Matthew Lillard was the highlight of the film. He and the lawyer were the only ones who nailed the campy attitude. Not that the lawyer was great, but i suppose it worked for a few minutes before he died.
If not for Lillard and the design of the Monsters this movie would have been even worse. But i Dont consider It has though, just that It did not manage to use the 100% of the potential. I really Hope they remake this or make a TV series about the ghosts. The ghosts were the best

When I win the lottery I am recreating both this set and the one from the dreadful but sublimely set designed 90s version of the haunting, complete with excessive use of velvet stepping stones and creepy carousel of mirrors. The most obnoxious of uber modern and uber Victorian..Then me and select pets and companions would go.there and shut ourselves away from the world and get spooky!

Honestly I don’t see why this movie constantly gets so much hate. Good actors. Good makeup. Good concept all around. If you fail to realize that then I’m sorry for you. You’re missing out. 🤷🏼♀️ I like you none the less. You’re funny. But honestly man give it another chance.

P.s. nice Kung pow joke. This movie came out right around my highschool years. I was pretty stupid back then. I remember liking it for the most part but that ending ruined it for me. Im not a fan of happy cheesing ending and especially in horror. Probably liked it cause I had a hug Cruse in Shannon Elizabeth too
Am I the only one that actually really likes Matthew Lillard? like he light "over act" a sh*t ton but I still find him really funny and engaging to watch.. and I really like the plot dvice of the glasses.. it adds all that extra tension of who has glasses and who doesn't at the start.. so they can all fight over getting them
I've watched this as a kid, and this scared the living shit out of me. The "chubby Mc baby freak" ghost scared me, so did the "princess" ghost. And the part where the lawyer gets sliced scared me too. And watching you reviewing this movie and making jokes out of this makes me choke up my pepsi lol. I remember watching this movie at a neighbor's house with my older brother...when I was 5. Needless to say, I was scared shitless and had nightmares of "the jackal" for quite some time. Also, I was practically glued to my parent's bed. 👶🏻

I watched this movie when I was younger and I liked it a lot and I have to admit that I still like it. I think the house looks really cool even if it was impractical as a house, but it was a storage unit for ghosts and the whole reason the dad was brought there to sacrifice himself to power that machine and if all had went according to plan the uncle would have definitely killed the kids and nanny, at least that was what I was thinking so it being a livable home was not that important in the grand scheme. The ghosts are interesting to look at and very distinct which I liked and I liked learning about each ghost in the extras of the DVD.
Not sure if it would be good to do for Halloween or Christmas but my buddy and roommate made a movie called white doomsday. I'd be interested in seeing your take/review on it. With Halloween around the corner and Christmas around the block it might be good timing
