I got recommended this after watching a video from SalC1, and I thought this video would have a few million views. It certainly has mass appeal. Great video!
As a 2b2t player myself, 29:43 really stuck out to me. “No direction but that which the player imposes on themselves, no limits but that which the player is not willing to overcome, and no rules but those which the player chooses to create.” In my opinion, this mantra summarizes what 2b2t is in a very good way. Thank you for this.
Truly a masterwork video, KRB! That last part about 2b2t not having any consequences and the consequences (hehe) of that in its emergent behavior is a very interesting point that I've never heard before. The fact that 2b2t history is often framed in a way similar to dramatized depictions of actual history helps to obscure this fact, in my opinion. By creating parallels between history and 2b2t history, we obscure the nuances that both have.
I've often wondered what a server like this would be like if people _could_ permanently die, a hardcore anarchy server with the same reach as 2B2T so it doesn't die out after the first few weeks due to everyone being dead. People might be more hesitant to outright destroy things due to the possibility of them dying in the siege, order could be maintained, wars would have real consequences (Even if it's just paying for another Minecraft account). I would love if Hausemaster ran an experiment like this. The only problem is, if it's an 'experiment', it has that same sense of impermanence and a relative lack of consequences without the longevity of 2B2T proper.
I messed around on an adjacent anarchy server called Civcraft (then later civcraftlegacy) which sort of emulated that; The End was retooled into a massive "prison" for players who were killed when the killer was holding a certain item. That item could be used to set the player banished to the end free. These items (called prison pearls) were HIGHLY sought after, and stored deep within gigantic vaults that players would expend hundreds of in-game hours building
One thing to me that’s incredible to me as an outsider to 2b2t is the sheer level of innovation for finding ways to bypass certain measures Housemaster puts in place. For example the ways in which people travel is constantly changing due to anti cheat changes so it’s like a constant cat and mouse game between the players and the admin.
Even as a newer 2b player, it's fascinating how the old players can manipulate the narrative for sometimes YEARS (check out project 'no comment') and still come out on top.
I have played Minecraft since 2011 and been on 2b2t since 2016. I must say is one of the most amazing 2b2t videos I've ever seen, very well done. I myself am a 2b2t historian, I spend all my time looking for old bases and signs and trying to uncover the stories behind them. I have always been intrigued with history irl and once I found 2b, I knew it was going to be my digital home. The quality of this video was incredible and I am def subbing because of it. Great work man!
I genuinely thought you where a youtuber with 1mil+ subs because of your production value. but nope your just doing it for the love at this point, you got my subscription.
Having a historical event from a video game that I learned about somewhere else, being mentioned in another video feels so weird in my mind thinking about that and the connection. I love 2b :)
This is an incredibly well done video. In the intro it almost felt like I was watching a documentary. Well... I really felt that the whole video. I don't know how this only got 2k likes, but I know it deserves a lot more. This is incredibly impressive. Great, astonishing, amazing job making this.
I’ve always wanted to join 2b2t but I have lacked a good quality computer. In the meantime I have been studying the server to prepare myself fully for survival in such a hell-hole
I don't usually like videos but this one was really well executed and edited. The narrative was really good too, and the content you presented is also really interesting. It must have taken you weeks to do this! All in all 10/10, for all of that you truly deserve my like and many other's, good job!
UM EXCUUUUUUSE ME?!?! I DONT KNOW WHO YOU ARE, BUT THIS WAS LITERALLY, SO WELL EDITED AND SO WELL TOLD. ONLY 30k subscribers, and barely 15k views. THIS NEEDS MILLIONS . YOU DID SUCH A GREAT JOB wow I’m freaking subbing I can’t believe how good this was wowow I hope u get more subs 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
11:44 Peppered Steak is by far one of the best intro themes I've seen used to introduce 2b2t. This look at things certainly has given me a bit more of an insight and respect for the concept of an Anarchy server overall, especially the archeology bit, absolutely love that fact.
You should look/relate 2b2ts response to loss of control/external threats to their normal. Great content so far, I look forward to your future videos...
The weird thing about humans is we have free will we can do whatever we want but are brains can't comprehend that so we restrict our selves and limit what we can do or be
Damnn this is so high quality, Good job! The points were carried thoroughly and clearly. I have a real short attention span but this really catched my attention.
this is actually really interesting, and was a good watch as a 2b2t player one point i'd like to make though: parallels between real history and 2b2t is very common, and even players themselves notice them all the time for example, the spawnmasons on 2b2t are very similar to the free masons in real life
As one of the leaders of the Spawnmasons, I can say for certain that its nothing like the freemasons IRL. Max is just mad that we stole his stash with nocom.
this was sooOoOOOOOOOOoOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO WELL DONE AND THE EDITING IS SO GOOD AND TH_E wya you tell ur little silly story is great1!!1!!!! you make anything intresting
I just want to say thanks for making these great videos even though they don't get the attention they deserve. These are amazing, I shared you to my friends.
I just discovered your videos and it seems like you put a lot of time into your research. The visuals you choose really compliment the stories you tell, just seeing some of those old minecraft textures as well as the alpha lighting was very nostalgic. I also like your intro, it reminds me of when I pick up a wifi signal and TH-cam goes out of data saver.
Ive recently rediscovered you and i can tell you that im surprised you arent in the hundreds of thousands of subscribers, your editing style is like disrupt, i like it
The world you describe in 2b2t where death matters little reminded me of Cruelty Squad a little. It becomes a very different world as long as you take just one thing like death out of the picture.
It'd be fascinating to see how long adding just the simple addition of the hardcore route would drastically change 2b2t's or something like it. The consequence for death, a loss of everything. There would have to be specific changes (See wild teleports upon server first load) to prevent spawn-locking but it'd be different for sure.
11:49 Loving the Deltarune music followed by - much to my surprise - OFF music! Love to see my favorite indie RPG soundtracks in a well-made TH-cam video!
I imagine that a reason people build such amazing structures in such a perilous is to create consequence. When we invest time, we invest life, when that is destroyed it is like a percentage of your real death. A part of your life has been destroyed. But this may also be why people there are so invested in their own mythology, from the wiki, to the epic efforts they will invest in monuments to their worthiness of being remembered. When 11 years is a very long time and all your efforts will soon be in ruin, it’s only the memories and the stories that remain.
i just binged a bunch of ur videos and i gotta say, you have incredible editing skills. glad i found this channel and i hope many others follow suit. great channel
Hi, just wanted to let you know that the map 2b2t currently runs is not the one it launched from - there is proof that the oldest chunks generated on the server were from Feb 9, 2011, but the server existed since 2010. It's still an incredibly old map, I thought thought it was an interesting piece of trivia.
I play on VanillaCraft (the one with the duck icon), a fully vanilla SMP server (it's the leading vanilla server, or atleast in the top 5). Pretty much the only restrictions are the admins don't offer tps or items, and ban hackers; other than that its pretty much do what you want. I've seen everything mentioned in this video about 2b2t; raiding groups, griefing groups, clans, trade, towns, alliances, betrayals, engineers building tunnels spanning the nether, republics, communists, democracy, temples, shrines, statues, holy places, and of course, drama and wars. It also has its own wiki page (including a history and current state of the various groups(clans) and alliances and wars), as well as its own newsletter that was updated and distributed every sunday (called the sunday scoop or something). So 2b2t is not the only server out there with such things
Heard the name before but never knew just how influential 2b2t was/is. The abundance of resources and lack of consequences almost make this feel like creation myths for a pantheon of Gods.

also if a anarcky server had hardcore things would be alot different

this channel has a lot of potential. the quality, aesthetic, sound, narration, its all impressive. cant wait until you hit 1M!

I’ve always wanted to join 2b2t but I have lacked a good quality computer. In the meantime I have been studying the server to prepare myself fully for survival in such a hell-hole
it isnt that hard tbh all u need is a boat, a lil food, and some tools
dont sweat it
all you need is just a bit of time as you can just die until you reach a highway
as long as you don't starve it shouldn't be too hard
bruh I joined after seeing 1 video and made it out of spawn first try during a youtuber invasion, it's not bloody hard
@Esh no dip
Unless you have the money to fork over 20-30 dollars for a good hacked client, i wouldnt recommend playing for long.
as a 2b player, this by far one of the most accurate videos from a outsiders perspective ive seen in awhile, great job my man
why doesn't this have more views? seriously, it should've hit half a million by now

Thanks for punching me in the face with that Pepper Steak 11:44
As a 2b2t player, This video was extremely acurate and to the point, well done man.
This is such a good/cool channel! So good at informational videos
Housemaster is fitmc.
I refuse to budge on this point.

This look at things certainly has given me a bit more of an insight and respect for the concept of an Anarchy server overall, especially the archeology bit, absolutely love that fact.
Hell yeah! OFF soundtrack!
In regards to Death, The Horizons made a hardcore anarchy server. Because of this, very little pvp is done for this reason.

This is a remarkable documentary! I honestly did know some things about 2b2t, but this makes me very eager to hear more about the server again.
the fact that this only has 9k views is stupid. incredible video!
