    My Frenchie's don't like it much when I blend them together like that. My picky monsters told me to put them on a plate and separate them like a human is eating it. Lol

    I like the idea of the blueberry and pumpkin seeds. Going to try this for sure. Did you use frozen or fresh blueberry’s ??

    Hi! I can’t wait to try this recipe. How do you recommend storage for one pup? In your video you said it only last 2 days. Do you recommend freezing? Should I cut the recipe in half? thank you in advance!!

      You absolutely can treat this as a meal prep, separate into daily portions and then freeze any portion that will not be eaten within two days. Ideally, you could take out tomorrow’s portion from your freezer the night before and allow it to defrost in the fridge so when you wake up in the morning, your pups meal is ready to be eaten. In all honesty when you do this for a long time, it is a little bit of a hassle and I find it’s easier to make a large batches once a week or even once in two weeks rather than preparing meals like every single day. If you have reusable Tupperware you can put the daily portions in there to freeze.

      Add some organ meat to your mix to help with appetite:) Organs should be no more than 10% of the total mix. The easier organs to find in grocery stores are liver and heart. You might be able to find kidneys at farmers markets and co ops:)

      I you feed him kibble its no surprise your dog wont eat much. Dogs deserves good food just as we eat, not some dry crap. Raw food is the most healthy, preferably grass fed /organic.

    I’m totally trying this recipe. My one question is how do you calculate the amount of food they get on a daily I’m trying to switch my dogs from kibble to completely raw

    • @nwfrenchies8168
      @nwfrenchies8168  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      A puppy will eat 10% of his/her body weight daily. Adults eat about 3% of their body weight daily. Less if they are obese, elderly, sedentary. More if they are active, pregnant, or nursing.

    I just found your channel. I feed my 7 dogs Dr Harvey's and it's so difficult to feed them all individually the exact amount of mix and protein. It would make it so much easier to make one big dish like you did, but when I talked with Dr Harvey's people they said that it wouldn't be balanced. What's your opinion on that? It would make it so much easier for me to do it like you do, but I'm afraid about it not being balanced.

      Dr. Harvey's is going to tell you whatever makes you buy more of their product. Make it in big batches. It doesn't matter.

    Hello I have a question how do I get turkey with bone ??

    • @nwfrenchies8168
      @nwfrenchies8168  17 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I purchase the meat pre ground from a company called Happy Tails. I live in Washington State. I found this company through a local co op called WAZZUORRAW. You may be able to find a co op near you via this website.
      keepthetailwagging.com/raw-dog-food-co-op-near-me/
      Some boutique pet stores sell meat grinds. Some butcher shops will sell meat grinds. And some folks grind their own meat and bone. And finally some families will use a recipe book and add calcium supplants to balance the calcium and phosphorus without using bone. And finally some people will use egg shells as their calcium source. I would just check a recipe book for the amount to use if you are using supplements or eggshells rather than 10% ground bone.

    Can i feed this recipe to my 8 week old lilac?

    • @nwfrenchies8168
      @nwfrenchies8168  17 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Yes absolutely. I start my puppies on raw straight from weaning off of breast milk. Puppies eat approximately 10% of their body weight in raw per day.

      This is a template you can use so that you can interchange ingredients but maintain a similar nutritional profile.
      10% ground bone
      5-10% ground organ
      10-20% vegetable, fruit, grain
      60-70% muscle meat

    How much do you feed to each dog

    • @nwfrenchies8168
      @nwfrenchies8168  17 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Each dog eats approximately 1lb per day. These are breeding dogs, and active dogs so they do eat a bit more than what you typically see recommended online. The internet will tell you 2-5% of body weight in raw food per day. My dogs will eat at least 5% of their body weight per day.

    with raw meat, you are not afraid of them getting e-coli or salmonella?

    • @nwfrenchies8168
      @nwfrenchies8168  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      No, because this meat is previously frozen. The deep freeze process kills bacteria and parasites. I do not let my meat sit out and get warm. It’s still very cold when I mix and feed this meat and if there is any unfinished portion that goes straight into the refrigerator. Canines stomach acids are much stronger than humans and the digestive track is shorter as well. Their bodies are designed to eat this food:)

    • @gcristian929gmail
      @gcristian929gmail ปีที่แล้ว

      actually Parasites are the only thing that can get killed when frozen but your freezer has to reach a certain freezing point under -4 Fahrenheit & it has to be in the freezer for at least 7 days. Bacteria, e-coli & salmonella only go dormant. The only way to kill those are by cooking it at 160f +. Dogs are pretty resistant handling these bacterias unlike us humans but just be precautious. Especially with turkey since they contain the highest levels of bacteria & salmonella than any other meat.
