    Awesome!!! Great song, glad you chose it! I still have this single 45 from my youth. Tom T. was one of the greats, from close to where I live, in Olive Hill, Kentucky. Just recently passed away.

      We have a lot of viewers that want to see us react to the old school stuff. Some of them even send us bourbon! Personally, I think I prefer the old school artists, just to understand the roots of everything. And that's even with recognizing the incredible talent of some of the newer folks. - Keith

    Tom T. Hall loved to bet on horse races. He was well known around different horse tracks especially Church Hill Downs. He also kept a house boat on Lake Cumberland in Russell Springs, KY for years.

    The ultimate story teller in 1995 he recorded a whole album named Songs For Children
    My kids loved it so much they wore the disk out.

    When I was a teenager in the 70's there was an "old time cowboy" and horse show judge who had the title of this song painted on the side of his horse trailer!

    Tom T Hall has a moonshine still on display at the Cluntry Music Hall Of Fame.
    I could probably write paragraphs about Tom just from my memories as a kid.
    "The Year Clayton Delaney Died" is pretty amazing.

    Please consider reacting to An 8 second ride by Chris Leduex. Epic bull riding footage and great country music.

    Tom T Hall is known simply as "the storyteller" because he was that good at writing that type of song.

    I like a lot of the older country like this! The Outlaw country and the 90’s country! Check out David Allan Coe “You never called me by my name! Real unique artist that’s written a lot of country songs for other big artist, but never went Nashville on us!

    Another question... what is weeded?...older person with limited knowledge of bourbons, only had the usual suspects, J D and J B, but would like to expand the scope...

    • @BourbonCountryReacts
      @BourbonCountryReacts  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Ahh... not "weeded." But, "wheated." A wheated bourbon has a high volume of wheat grain in the mash mix. It often gives a sweeter flavor, and sometimes improves smoothness. - Keith

    Tom T has a plethora of hits to his name, both as writer and performer. One of his most famous is 'A Week In A Country Jail,' and I've always loved 'Ravishing Ruby,' which, like 'Faster Horses,' includes some great horn accents. Havw you guyts tried Knob Creek bourbon, yet? It was probably my very favorite woody bourbon.
