Good question! Just so you know rings are soldered not welded cus welding would be really messy and it would need a lot of clean up. And I can assure you that these rings will last even if they aren't soldered. He makes his rings out of thick stainless steel spoons so they're durable, hard to bend, scratch resistant and they take a long time to tarnish. This type of ring is called a cuff ring and they are meant to stay open, it's just the style. Thank you for asking nicely! I really appreciate it. That’s honestly an incredibly fair price considering the work he did to make it a ring. It might seem like nothing, but the equipment and making of it is well worth at minimum 15 bucks plus the 30 for the spoon itself
If someone sends you a metal, lighter case, for example, are you in the position to melt the metal into the shape of a good ring and would you be able to add black ash onto the ring, rimmed with Seaglass and a finished with a small compass as the centerpiece? I only ask because I have seen all sorts of powders being used with glue, and even buffed to a shine. My children’s father has passed away, and I would love to make that ring specifically if you are able to.
