*This is the fanciest optometrist I've ever seen.* I still go in, wait for an hour, read some tiny letters that are projected onto a wall, and walk out with or without a new prescription for eyeglasses. That's it. I also have to wait 2-3 weeks for my new glasses LOL

At a normal optometrist are they able to tell you if you need glasses for at night?
Actinium Lizard I go through all of that plus eyedrops at mine. Like the ones that dilate your pupils for super long. I think they're a sort of muscle relaxer.
amberhitchcock Yes they would. Typically you probably need them (glasses) at all times of day where you're actively doing something, but they would be able to.
Actinium Lizard Well, I mean, they do live in/work around the rich people neighborhoods, so of course they'd have the latest tech.

I get mine at most a week later
It depends. If you go to a place that has a lab there and the frames/lenses on stock they can do them in a matter of hours :)
Katie Roy mine has to have another place do the lenses so it takes a while
That's cause at those places you pay like 200 dollars more. Lens crafters is one of them. I buy mine online from Zenni now and I usually have them in around 2 weeks.

When I was younger I thought glasses looked amazing and I wanted them. But once I got them myself I hated them. IS anyone like me who wanted them but now hate them?

Same. Which is why it was super difficult to find contacts that fit right. I eventually gave up and just wear my glasses now.
I have astigmatism, am close to legally blind, and I’m close to having glaucoma /:
Me too, though my astigmatism is full orientation in the left eye and only partial in the right. Whereas my right eye is near sighted and my left eye isn't really.

Also, they didn’t do the puff of air from hell during her exam. If we’re moving to eye technology that eliminates that, I am ALL ABOUT IT. The last time I went to get my eyes checked, I had to do that puff of air about a 15 times bc i would flinch, and close my eyes so I couldn’t get it. Pure torture.

Started wearing glasses in third grade and got contacts in fifth. Now I’m a college graduate. Still love my contacts! They can take a while to get used to but they’ve gotten better even since I have started using them. Can’t imagine not having contacts

I can’t get over the quick turn around on how fast they make the lenses!! I have glasses with quite thick lenses and it takes 2-3 weeks for my glasses to be made! I am vision impaired with complicated eye conditions. But to pick a pair of frames and have lenses made in one day is amazing! Good luck with the glasses Lilly!!

Hands down the nicest optometrist I've ever seen. I have to wait half an hour to go in, read all the little letters, get a blinding light shined into my eyes for five minutes straight, pick from about one tenth of the frame options Lily had, then wait two weeks to get my glasses. On top of that, I'm so near-sighted that I can't even read the board at school without glasses.

I saw those three roller signs and was shook. But for the ease of the exam and sleep of when the glasses get done, it honestly seems worth it.
Honestly when I heard how well she sees without glasses I felt this was all pointless. When I first started wearing glasses I was already in the 20/80 range lmao. But those machines were pretty cool. I want my optometrist to get those haha

OMG I just had the best idea , its probabaly not the best but ...... who else wants them to do current school tests and film them and see how they do , im from England so we have exams at the end of primary school , secondary school and uni .

i fuckin HATE glasses, they’re sooooo annoy
Lily’s reaction to all the testes made me laugh because I’ve been getting the majority of those tests done every six months since I was 4 years old and I’m now 21! I hate the picking frames part of getting my glasses because I’m extremely indecisive and can never make my mind up and because of the prescription that I have to have I can only have a certain type of frame. That also was a very quick turn around because I like literally have to wait like 2 weeks for my glasses to come back because they have to be sent to 2 different factories one to make and thin the lenses ( because they are extremely thick because of the strength of the prescription) and then a second to actually fit the lenses !!!!!!

I remember I was so self-conscious about wearing glasses that I would carry them in my bookbag and only wear them when I needed to see the board then take them off again right after. Now I'm a senior in high school and I am more comfortable wearing them all the time and don't care what others think!!
