You arrived as a Journeyman smith, worked hard for her, provided her shop with valuable weapons you made with your own materials (which I am sure they sold at a profit), and gained the skills of a Master smith. That is literally the point of the apprentice system. And it’s not like you’re setting up shop directly next to her. And after all, she set up just down the road from the Skysteel Forge. She’ll understand.
It's fairly common to use higher grade metals for important parts of an item and then use cheaper metals in places where it doesn't matter as much. If you've ever played the game Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord, the blacksmithing system in that game has you use multiple grades of iron/steel to craft items as well. May your surgery be successful and your recovery as quick and painless as possible!

Man, as someone who has done some IRL smithing, making 1,600 rings in one go is uhh... well, let me put it this way: A hammer, while absolutely a valuable smithing tool, is built for flattening metal, not shaping rings lol

Yeah but the Jewelry Merchants in Skyrim don't have money generally. Like I usually find the Jewelry Stalls have like 50-75 septims on them normally. About enough to buy a single unadorned Gold Pendant/Ring. Or maybe like 3 Silver Rings. Almost not worth it.

If you sell to the Adriana outside and then sell to the War Maidens, then they no longer run off each other's money. Don't ask why, they just don't. But if she is inside of war maidens, then they do.

I haven't watched the whole video yet, but make sure to level your smithing (obviously), but also speech is really important if you want more sell value, etc. Additionally, not super far away there should be an orc stronghold with ebony ore. (I wish you a speedy recovery. 🙏)
You should probably invest in getting a horse. You can't bring them into cities if I remember correctly but you can still run on a horse while over encumbered and get to other places outside the cities.
when you were talking about the possibility of if there is too many blacksmiths in whiterun already you have to remember the imperials will prefer to die than buy from the gray manes and the warmaiden were complaining about too many orders so I’m sure you will find a good market to sell your weapons during the civil war in skyrim
So... remember that chest you picked? The gold ore was right behind you 😉 Another mod you might find useful for this run is Glowing Ore Veins 300 - makes it much easier to find veins. in case you didn't know, at the very top of the throat of the world there are many ebony ore veins, how you get there you will have to figure it out but just a heads up. there is a similar amount in the cave in the rift called bitterblade hollow (near the last vigil) that was added by the anniversary edition
honestly with seeing how few coins you would get for everything unless its something like just starting out to dont make much I honestly would love to see you just increase the value of what you make enough to make it worth while and because watching you I started playing Skyrim again tho I dont have access to the mods you do since im on xbox one but still fun none the less

By the looks of it, you'd need to work endless hours to pay of the 20000,- price of the forge, which is probably why she'd put the letter next to the forge she already owns; she was going to use the letter to kindle the fire. At worst, you should feel bad about stealing her kindling.

Without competitors in these types of markets than the true value of your wares or craft couldn't be valued
