This movie holds, I showed this to my younger cousin and she thought this movie came out recently. I told her that this movie came out in 1996 a few years before she was born and she could not believe it. Still a great watch!
The only common thing with both properties is they were about witches and that Charmed's theme song was in the craft. The theme song was the reason why that rumor went around but if you replaced the theme song there is very few things similar about the shows Charmed was really about family and sisterhood , the characters are older too and have active powers which each sister can perform , Charmed had whitelighters. The craft is essentially about highschool teen witches who turn on each other in the end so you cant even say its about great friendship, Magic works very differently between both series ,both are very different things essentially You cant say Star wars ripped off Star trek because they are both sci fi films featuring alien planets and spaceships Inspired by is more accurate since the stories were different , I actually like both the craft and charmed
I love the movie 90s kid here... Watching a movie growing up has a different impact as compared to when you are post 30 and desensitized by the consumption of media
RaedFrost - one of th beat Halloween and witch movies ever made IMO. Th jokes still hold up and it's still such an entertaining movie. Even after twenty years and now that I'm an adult I still try to watch it every Halloween. LoL
That's the vibe I get from theNewBee. I use to be a big fan of NC but he tries too hard to be funny. He tries to make jokes so much that he kind of distracts from reviewing the actual movie. Not trying to bash NC, just personally enjoy TNB much more
I love this movie, I watched it religiously for years. I love that it touches all the important topics so many teens face on daily basis. Thank you for the review, Tom.
Hi guys, I advise you to listen to the soundtrack of the movie. Good stuff in there, like Heather Nova's cover of Peter Gabriel's "I have the touch". Nice vid as usual!
Thank you for justifying my opinion of Darren. I can understand don't abuse magic or whatever but if the house is clean and you can save money on expenses what exactly is the problem???
"Absolute power does not corrupt absolutely, absolute power attracts the corruptible." - Frank Herbert This movie did have the coolest soundtrack when it came out.
My ten year old sisters watched this movie over and over. When there was one tv in the house and no internet you had that type of hell. Watching this everyday after school for a week.
Yes "30 year old looking teenager" XD They should cast somone who looks young. At least the actresses looked young enough. This is why Micheal Cera types are needed! (If they refuse to cast younger actors)
The movie is pretty good. From the nineties, But I actually prefer The witches of Eastwick. I love the dark humour , plus the fantastic Jack Nicholson 😁
I watched this movie YEARS ago and , " Yup " ... your take is AGAIN FABULOUS ! You're take is just as mine was ( not that my opinion matters but ... ) I just love your work ! " Why bother to watch a weird film ? Just watch your review and , " Bob's Your Uncle " ! " I wouldn't waste my time ! ;;;))))
And you said , " Toodles ! " You are a STAR ! P.S. Just add the " Poodles " part onto " Toodles " ( " Toodles and poodles ! " ) & you'll have won my heart forever ! ::))) ::))) ;)))
This movie actually kind of fucked with me as a kid. The last half was really intense for a 7 year old, and this was my first foyer into horror movies. However, this movie is 90% of my taste in girls to this day. A little dark, a little damaged, but incredibly beautiful. Specifically, Fairuza Balk was my #1 celebrity crush of the 90s. Between this movie and Water Boy, let's just say that I watched the VHSs numerous times as a teenager.
This movie never grew on me like it should have? I like a lot of cheesy but still decent or even ‘not great but cult following’ type of supernatural movies/shows but I just never liked it. Wanted to. I just remember *hating* nearly every character from the beginning, except Sarah but still found her meh. I should rewatch it. Ever watch The Covenant? It’s one of those trashy (meaning not good but the potential was there) but still kinda interesting/entertaining teen supernatural movies.
I re watched this two weeks ago and still don’t care for it. I feel like it would have been better for a mini series or limited series. Which I guess Charmed? I personally don’t see a huge connection between the two other than witchcraft. And the song. Who knows the way Hollywood love reboots this will probably end up as something. I hear rumors for this to be a rebooted movie but heard them for years and never seen anything more about it. (Like casting, location, etc)
Atomic scissor joke with a follow imagine of the child actor who grew up to be a nropstar. Old video I know but if I haven't heard the jokes yet its still new to me.
The nun (at 05:30) looks like a young Angela Merkin and Nancy isn’t irritated by Sarah’s binding spell attempt (09:56) - it’s a normal teenage girl’s reaction to that time of the month... Damnit! I must stop commenting before I’ve watched the vid all the way through (06:55).
The Craft ruined my childhood, and up sales at the New Age section of Waldenbooks. Suddenly all the hot chicks were all goofy witches, and acting like they were one day going to get sharks as gifts on a beach even though we live in a land locked state!
Wait is that the beach where they also filmed scooby doo curse of the lake monster I think that’s what it called but it’s the one with the frog monsters 🤣
There's no such thing as underage drinking in the EU. Here people starts drinking at the age of 10-11. Are they turning into monsters or something like that? You could ask Adolf or Jack about that, but most of us are just regular guys.
"Fairuza can go from zero to eleven in a crazy amount of time." Agreed, which is why, other than maybe a "Girl, you crazy!" reason, I don't get why some people think her performance and character are so memorable. Anyone can scream all their lines and act like an obviously-evil antagonist. You know which character needs more fan love? Lirio, the shopkeeper of the occult store. She seemed much more interesting, and she represented what witchcraft is supposed to be, a practice treated with care and respect.
Fun fact that can be found instataneously if you Google search this title. They are in past the casting portion and probably undergoing rehearsal of the reboot of this flick. From what I've seen of the cast, it looks not so much mirrored towards the generation it is evoking, yet another attempting at claiming currency by overly modernizing a plot that remains true to its epoch, with a part of social justice warriorism incorporated into it. I'm faithful to my interests so I may actually go to the local cinema and view the remodeling project, I mean high school play that looks more Disney Channel Priestess like than 4 outsider teenage girls coming into maturity and learning the paths of nature whilst ending up blinding wavering on the left hand path as they seek to channel their powers into matters conflicting. Enough though of reviewing the debut news of a projected film with no launch date associated. Also enough run on sentences. What this title truly needs is a sequel, a reason to return back to the Catholic School, Lirio's Mystism Shoppe, the bus to Forest deep with California, a resummoning of the Invocation found on the beach and in the hidden peril of Sarah. Then have the original cast of 4 femme fatales return in their current age. Perhaps with family life and careers that are cause of their joy or sorrows. Then a reaquaintancing of them, and perhaps even a unexpected turn in character of somebody, making the protagonist antagonist. Thus awakening the saviour in the fallen to aid them back to who they once were. Just a thought though. Liked the review, love the comedy infusions. Appreciate those that appreciate this, thank you for your attentions.
Don’t mind me, just bingeing your channel

Holy shit. That scene where u overdubbed Ralphie swearing from Xmas Story was PERFECT!
Sooo goood
Your reviews are great I can't believe you don't have more subscribers

I Love The Craft it's too nostalgic, I grew up watching this movie
Charmed actually ripped off The craft, it came out nearly two year earlier.
Charmed sucked The Craft rules
Years*
The only common thing with both properties is they were about witches and that Charmed's theme song was in the craft. The theme song was the reason why that rumor went around but if you replaced the theme song there is very few things similar about the shows

Charmed and The Craft are both great.
They're totally different. Why compare?
"That skeleton is gettin' sassy."

Cool. Now I really feel like watching Hocus Pocus all of the sudden.
RaedFrost - one of th beat Halloween and witch movies ever made IMO. Th jokes still hold up and it's still such an entertaining movie. Even after twenty years and now that I'm an adult I still try to watch it every Halloween. LoL
I laughed out loud during the Hanna Barbera running music when they ran off.
Popeye the sailor man? 😎
His review reminds me of the old nostalgia critic reviews

Heathers + Hocus Pocus... yeah. That checks out.
the truth, this movie is one of my guilty taste, I enjoyed it a lot when I was younger.
I love this movie, I watched it religiously for years. I love that it touches all the important topics so many teens face on daily basis. Thank you for the review, Tom.

5:27 it's the random moments from you that crack me up "that skeleton's getting sassyyyyyy" LMAOOOOO
Eddie Haskell? An Eddie Haskell joke? The people that are old enough to remember Eddie Haskell don't remember anything at all anymore.
That was a treat for those who do remember
I really love your channel. I hope you gain more subs because you deserve it.
I love the craft. Still one of my favs
The pop eye Muir’s was my favourite bit. Lol 😂Great review as always Tom 👍
is anyone else addicted to watching his videos?
I absolutely adore that movie!
"Absolute power does not corrupt absolutely, absolute power attracts the corruptible." - Frank Herbert
This movie did have the coolest soundtrack when it came out.
I love his sarcastic tone.
My ten year old sisters watched this movie over and over. When there was one tv in the house and no internet you had that type of hell. Watching this everyday after school for a week.
7:17 - - This is what happens when a Sharknado ends.
Yes "30 year old looking teenager" XD
They should cast somone who looks young.

You REALY need To do Hansel and Gretle: Witch hunters with Jeremy renner pretty campy but still AWESOME.
I feel that this movie inspired some of the characters made for the Clive Barker / MacFarland toy series infernal parade.
Man i love you nohomo thou
Best review😂

This movie really needs a sequel

That's a perfect description of the movie part "Heather's" part "Hocus Pocus",
Lmao! “Tada”!!!
Cool review of a great movie.
The 3rd act is about losing your identity to the group and having to rebel to gain it back.
That 100th problem joke. 10/10
I have a guilty crush on Fairuza Balk.
Did he just say Gymkata ? Lol.
GYMCATA!!! i died lol
Jugheads Father from Riverdales is in this one
nikolaj møller-I prefer to know him as Billy from Scream 😒😒
Before my time, now I’m on time with the new bee.

We used to sell them at home depot
The going bald thing was because she made a racist comment on Rochelle's hair
Who else thought it was Alicia Silverstone from Clueless and not not Robin Tunney from Vertical Limit?
Me, but something about her made me look it up, then I felt stupid.

Possibly. Believe that's a popular location. I think the usual suspects shoot a scene there, too.
7:48 that's not how mirrors work.
I liked Nancy. Needed her on my side! *evil giggle* Come over to the voodoo side Nancy.
Trinston was here
#wiccan, that was hilarious! XD

Or Magic is bad news especially in the wrong hands.
