Shoutout to Warby Parker for having the most amazing glasses to choose from! 10/10 experience, and it was unbelievably easy to find a pair that works for me.

Hello😇! I've never had or needed glasses😳👁👁☺, and my lovely wife got her first glasses in June. She looks super-cute with them!💙🤎I'm so glad she didn't want contacts, like her optometrist for some weird reason suggested. I'm very thankful for my super-good eyesight😍, but, don't feel bad about having glasses. I think women look BETTER with them!

So if I followed you correctly you apparently only recently went for an eye exam and you found out you do have a need for glasses or contacts in your prescription. You opted for contacts rather than glasses. As a retired optician I have to tell you that was a mistake. Since this was going to be your first time wearing prescription lenses I would have to assume that the prescription you need is most likely a very weak prescription. Most doctors don't recommend any patient to start out with contacts. They generally prefer for you to wear glasses first to allow your eyes to adjust to the prescription. As it turned the contacts didn't work well you due to allergies anyway. So you then ordered glasses from Warby Parker and I'm assuming on-line because being your first glasses you had no idea what size would fit you best. I totally understand. Lucky for you that Warby Parker is one the few that offers on-line glasses as well as several actual stores. I noticed as soon as you put your glasses on that they were much to big for your face size. So you were able to exchange them for the same frame in a smaller size. That smaller frame is perfect on you. Now I couldn't really tell if what your glasses are for. The most common need for glasses is nearsightedness, but you did mention something about wearing them at work which then could mean your farsighted and need glasses for close work. Squinting when at work could be either one. But squinting does mean you need glasses for something for sure. I'm glad you were able to exchange that and the new glasses are much better fit.
When you get your new glasses the first thing you should do is don't worry about that day. But the next morning as soon as you get out of bed put your glasses and wear the if possible until your back home and bout to go to bed. Do that a couple more days and your eyes should be fully adjusted to your glasses. If you have any questions about your glasses or your eyes please feel free to ask me.

@@jessicawhelpley Thank you for your reply. You had started out planning on wearing contacts which as you know are normally put on first thing in the morning and not removed until nearly bedtime. Which would be considered as fulltime wear. Now that your getting glasses instead are you planning on wearing them fulltime when you get them? When you got your eyes examined what was your man need for glasses? I mean were you having issues seeing things at a distance or close up or both? So should I be expecting to see you wearing glasses in your future videos? Keep this in mind, you can never wear your glasses too much, but you can not wear them enough.

@@soundmanpt I plan to wear them full time yes and I just got them in! First day wearing them

@@jessicawhelpley I'm glad you got them. So your planning on wearing your glasses fulltime and that's really better than constantly putting then on and taking them off. By getting them now your going to have an extended weekend to start getting used to wearing glasses and for your eyes to start adjusting to seeing through prescription lenses for the first time. Don't be surprised by how often your going to be taking your glasses off to clean them. At first your going to see every tiny smudge and piece of dust on your lenses. The first couple of days your going to be doing a lot of comparing how things look with your glasses and how they look without glasses. Of course in every case it's going to be better with glasses than without. Also when you take your glasses off tonight before getting into bed don't be surprised that things are going to be a little more blurry than before you got your glasses. That's perfectly normal and it only means that your eyes are in fact adjusting to your glasses. Until you got your glasses your eyes have been using something known as "accommodation" to see things. Now your glasses will take the place of that accommodation and things are going to blurry now whenever you take your glasses off. By the time you go back to work on Tuesday if you wear your glasses all weekend you should be well on your way to getting used to your glasses and they should be feeling nice and comfortable on you as well. If they should feel too tight or too loose you need to go and get them adjusted ASAP because if your planning on wearing them fulltime they need to be completely comfortable. Something your going to be wanting as well as needing in the very near future will be a pair of prescription sunglasses. Once your eyes adjust to your glasses which since I'm sure your prescription is likely on the weak side so your eyes should be pretty well adjusted to your glasses within a couple days. You won't be able to switch from your glasses to non-prescription sunglasses. So you will have to deal with the sun by wearing your glasses. You should also consider getting a backup pair of glasses in case your glasses were to get broke or get lost so you won't be without glasses waiting for new ones to be made. Warby Parker is a very good source for glasses and at fair price as well. But I'm assuming your glasses probably cost you somewhere around $125.00 plus or minus. But there are a number of really good glasses sites where you can get a pair of sunglasses in your prescription as well as a second pair of glasses for between $20.00 to $30.00 each. I can help you with that when your ready. I'm looking forward to seeing your next video with you wearing your glasses and how it feels to be wearing glasses for the first time. Even with what is most likely a weak prescription I think your going to to be surprised by how much difference there goin to make. The glasses you ended up getting after returning that first pair I really like on you. I'm sure your going to get lots of complements on them and how nice they look on you. Have you told everyone you know that your getting glasses or are they going to be surprised when they see you wearing glasses for the first time? If you have any questions at all about your glasses or your eyes I urge you to ask me. I'm sure I can answer any question you might have..

Your glasses are too big, you should return them for a smaller pair.
