What do you mean when saying American?Their ancestors are most likely from Britain, they are obviously of European descent not Native Americans(Indians).
Wes Anderson is one of the most unique directors to ever work in film. There's something so magical about the stories he creates. Genius is an understatement for someone who can create film like this. ❤️
Anderson is a fantastic story tellers. Not just only the story in which he almost whimsically shows our humanity, frailties and all but visually as well. People always talk about his sets and visual direction. Different asp3ct ratios and all that. But, his stories aren't just quirky funny. I suspect they reflect Wes Anderson and his life experiences which.. all great artists draw from their own experiences. In am era of Hollywood where just so juch utter garbage is made with massive budgets...I'm so thankful there is a Wes Anderson that can still make these wonderful movies. The French Dispatch, IMHO, may just be his masterpiece. When I read a review complaining about the disjointed story and too many "Wes Anderson" shots.. it tells me everything I need to know about them. You actually need to use your brain watching his movies and... be able to get in touch with your inner child to a degree. His movies are the only movies I truly can wait to see!
It would have been hilarious if during the behind the scenes he says these phrases: 1.) "So I'd like a dolly tracking shot" 2.) "Hey could we make this more symmetrical?" 3.) "Are you sure they dont need camping equipment?" 4.) "Can we shoot this but like in slow mo to David bowie?"
Hi there. A Key Grip and his Grips can have many responsibilities, but primarily, Grips are builders and riggers-they work with the Gaffer to rig lighting, they build/run cranes, dollies and other ways of moving the camera, and they rig large reflectors/diffusion/negative fill. Grips rock.
this movie is has an allegorical feel about it, it pertains to the state and happenings of the Roman Catholic church in the 20th century. The clues: 1) the society of the crossed keys is referencing the Holy See, which is the Vatican, the fraternity of concierges represent the Jesuits and their connectivity and have lobby boys which are kind of like alter servers/ lower Jesuits (notice how all the concierges are not married/don't have wedding rings at a time when it was the norm to be married by 25). 2) The main character's trait of admiration for/by an older generation particularly lonely women. This demographic has a high amount of fellowship in the church, they are the ones who give the most gifts to the organization, some being extremely generous. The concierge basically lived in luxury due to the excess he received from these women, which, in turn, he gave solace and companionship to the weak willed. 3) the birthmark shaped of Mexico: This was one of the most weirdest aspects of the movie, this girl named Agatha that falls in love with the lobby boy who is the man servant of the main character, she has a birthmark shaped like Mexico on her right cheek and becomes "inducted" in the Grand Budapest Hotel. she gives undying loyal to both of them. This is suppose to represent Latin America being taken off the missionary list which means they are a solid catholic country in the eyes of the Vatican, the blind faith of the countries of Latin America shows itself through her essential behind the scenes workings that save them from doom. She ends up dying and eventually the main character dies and the lobby boy takes over everything including the hotel, in the present time of the story the hotel is sort of way passed its prime and has faded out of importance due to the lack of aristocracy in control (just like the Catholic church). When the lobby boy was asked why did he keep the hotel, surely it wasn't because he reminisced about the pomp, he replied "of course not, I stayed for Agatha." this could mean that even though the church used to have great influence on powerful nations it now stays functional due to the "undying love" that Latin America gives to the church. YEAH IT'S NUTS.
What other film is set in a hotel, where the head waiter is nasty to the boys n gets drunk n might be outed by one of the other waiters. It's bugging me
wes anderson and ed norton are the most british looking american people ive ever seen in my life
What do you mean when saying American?Their ancestors are most likely from Britain, they are obviously of European descent not Native Americans(Indians).
So true
its like all white people came from europe or something
What a dumb statement. Where do you think white people are from?
The whoosh is strong in this thread.
I love when films are filmed like this and not on crappy green screens. It feels so much more real not like you´re just making a movie
that's retarded because they utilized a lot of green screens in this film.
Retartedfarted123 They probably meant how the hotel itself is real on the inside.
Actually they used a very minimal amount of green screen. The ski chase had some and very little besides that.
easy to say when you've got a budget of $25 million
Gianluca Giordimaina well, the video shows a bit from the mountain chase, showing how the background was fake
why is wes anderson always dressed like a character from one of his own movies
jbn675478 what the hell is you’re problem with Wes?
buen punto
jbn675478 damn, y’all are sad and judgemental... must be miserable knowing you’re gonna be working a cubicle job forever, huh?
jbn675478 You are a douche.

Fiennes is an excellent actor.
bostria I agree
You’re totally right
The Fiennest.
Cortlan is also excellent!
He can play so many different roles, not something a lot of actors can pull off at that level. He is not restricted to one role.
I played this movie on repeat for weeks on a spare laptop. Music score alone is brilliant.
Love Wes Anderson. Such an inspiring director, and this movie looks amazing.
I would pay to watch Wes Anderson work
Wes Anderson is a national treasure. What a genius! I roared throughout this movie, at the subtle visuals! Should have won every award.
I could watch an entire movie just about Deputy Kovacs.
Wes Anderson has moved beyond the description of supremely gifted film-maker. He is America's pre-eminent auteur.
RIP people wearing headphones at 4:14

What would be odd is if you had a Wes Anderson on your crush.
what would be even more odd is if crush has wes anderson.
Nabila Nadiansyah He's so quirky. Reminds me of Paul Dano.
Frozen Mango i also love dano and thomas middleditch too

Just watched it second time in my life. In love in this movie. Grate work. Love it.
I would love to be key grip on that set, let alone camera assistant.
Oh dude, totally agree!
Heck, I would be thrilled just to be the boy handling the cast latrines!
Seriously, even the food prep would be cool with me.
Went to the adavanced-screening the other day here in Miami, movie was Awesome.
Hi! Never really understood what key grip means? What is it that one does in that position?

The gun scene so loud so funny
It’s weird to see Wes Anderson sets assymetrically
One of the best movie I have seen marvellous

I thought Tony (Zero) was in his early twenties here but come to find out he was only around 17 or something when they were filming.

If you want to make movies when you grow up , study this movie !!
I have been doing that for 5 years now
Can't wait to see the film!
Man the camera does so much of the work it's insane
it's crazy to think that grown up Zero is the guy that gets hanged from a helicopter in Scarface
+FabyBaby 36 ...or that Lord Voldemort is a concierge of a hotel.

loved the movie loved this video
This is not B-Roll. This is free-style, hand held, behind the scenes, how the film was made footage. B-Roll makes it into the picture, this won't.
Wes Anderson 😘😘
looking at him makes me happy
What's the name of the tiny screen Wes is looking through at 5:42 and where can I buy one?
Not sure what that one is exactly, but any monitor plus a teradek can do that.
Görlitz... You'll never leave, ... Mwoaharharhar!
Why is Adrien Brody so adorable
You got that B-ROLL?
always thought how good it would be to live at this time but only if you were rich ,i enjoy my current time ,as if we have a choice,
What kind of microphone were they using at 3:41?
And then you can start bang bang bang, bang bang bang, bangbangbabababababang
oh yes Wes is really detailed
what's happening at 2:59? is this a rehearsal or is this footage they would actually use?
what is a B-roll?
i am so fucking keen
I am packed ! Were do I get my visa ?
This is not B-roll, these are BTS. I love it, anyway.
HoW Beautiful 😍😍
Hollywood magic 120%

Wes Anderson looks like John Ritter.
He's the Beck of Film Making.
