He OWNED in Pushing Tin with Cate Blanchett. The viewer couldn't take his eyes off him. The subtle nervous competitive reactions that only John Cusack can do were everywhere. And not a mention, not just here but nowhere. It was a film that let him shine and shine he did. What is wrong with humanity.

This was the movie that sold me on John Cussack! But all my friends at the time didn't get it. Have met a few ppl since who love it too. (Hey! Also sold me on Kevin Spacey)
Being John Malkovich’s story is hilariously amazing lol. So glad he covered that, was really interested how that ever got made lol Wish this was done more often, taking chances on absurdly original ideas/scripts.
Loved him since his bit part in “Class”. Totally underrated brilliance. Thanks John for not spoiling any of your chosen films for this piece. Gonna watch “Identity” . “If I show up at your door, chances are you did something to bring me there.”
Being John Malkovich was life-altering for me. For about an hour after the movie everything seemed possible. I had absolute clarity and confidence that everything happened for a reason. It all made sense. Unfortunately that feeling abated over the following days. I most enjoy his movies that question concepts of time and destiny: Serendipity, Hot Tub Time Machine, even America's Sweethearts had some moments.
I can't believe he acknowledged Con Air. I thought I read that he refused to answer questions about it after making it because he hated the completed product.
Well, the casting director in Con Air was the same as in High Fidelity, Victoria Thomas, so maybe he realized that the movie was great for him, even if he dont like it. Fans like it, I like it :)
We miss you on screen John! You are one of the most underrated actor/producer. You films brought great joy and entertainment to a great cultural and musical time. Btw, I saw you once waiting on the corner of 6th Ave. and 57 St. in front of Duane Reade in NYC seven , eight yrs ago. You looked great! Tall and handsome in your long black wool coat. Glad to have stumble upon site. Take great care. Stay safe.
One of my favorite actors because he has such depth, he can do any role. You fall in love with him and serendipity and then you love the music and question your relationships when you watch high fidelity to being scared s******* in one of his action movies or like Utopia where he just plays these evil geniuses. Never a bad performance.
Would have loved an acknowledgement of Better Off Dead, One Crazy Summer, Hot Pursuit, The Sure Thing, Say Anything. None of them are "great" movies critically or artistically, but he was what made each of them special. I know the two he made with Steve Holland are a contentious subject with him, but both are rather dark-humored under their wacky, zany top layers. Arguably launched his whole career with them. Oh, well.

No “Better off Dead?” And even weirder, no “Say Anything?” Lloyd Dobbler had one of the best quotes in movie history: “I don't want to sell anything, buy anything, or process anything as a career. Best John Cusack movie ever hands down, Grace is Gone. He should have received an Oscar for that one. It was so real and so nuanced and relatable and he was beautiful.

Grosse Point Blank is so goddam good. Well written, great soundtrack, great cast.
I love Grosse Point Blank so much. Haven’t seen it in years. Must rewatch. I also really loved him in Stand By Me.
@@kayelle8005 I've seen most of his movies, but NOT that!
I've heard of it, but, have no idea what it's about and / or why I never bothered to watch it!!!
@@Melinda8162 he has a small role but he is excellent in it. Stand by me is a lovely film. I hope you get a chance to see it. Will Wheaton and River Phoenix and Jerry are the young stars.
He was a regular on the Epstein flights.
The Sure Thing?
Say Anything??
Better Off Dead???
One Crazy Summer????
His small but important role in Stand By Me????????????
Left wing crybaby?
@@loisplane ew politics gross. right wing? left wing? I'd rather kill the eagle.
i was just watching Pushing Tin yesterday and thinking to myself how he's one of my favorite actors and perhaps the most UNDERRATED actor in Hollywood. Max was an incredible film. High Fidelity is a true CLASSIC.
TheWanderer I was just in an “antique” shop yesterday and they had a copy of Pushing Tin....on VHS
I love that they started with Gross Pointe Blank!! It's one of my most favorite movies and the chemistry between Cusack and Driver is amazing.
Hello there how are you,I don't usually chat with fans here. I'm taking this time out to say thank you for your love and support always 🌹🌹
Grosse Pointe Blank is one of my favorites ever.
Midnight in the garden of good and evil would’ve been interesting to hear about
totally
Yes!
This was the movie that sold me on John Cussack! But all my friends at the time didn't get it. Have met a few ppl since who love it too.
(Hey! Also sold me on Kevin Spacey)
Loved that movie!!
Yesss
This was interesting. He is one of my favorite actors. I feel like he's been a part of my life since Class back in 1983 when I was in 10th grade.
It gives me so much pleasure that the video starts with an appreciation for Grosse Point Blank, one of my favorite movies ever.
Not gonna lie never seen it untill bf recommend it and i fell in love with the movie .......
That's a cryin' shame, when people go throwin away a perfectly good white boy like that.
Grifters is one gut punch of a movie...not a missed beat anywhere. The great Jim Thompson
In my personal top ten, and the opening credits with that Elmer Berstein score, pure noir heaven!
Amazing film!'.Angelica was incredible also. John Cusack made some great choices.
I admire John and his sister so much, amazing choices, iconic film and tv roles plus they seem really kind and decent. Wish them well.
I can watch gross point blank over and over and never tire of it. They don't make good movies anymore. Such a good actor
Being John Malkovich’s story is hilariously amazing lol.
So glad he covered that, was really interested how that ever got made lol
Wish this was done more often, taking chances on absurdly original ideas/scripts.
He brings such thoughtfulness to everything he does. Love it!
What happened with Say Anything, Pushing Tin & Seredenpity... Miss those films. John deserves a second episode
Edwin, nice with Pushing Tin...a fun watch.
Edwin Pacheco definitely Pushing Tin!!! Next to his 80’s films, that’s my favorite!!
Pushing Tin...he was awesome! And a great cast!
Best actor of his generation , imho.
John Cusack, what more needs to be said. One of the greats of our generation. There's not one film he has been in where he sucked.
I don't think he sucked in 2012, but the movie kinda did😂
He is on that list, BTW, so, reconsider what you think of him.
Does anyone remember him in Better off Dead? Best movie ever
TWO DOLLARS! I WANT MY TWO DOLLARS!!!!
@@julieharden2433 "didn't ask for a dime"
“Layne Meyer”
One of my all time favourite actors 🙌🙌 Say Anything, Serendipity, Runaway Jury...
Loved him since his bit part in “Class”. Totally underrated brilliance. Thanks John for not spoiling any of your chosen films for this piece. Gonna watch “Identity” . “If I show up at your door, chances are you did something to bring me there.”
I loved Identity!
@A7lways A HURRICANE troll.
I can't believe he acknowledged Con Air. I thought I read that he refused to answer questions about it after making it because he hated the completed product.
I think that’s Better off Dead, but he did do Con Air as a favor to the director, I believe.
I like con air
@@simonwells733 lots of fun
Well, the casting director in Con Air was the same as in High Fidelity, Victoria Thomas, so maybe he realized that the movie was great for him, even if he dont like it. Fans like it, I like it :)
He played a good role in that one.
Hello there how are you,I don't usually chat with fans here. I'm taking this time out to say thank you for your love and support always 🌹🌹
Thanks for your cute comment. really appreciate your support over the years.
This guy has such expressive eyes, he looks so kind and they make him like the guy you really want as a best friend.
"I WANT MY TWO DOLLARS!"
I love John Cusack, he's a very interesting actor! Grosse Pointe Blank is one of my favorites, shame he didn't talk about Max though!
Grosse Pointe Blank is the perfect kind of weird
Great music and Miss Driver is as quick witted as anybody.
I LOVE he and his sister! To find out he wrote and produced so much just makes him more awesome!
Oh, well.
Grosse Pointe Blank is one of my favourite films.
Love and Mercy is one of my favourite films
High Fidelity is one of my favourite films.
Being John Malkovich is one of my favourite films.
Eight Men Out is in the TOP FIVE favourite my films
Him in America's Sweethearts! The whole cast was just perfect in it. Hank Azaria and Alan Arkin? Yes, please!
True
Love him but 🤮🤮🤮 That film was terrible!
"Water & Steel" is a stunningly beautiful way to describe Brian Wilson. There's a song there. 🎹
I didn’t know he wrote Grosse Point Blank (sp?)! I loved that movie before, and i respect him as a creator even more now.
He's my most underrated actor of all time
I love him so much. He has my heart!! Then and even now, I love his outspokenness
Love you fan, thanks for your wonderful support and encouragement towards me I really appreciate it, feel free to drop a message on Skype I will be glad to receive you. John cusack
Grosse Point Blank was one of my heavily rewatched VHS tapes.
I bought the DVD too but I don't want to part with the video.
@@sorscha1308 Sadly I had to part ways with my VHS collection when I moved to another country, but I also have it on DVD.
Ditto
I absolutely love 1408. I never really hear anyone talk about it. Unless I’m just out of the loop but yea, fantastic movie that deserves all the credit
He is so underrated.. absolutely love him

Yes- love Serendipity & Midnight inGarden of Good & Evil!
The Grifters! 🤘🏽🎥
I loved 'America's Sweethearts'!!! Some really funny parts, and, he was handsome as heck then! 😄. Just a fun movie! Great cast too!
Midnight in the Garden .... not seen that movie in years .... thank you for the reminder to dig it out xx
This is one of the best of these interviews I've seen.
I always loved John - did not know how involved he'd been in several projects, though - let alone how informed and intelligent he is.
Have to say, however - I ADORE Joan. Her performance in the second Addams Family film is one of my favourite comedic performances ever. :-)
@A7lways A HURRICANE NO - YOU
@A7lways A HURRICANE nah I'm good thanks
@A7lways A HURRICANE far-right falsehoods? Really? Which have to do with this video... how?
Stay comfy in your bubble, champ. It can't last forever
He was a regular on the Epstein flights.
Fell in love with Cusak when I saw "say anything" n his sister in "grosse point blank"
John Cusack is turning into Michael Madsen.
LOL
In his role options as well, sadly
There are some angles where he looks related to Tom Hanks
I see an older Joseph gordon levitt.
I see Data in Star Trek!
High Fidelity is my favorite movie of his. It's so relatable to me as a music lover and never being able to get over my past relationships and always ranking everything. It's like the movie was made for me.
I 'm a huge fan of his films especially High Fidelity, Grosse Pointe Blank and Better Off Dead. I think Runaway Jury is also another fantastic film of his that wasn't named.
LiesThatBind oh yeah runaway jury was great, what a cast, and so well paced.
glad i am not the only one who wished Runaway Jury was there
I've missed John Cusack!!!! It's great to see him!!

Love love love love John Cusack the best of the best he should have won an Academy award for all he's done very very hard worker after love him so much never reconsider a good as an actor he should be recognized as one of the best PERIOD
Love you fan, thanks for your wonderful support and encouragement towards me I really appreciate it, feel free to drop a message on Skype I will be glad to receive you. (Cusackj718@gmail.com)
John Cusack is such a great, underrated actor. I'm surprised he didn't talk about two of my favorite films of his: "Say Anything" (1988) and "Runaway Jury" (2003). He did such an amazing job in both of those films. 😎👍🎉🎊🎥🎞️🎬🎭🎫
"You wanna get the script pregnant and not fully done and then just sort of let the actor's finish it."
John Cusack - 2020
I wish he had spoken about Grace is Gone. That is, hands down, my favorite of his performances.
God I miss him. I just made my gf watch Americas Sweethearts the other day and it's just as good as it was years ago. He and Billy Crystal could have carried that whole movie.
I'm surprised that he has never been nominated for an Academy Award
For which performance do you think he should be get a nod? i think he deserved it in Being John Malkovich.
@@jackprescott9652 Love and Mercy
Is it me or is looking more and more like Data?
His make up and lighting suck! Lol
I think its cgi its not real, look at his t shirt against his neck not natural.I think he was executed for crimes against humanity.
Looks a little like Robert Loggia
I mean I cannot never not hear Dimitri when I hear his voice...so iconic roles are both a blessing and a curse.
I am absolutely shocked that Say Anything is not on this list! I am also absolutely shocked that Runaway Jury is not on this list! How about Serendipity, The Ice Harvest, America's Sweethearts, or god forbid Maps to the Stars!?!?!?
No mention of The Ice Harvest. Big fan. Great cast.
I loved the dialogue in Gross Point Blank, it was so different than the typical rote Hollywood dialogue.
A little gem of a (Cusack) movie: Martian Child. You can thank me later.
I love Martian Child. A brilliantly, quirky, wonderful movie.
As others have said, I don't know how he doesn't talk about Say Anything, The Sure Thing and Better Off Dead. Those are 3 of his most memorable roles.
No “Better off Dead?” And even weirder, no “Say Anything?” Lloyd Dobbler had one of the best quotes in movie history: “I don't want to sell anything, buy anything, or process anything as a career. I don't want to sell anything bought or processed, or buy anything sold or processed, or process anything sold, bought, or processed, or repair anything sold, bought, or processed.”
Best John Cusack movie ever hands down, Grace is Gone. He should have received an Oscar for that one. It was so real and so nuanced and relatable and he was beautiful.
I remember watching a Blackhawks game on TV. When they panned the crowd there was Cusack, drinking a beer and being rowdy like he was just one of the guys.
Grosse Point Blank is one of the most iconic movies ever. My absolute favorite John Cusack movie as well as Con Air. Another underappreciated actor.
I too wished John could have discussed Midnight In The Garden Of Good & Evil. I own this excellent DVD. How did John like voice acting (playing Dimitri in Anastasia)? I also own this DVD.
