very informative! I will try to disassemble my 24-70 to attemp a repair and perform a deep clean. My focus ring and my focus lenght ring get stuck to eachother and prevent the movement of one or both the elements as if a slider/screw inside got stuck. This is my first lens disassembly and repair attempt and i'm a little bit afraid of doing something wrong, do you have experience with this kind of issue with this lens? Sending good vibes, you are a real one!!
Sometimes the plastic collar get broken (those are small plastic ring around screws which helps the lens tubes slide), maybe that is the cause. But I would just start disassembling the lens, and after removing a part, try to zoom. Sooner or later you will find out which part is causing the problem.
I don't have video about it. If the manual focus is moving freely, and the autofocus motor is not moving the focusing lens elements, then you might clean or polish the motor (the teeth and the metal ring where the teeth sliding), if that doesn't help, then you have to replace the motor.
I want to buy really sigma 24 70 for sony moun lens but this hall think with dust make me think it twice!cause ive see that sigma for sony came dusty fast also. Anyway,if you always have filter on lens ,and you have them always on camera ,one lens not change, dust will be inside again so fast????
i tried to open a sigma lens which is the 16mm 1.4 for sony apsc. but after removiing the first part, it seems that there is no way to remove the front glass, there is no screws in front ,
Hi thanks for the videos very helpful. is there any way to remove the front element without using lens opening tools ? I can't find one in my country and i have to clean my lens ASAP please hope you'll answer my question
Thanks for your video on this lens! Do you have any idea where one might get a replacement for the front plastic part that carries the filter thread and lens hood?
I checked ebay and marktplaats, but I haven't found any. Other option would be wait until a broken, same lens is for sale on ebay for cheap, buy it, replace the ring and resell it for repair parts.

Bonjour vous auriez une vidéo pour réparer l'autofocus de ce modèle ? merci pour votre réponse

Dust comes in the lens between the front lens tube and the other tube which that goes into.

Can't you remove it with a lens opening tool? ( =unscrewing the front lens part)
it is possible to clean the fongus in between the front element glass?
Generally, no. It is almost impossible the remove the two lens elements then glue them together properly.
What size screwdriver do you use to remove the screw?
As I have mentioned in the "tools" section of the video, I used a PH000 screwdriver.

Use a thick (drinking)glass with the same size of the front lens cover, and put double sided adhesive tape on the side for grip.
@@CamerasLensesEtc thank you I'll try this method
