Thank you so, so much for this (and your previous video on reassembly!). You have saved me literally hundreds of Euro on doing the repair on this lens myself: if you are ever in Dublin, I will more than gladly buy you a pint!! Cheers!!
hello just question please my problem i think is the same it stucks and not turning the zoom completly, so my question is can i only move the rubber ring and some screws because it must alresdy there the brocken piece of plastic stucks or it need all?
@@joekamouh2002 I think it's not Bad i use it for production Photos I like it but my friend use it Outdoor Take sots for view and plants He told that he didn't like the colors but for me is OK sharpness and the colors, specially my work is over raw and so I correct the colors manually
I don't have that lens, therefore I don't have a video about it. Error 01 usually means that the aperture is not working, usually the cable is broken, and should be replaced.
Got this lens for free from a friend. The problem with this lens is that the zoom is stuck. Can only zoom like 24-40mm or similiar. Cant go further. It stops. Focus ring seems to be working though. Took a while to figure out that i could pull and push on the outer focus ring to Auto/Manual focus. Fixable?
I had this problem before. For me the problem was that few screws were got loose and that prevented zooming. I would advice to remove the focusing barrel, and check the screws under it.
It is no need to disassemble the manual focus tube. Just follow this video until 09:15, then expand the lens (zoom to 24mm), then you can see the screws on the side of the lens. Most likely the screws are loose which are connecting the front lens tube with the rest of the lens.
@@CamerasLensesEtc Thank you so much again for helping! I really need to clean this lens inside and outside.. its in rough shape. Fingerprints on the glass outside of both ends. And glue on the mount??! and both rubber grips have three parts/spots where it is grey/white.. guess its because of old rubber? can it be cleaned or just replace them? or just leave as they are? its just for estetics :D Just found your channel. Scrolled though your lists of videos. Lots of usable.. i wish that i had a Canon EF 24-70 f2.8 USM. My father has one and its really sharp! Heavy though. Or a 70-200 f2.8 USM L. I have the f4 USM L version. Very much lighter but requires a little bit more of light.. I guess there are some faulty lenses out there that can be repaired. New they are really really expensive.. also expensive used. People selling them for quite much even when theyre old.
@@CamerasLensesEtc i thought you maybe had a video on your lens when fixing that zoom issue but couldnt find one :) i friend of mine has a Nikon lens that has some issues too.. maybe i will look into it. maybe there is a video on youtube how to fix :D ill guess parts isnt easy to find? if something needs to be replaced.
This video is about disassembling the manual focusing ring, and it is not necessary to remove the front lens to do that. I'll have a complete disassembly soon.
@@CamerasLensesEtc Thank you very much for your contribution, it helped me a lot to disarm the lens, although I'm seeing how to finish disarming it so I can clean it more deeply.
