Hi Tasha, you're on fire today girl (I would do the little emojis but that's beyond my techniqual abilities LOL). Tom T. Hall is one of my very favorite singer/songwriters. He is in my top 5 American song writers any genre. He has a great way of capturing that little slice of life. One of my other favorites by him that is not as well known is " Trip to Hayden" It is about a mining disaster in Kentucky in the early 70's. He also wrote " Harper Valley P.T.A." for Jeannie C. Riley. On another subject I've recently been exposed to a newer singer called William Beckman who has a song called "Bourbon Whiskey" that I think most subs. Would like. Any way thanks for this reaction you just made my night.
A couple other great Tom T Hall songs are "Faster Horses (The Cowboy and The Poet)" and "Old Dogs, Children and Watermelon Wine".

Wow! I can't believe you did this one! Tom T. Hall was big in the 70s I submitted this song because it's not one of his more played songs but yes he is 100% country and also known as "the story teller".

Thank you for doing some Tom T Hall. His music was a part of my family through some really tough times. My mom passed in 1976 when I was 6 and my dad played Tom T 8 track a lot. His favorite was Me and Jesus also Remember the Day Clayton Delaney Died

Just a note, I think that when he says "she turned me out," I don't believe that he is referring to any form of prostitution. I may be wrong, of course, but I think that it's more along the lines of she simply grew tired of him 😂

Unless it tells a good story, Tasha, it isn't a country song. And there are few country music songwriters who have been as soulful as Tom T. Check out "The Homecoming" and "The Ballad if Forty Dollars"--I believe you'll love them.
