I purchased the Micron Arbor Seater a few months back and definitely pleased with the quality. Shooting 6 Dasher and avg 0.001 run out
(not that concentricity affects down range performance to that degree) but was avg 0.003 with my other high end arbor seater. Bullet seating depth is consistently the exact measurement every time keeping my SD

Really loving the new recording space! You're really stepping up your game, keep it up!
Man, I'm really wishing they would make these arbor dies for larger cartridges (larger than 338 LM). They seem really well made and thought out. I'm loading around 40-50 cartridges for my business, and the SAC Infinity APS has been perfect for what I've needed, but there's still quite a few that I can't currently load for since they're too big for the Infinity.

Hey there, love the presentation room you're in.
FYI, a micron (1 µm) is a thousandth of a mm, not a ten-thousandth of a mm (that would be 0,1 µm).
1 µm is roughly 0.4 ten-thousanth of an inch (0,0000393")

I buy alot of stuff from bullet central and im very happy with them! I looked at their dies but ended up with sac dies, mainly becasue of the multi caliber and the the name. Im in the process of switching brands on the rest of my dies, so maybe ill give these a try next.

If concentricity is not such a big factor in the end then all it comes down to is portability of the press to matches and range. Thats where Arbor shines then. And Lee handheld model. 😉

Thanks for the video, John! Sorry if I missed it, but will you be using these Micron seaters regularly? I just looked at the “What I Use” page on your website and still see the SAC seater in there, so just curious if these will make the list or not. I’m wanting to upgrade all my dies and have been considering going with Micron.

Great video and presentation. It would be nice the die manufactures would marking on micrometers a bit larger.

To my mind the sizing die is good because of the bushing chamber alignment that may better. But their chamber seating die is too tight, on these dies a bit of play is always necessary. My bud bought one, last time he had some cases stuck in it when reloading during a competition...

Hi John, curious would one benefit from using high end dies, when using a rockchucker or hornady iron press. Or would the slop of the press negate the benefits of better high end dies.

Recently purchased Micron threaded Seater and Full length bushing dies. They are smooth for sure! However, I am never able to preserve a precise setting (both case headspace and bullet seating) when removing them from my single stage (RCBS) press when relying on the split rings. Unscrew the die and lose the setting. May have to go to pressure lock rings to avoid sneaking up on the setting with each change out. Or, am I missing something?
Always enjoy your information. And as for the cheat glass, it doesn’t get any better with time. 🤓

  • @stephenkrampert3430
    @stephenkrampert3430 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

Nice video John. I'm guessing the threaded die should work in a Bonanza/Forster coax press I'm considering a different press but I've had good results with the coax 52 years! not gonna split that seating stem with a compressed charge!!

G’Day John, I contacted Bullet Central in regards to their 7-6.5PRC seating die to see if it was designed for Bryan Blake’s FCP version with has the 40* AI shoulder and shortened neck or if it was usable on the 7-6.5PRCW/7PRCW such as Erik C & you are using. Luke Albin from BC technical replied that without seeing the reamer print than the answer was “probably no”… Not having the print to send along can YOU send one or confirm that their die will or will not work on the 7PRCW. Too much $ to spend on something that may not be suitable for my needs…
    Many Thanks

Hey John...Tell me about the seating stems. I have a Sinclair/Wilson and it needs one for VLD's and one for secants. Does this also need two? After seating...is there shall we say 'suction'?

My OCD level just isn't high enough to justify a die at that price, with dollar difference, and freight, it's over 400.00 in Cda. Same with the SAC stuff, what I have will do. Perhaps if I was 20 yrs old and buying first time, I'd do it and find a way to pay for it.

It may be a lovely die but anyone saying they are machineing a workshop hand tool to a micron looses credibility.
For scale, scope lens coatings can be more than a micron.
