If a movie to you is nothing but the main plot points then by all means watch the trailer and don't watch the movie. But I think real movie fans realize there is so much more to a movie than that.
“Do you need me or do you just need somebody ?” ….Great line and so true. Lloyd realises that most girls just need somebody after a break up and not necessarily the person who broke up with them
I worked on this trailer! I remember the first time I saw the dissolve the editor put in between the kisses and thinking "Wow, that really works. Better than the actual film."
they need to start showing a lot more of these 1980 movies on tv . also they need to start putting all these 1980's movies on to blu-ray discs. this movie and one carzy summer is awesome, love both movies
I lived it and loved it as a teen. Movies and culture WERE great. My reality was that of a nerdy guy, but unlike the movies the pretty ladies wouldn't give me the time of day. Social cliques were brutal. But I still look back on it fondly and wouldn't change a thing (helps having a super hot / smart / awesome spouse now, the nerds indeed won in the end!).
I turned 13 in 1981, it was just a brilliant decade... that final year at high school, college, first job, clubbing during the Acid House craze of 1988, being a mid 80s Goth, all these films, all the girls with back-combed hair and me with a wedge haircut over one eye, vinyl record shopping every Saturday... There really was just so much fun to be had. Just trying to stick to all that kind of thing has kept me young and happy all these years. Apart from the internet I'm still in 1983 haha! Anyone can do it.
I loved the last scene of the movie , where llyod asks Diane that you need me or you need someone as he wanted to confirm weather to go ahead with his self respect or not but he needed her more so then he responds it doesn't matter , damn I will forever love that scene
I just watched this movie recently, I loved it. It's way more than just a corny romance movie. There was alot going on that I didn't expect. Fantastic movie.
this is an absolute classic, and more than just its iconic scene. It really is among the most complex love stories told during the "Hughes era." there are A LOT of heavy themes going on in this flick, and is honestly still relevant to this day. It's honestly one of the greatest love stories ever told.
I've born in 1989, I wish I was born in 1979, life is so lifeless since 2010. I love 70s and 80s even though I never was alive at that time, I feel like I missed a lot of beautiful life, life isn't beautiful now.
I feel you on this, but know life is beautiful, you just have to find it. When you finally find it, hold on to it and never let go. Don't let the state of the world/country blind you.
If this movie were made today they would have given Cussack a trainer, a nutritionist and a dedicated kickboxing instructor for the two and a half minutes of the movie that you see his abs and/or he actually kickboxes.
We had a small off-yellow, beige white boombox like cassette antenna battery backing radio player with speakers device, a bit *similar in style, to the guy character had in this movie before in our family life. 😎 I don't remember the portable stereo player brand though. 😉 I also watched this film at our home. - A memorable music band's retro song played during that stereo playing scene. 😊
Wisdom - Demi Moore- Emilio Estevez Revenge- Kevin Costner About Last Night - Rob Lowe Ghost - Patrick Swayze Bull Durham - Kevin Costner Urban Cowboy- John Travolta Starman - Jeff Bridges Officer and a Gentleman- Richard Grier The Last American Virgin Romancing The Stone- Kirk Douglas Some of my Favs.
Last week I watched "1670" a satire on Polish history, which reminded me of the Ukrainian Servant of the People: If the Poles are in a bad position, it's because they have bought into a corrupt system.
Puppet Master? That's an odd #1 choice I've never heard before... I've actually never seen it. Is it good? ....Wow, nevermind. That was the stupidest question I've ever asked.
I like the kickboxing aspect but not so hot on all this "romance". Would have been much better if the girl also kickboxes, and there was no romance just fighting 2/10
There are movies...and then there are 80's movies. They are certainly in a class of their own. Some of the best ever made.
You are totally right man
70's to year 2000 movies are the best ! That's the golden age of art !
Totally agree.
modern movies are shyt.
and 70s
this isn't a trailer it's the whole damn movie. lol
So what? We've all seen it anyway.

So right! After watching this trailer, not sure I need to watch the movie 😂
Of course, The entire resean He is with Her its to help her get on The plane in The end... ;)
“Do you need me or do you just need somebody ?” ….Great line and so true. Lloyd realises that most girls just need somebody after a break up and not necessarily the person who broke up with them
Damn this dude has given so many classics. Serendipity my fav of all.
Truth! Love Serendipity, too!

The most heart warming movie there ever is!
Literally does no justice and gives away the entire plot
Well, to be fair, the part about her dad going to prison isn't in the trailer...
i wish i was a young teen in the 80's , such a cool time for movies , music , and culture , women from the 80's were beautiful

It was exactly as you think it was, or hoped it was, back in the 80's. Especially for teens. I wouldn't trade it for anything!

sucks to be Asian in the 80s though

Don’t need to see the movie now. The trailer summed it up.
One of the greatest love stories ever told.... I'm totally and completely serious.
When even a trailer makes you cry
John Cusack kinda reminds me of Miles Teller
He played a similar role in The Spectacular Now
Right
Hey same here
And Ione Skye kinda reminds me of Katherine Langford
Ade Alfarisi it’s the other way around bub, John Cusack came first, it should be, Miles Teller reminds you of John Cusack
One of the very best movies ever and a great love story too 😊❤ John Cusack is great in it one of his best movies ever
I was born in89, I am here because I been seen that boy with the stereo in so many móvies didnt knew the Source
John Cusack is a legend.
Damn I miss the 80's.
You're not the only one.
The entertainment, definitely. Reaganomics, yyyyyyyyyyyyyyNO.
Talk about giving the plot away
Yeah, but it's not like we all don't already know this movie verbatim.
On the contray, the trailer mentions nothing about tax evasion
Unbelievable actor = John Cusack.
A absolute classic! Never do I tire from this beautiful love story! If only I could find my Lloyd dopler!
There really was no future in MMA back then crazy to see how much the sport has grown since.
I guess in a way...this film truly highlighted the end of the decade.
one of my favorite films
Saw this in the 80s. Very nice movie.
i wish someone's going to be inlove with me like the way lloyd loves her hmm, just thinkin
There are more people who love you more than you know, like me for instance.
Would you settling for being respected?
I am like him. I am telling you the truth. Woman’s now are crazy. I wish I can find a woman like her

Well, then you'd be 10 years older. Saying that, Gen X was the best...things were pretty awesome back in the day and the music was amazing.
It’s been lifeless since 2000 🤷🏼♂️
Such a memorable movie.
Best film ever.
Incredible movie!! Memories ⌚
Just perfect. Not less or not more.

Do you agree that 80's romance movies were the last ?

I was Lloyd dobler in the 80’s and it took me 40 years to date Diane Court but it was worth the wait …
When romance movies were about romance. Not glorifying infidelity.

modern family anyone?
How did Alex Cusack lost his way up his careerline?
Brandon Lee auditioned for this movie. It was really a role he wanted. John Cusack should have said give this role to Brandon Lee, but he's selfish.
Are you kidding? John was perfect in this role.
I like the kickboxing aspect but not so hot on all this "romance". Would have been much better if the girl also kickboxes, and there was no romance just fighting 2/10
Boooooring chick flick
Hello beautiful, how are you doing??
Probably the most boring romantic movie I’ve seen in my whole life.
Osa F It Is a VERY overrated movie, but I think it’s the perfect movie to conclude the magic of the 1980s movies.
Wildcock23 I’ll give it that
Archiebooooooooooooo
Ione Skye, did she become anything?
Other than a cameo in an early scene in Wayne's World, not much of significance.
From memory she became better known for who she was dating not her acting.
She used to be so pretty seems like
@@dominicadominique2191 Seems like? You can obviously see she was pretty.
Christ, what an awful song. Makes it seem like the movie sucks. Fortunately, it's 2019 and we know better.
