressive build in each class. Time stamps below though:*
    Oppressive Duration/Debuff overview - 00:46
    Titan Oppressive Build - 3:43
    Hunter Oppressive Build - 8:06
    Warlock Oppressive Build - 13:10
    I forgot to include damage values from chaos accelerant, but it does greatly increase damage and radius of our vortex grenade.

      Distribution cost 4 energy as well and while it might not give you quite as much as enhanced bomber, it recharges your melee, grenade, dodge and your super if you are close to an enemy like Dynamo. Also you can throw your invis smoke at an enemy to proc Impact Induction and then dodge into the enemy you'll grab the invis off the smoke as well in one move. More efficient and should get you that grenade back faster.

    Was gonna message ya about the build a la Titan but decided not to bother. Now that ya made a vid, I gotta add in the build I've been using.
    As you stated, Mid tree Sentinel synergizes amazingly with Heart of Inmost light. The detonators are key in the build to keep going. I know that Voidwall nades are strongest, but also situational depending on enemy/nade placement. MAGNETIC GRENADES 4DAYZ. You get an initial hit that sets the detonator and as the grenade explodes , it sets them off. It has homing capabilities and STICKS to the target. Very underrated in midtree Sentinel.
    MONTE EFFING CARLO THROTTLES THIS BUILD.
    Oh my god. Constantly settling detonators off with Melee procs Markov Chainx5, which in turn, basically gives you back yer melee. Not only are you constantly dishing out high damage with yer gun and overusing your melee, but you are constantly EMPOWERED at this point making grenade recharge rates that much faster+additional damage on melee strikes. Being around those detonations is healing yourself and teammates on top of everything.
    Mods you've touched on well, but the gamechanger involves the Carlo+Magnetic nades. Overall synergy is just constant with high tier damage for days.

    Bottom tree Nightstalker gives you more grenade energy if you make teammates invisible, so in things like strikes, raids, or gambit, you should try to smoke your teammates instead of the enemy and you get even more grenade energy.

    THAT TRANSITION AT 2:45 THOOO

  • @tayloragrey-dunville5491
    @tayloragrey-dunville5491 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    My current solo nova warlock build consists of:
    Bottom tree voidwalker
    Breach refractor & Ballistic combo
    Recluse w/ anti-barrier rounds
    Nezarec's Sin
    Oppressive darkness
    This allows for constant grenades that apply the debuff and kills w/ devour active and w/ anti-barrier recluse proc both the breach refractor, ballistic combo, AND abyssal extractors as long as you can chew through adds. Devour also keeps you alive through all of this making it a super powerful solo build for activities such as vex invasions, gambit, vex offensive, strikes, and anyother activity that throws trash mobs at you. This build also provides hella damage because abyssal extractors allows you to have increased super regen giving you (in my experience) 2-3 nova bombs throughout an activity like vex invasions. Combining frequent nova bombs and constant debuff grenades makes handling bosses SO easy. The best part is that this build will still work with any void energy weapon that can have anti-barrier rounds applied to it or you can use weapons such as Fighting Lion or Graviton Lance and have your primary be anti-barrier. Y'all should try it out sometime!

    For the warlock build, not sure if already mentioned but you can do the same build and use nezaric sin with your choice of void weapon! Its perfect for solo players getting all their abilities back + quicker super recharge as you get more kills with a void weapon.

  • @kotickyle
    @kotickyle 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    For Hunter grenades, the vortex are probably the most used mostly because of the ease of use. The spike do more damage and so do the voidwalls. But, the spike always hits some random piece of geography and manages to be pointing 45 on a flat wall. When D2 started, the voidwall tracking was weird in terms of which way the line goes. The voidwall don't detonate on impact and are only on the ground so you had to be really precise where it landed.

      Another build I've been running is... get this.... Kehpri's Sting!!! HA, with bottom tree Nightstalker, to gain true sight in crucible. Dodge that gives melee back. Most armor with strength mods to get smokes back quickly. Monte carlo for same reason, though i've used rat king, and other weapons to see what they would do. Build thanks to Ms5000Watts. Build is just helpful to gain the advantage of playing field. Thanks for the content Aztecross

  • @abitofsupport601
    @abitofsupport601 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    Been doing this lock build since day 1. I would reccomend having a high strength stat and not discipline, as contraverse + enhanced vortex usually always gets it back. Melee does the very few times it doesnt, and sometimes with both up you can grenade>melee>grenade.
    If someone gets ahold of a solar contraverse: put double enhanced momentum transfer. Its amazing.

    I'm loving the Unstoppable bullets artifact mod for hand cannons. A brief moment of ADS staggers unshielded enemies and some bosses. I've been using that to reliably let my enemies cook in my grenades.

    @BMoney_music27 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    I always love you content brother. My fav content creator to watch for builds, guns, God rolls, etc. But bro I promise the suppresser grenade on this build is where it's at. I've been using this build for a couple of seasons now that I one day randomly stumbled upon. And in Gambit it's my go to. Maybe not for a boss, but for crowd control. And this with armamentarium with this just helps significantly. So between code of the commander, two grenades, oppressive darkness, overload grenades, ashes to assets, and maybe one gun with demolitionist. I found it easy to always have grenades. Plus in PvP I use it and when someone uses there super or I'll throwing it around the corner before heading into a room, it helps. Idk try it and tell me watcha think. Can't wait for more content, keep up the great work brother

  • @nathanking2098

    For the nightstalker part, you can jump at an enemy while throwing smoke to proc enhanced momentum transfer as well as going invisible, thus getting even MORE grenade energy

  • @Morbidmobius
    @Morbidmobius 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hey Aztecross, for us peeps that rock the dress (warlock main) you are forgetting an even better piece of exotic gear that helps with grenade regeneration. Veritys Brow dropped in Warmind and that's probably one that was forgotten. This grants grenade energy in a three tier system and the only thing you need to do to gain it is energy weapon kills. If someone can get this out there to him that'd be cool. Thanks for your videos man!

    You can do a similar variant of the Warlock build by using Nezarec's sin, the Devour tree, and a void secondary for solo play. Requires that you spec as close to 100 Discipline as possible, but honestly 80ish is fine from what I've seen, which certainly makes it user friendly. It'll recharge everything at a decently fast rate, super included, and you'll hve more grenades than you know what to do with to keep that Oppressive Darkness Debuff going. Super great for add clear.

    Thanks again brother informative as always... I appreciate you!

  • @pazPAPAS
    @pazPAPAS 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    I like all three of these, but...well. I don't have Contraverse Hold. Also, I've always been a big fan of Devour, so when I saw an excuse to use that build again, you can bet I jumped at the chance, and..I'm not entirely sure if mine is worse than the Contraverse Hold build you shared.
    Now granted, if there are no trash mobs to kill or you aren't reliably getting last hits on them, Contraverse Hold probably wins hands down. But for the sake of realism, I'm going to assume this isn't a relevant factor most of the time.
    My build uses Vortex Grenades, obviously, because you were 100% right about everything you said. My exotic is Nezarec's Sin, and in my chest armor I have two Breach Refractor. If you don't feel like using that particular glitch, or when they patch it, it's really not needed, because it's 100% overkill.
    My primary weapon is a Recluse with Anti-Barrier Rounds, but if you don't have that..well, first off, now's the time to farm it. But second off, Every Waking Moment is a perfectly viable alternative, or probably some kind of energy auto rifle. Reckless Oracle is probably good. I don't know - I use my Recluse.
    All that, combined with the Insatiable perk, which chunks you back ~20% of your grenade energy with every kill, as well as healing you to full.
    Now, I'm not sure how many of those things are actually needed, but I will say that with tier 10 discipline, my grenade cooldown was shorter than the duration of the Vortex Grenade. If it ever actually ended up on cooldown, no more than three kills with my Recluse would bring it back online. And I can't reiterate too much that Devour also fully heals you when you get a kill.
    Using this build optimally is like having Sunbracers active all the time, but you're also immortal. I'm not gonna say that it's definitively the best build in the history of time or anything, but it's DEFINITELY the most fun I've had. Right up until my clan is like "Alright, pop your Well."
    Edit: and yes, I know that the point here is how to make the grenades hit as hard as possible, and obviously Contraverse Hold + Chaos will beat Devour + anything else every time, but..I think a grenade every 2.5 seconds is probably gonna win the DPS race, even if it loses out on damage per tick.

  • @WolfChieftain

    You've gotta check out an alternate on that Warlock build:
    Bottom tree Voidwalker for Devour
    Recluse
    Nezarec's Sin
    Double Breach Refractor
    Oppressive darkness
    Unlimited grenades, melee's, and rifts. Every kill heals you and helps recharge abilities. You're immortal and everything is debuffed.

    You should make a video telling people that they should farm prism's ascendent shards from nightfalls and how easy it can be to farm a 950. It's worth it. For example, resilience and recovery both make a massive difference. One piece adds an extra +10 across the board, which alone isn't much, but for everything, it's enough to make enough of a difference.

    The one thing I wish bungie would add is a little debuff icon or something under enemy health bars.. I know that we would not be able to see what that debuff was because it would be too small but we all know what our abilities do. So it would be nice to see an icon to know for sure when the debuffs are applied and when they go away. That would be a great add on.

    The area denial for the warlock build in Crucible is fantastic as well. I've commonly gotten triple kills from one well placed grenade. It's AoE is pretty damn big, especially considering how long it lasts. I love tossing it a Titan barricade and watching it melt everyone hiding behind it.
    Also, run enhanced Ashes to assets with this build. Not only will you be wrecking shit with non-stop grenades, you'll be getting supers at a much faster rate. It's honestly kind of broken.

  • @m3tr0id86
    @m3tr0id86 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    Another build that I would recommend is having the same thing on here except have Nezarec's Sin cuz as long as you have Abyssal extractors pretty high oh, it's almost like you have "insert mod here" where it looks like you're pretty much on Mayhem all the time, especially with a charged Axion Bolt to keep it going for at least 20 seconds before it wears out

    Ended up getting a triple kill as a nightstalking hunter just using this class mod and the vortex grenade
    The critical hits you gain from it makes it hit like a truck

    Hey Cross, I absolutely love your videos and watch every single one. I have to ask though, are there any Warlock builds coming? I feel like we have been very very heavily screwed with the new sandbox changes, I honestly can't see how we're useful in any possible way

    Titans have the strongest melees, hunters the best class ability and warlocks have.... the lowest damage grenades! yay
    Well, Top Tree Contraverse still feels really good to play. The randomness of Contraverse Hold is just a little bit annoying sometimes.

    Not going to lie I just found this Titan build like two days ago and if you pair it with recluse with shield piercing rounds and on the chest have the mods that work with weapons that kill with shield piercing rounds then it's a build built for the gods it's crazy

    12:17 Why don't you use kepriis sting and melee the Greg with inhanced melee induction, that way you get your melee grenade back from going invis and damaging Greg with the melee and the smoke. Then Dodge and repeat, obviously while the grenade is down so it can tick for for the smoke.

    I've been running disruption grenades, disruption spike, opressive darkness, Contraverse holds (handheld supernova), wizened rebuke with demolitionist (and the enhanced reload on my arms), and my pluperfect with disruption rounds (enhanced reload on my arms). Next step is to masterwork a fire element warlock's bond and throw enhanced ashes to assets on there with oppressive darkness (which would fully charge it). I'm fwippin , fwoppin and fwoomin left and right boys.

      I'm using the same set up for my warlock. Oppresive and a breach refractor(soon) mod with an anti-barrier weapon, Monte Carlo, and Contraverse. Love being able to just cycle through my abilities easily with a helping debuff along for the ride

    • @mahverick829
      @mahverick829 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Every Waking Moment with Demolitionist and anti-berrier works nicely, too, with ballistic combo and breach refractor. It... actually just replaced Recluse for my Warlock. Haha And, I think I actually prefer Monte Carlo on my Titan, since that's my melee build.

    • @reptil11
      @reptil11 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@mahverick829 i use a gnawing hunger or a orewing's maul for those moments when you're in a pinch and you don't want to spend your cherged meele to recover 10 seconds of nade that you don't have. Also, i use enhanced ashes with opressive darkness, even with 30 intellect you can still use your nova bomb 2 to 3 times per boss if soloing a vex invasion.

    I’ve thought of a build using thunder coil and arc bolt grenades with lucky raspberry making it so I throw the grenade it chains increasing the damage on top of thunder coil increasing damage and then getting h the grenade back making it so you can dish out damage on multiple targets at once and if there is a stronger target it will surely get killed or hurt an substantial amount from the grenade I don’t have many mods yet so I can’t max out discipline and stuff like that for grenade time.

      Batmin Yeah! The oppressive mod you’re looking for in the last column of the artifact, far left side at the bottom when viewing your character.
      Are you a bit confused on how to get exotics? If so, unfortunately it’s totally random or you can get specific random ones from Xur, download the app ”where is xur”. What exactly are you a bit lost on?

    I use the warlock one in crucible and you would be surprised how many people try to rush through a grenade to cap a point or get a shotgun kill and they just can't tank the damage. I was playing with friends and they banned me from using it (against them) cause it was almost an instant kill.
