In many ways, Pahud is the standard. He takes this very happy movement about as fast as it should go, with complete clarity at every moment. Nice close ups of his embouchure, which is instructive and revealing.
OH WOW!! So clean, crisp and musical. Not an easy piece. Compositions performed at such an amazing brilliancy proves the importance of etudes and technical exercises. When I learned and performed this piece I was so happy to have put in the work.
Just read some comments...hmm...instead of arguing about who's best why not enjoy the music, or go find another video? What a privelage to be able to enjoy such wonderful performances of such excellent music at the touch of a button! Thanks for the post! BRAVO!!
I'm working at nail salon. after work I listen your music everyday.
I don't know about the classic but Emmanuel Pahud's music makes me classic lady.
thanks. I want to give you nails done and hands massage. for free!!
I am not as good as Pahud.........but I do play.......will you do my nails for a discount.....LOL>>>>>>

Pahud is my favorite. Unbelievable...
Pahud´s tone is more fluty than Galway. I like Pahud´s sound better. Beautifull
I watch both of them on youtube and take different tips from both. I never try to sound/play more like one than the other because there are things to learn from both
YESSSSS!! ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT. THANK YOU Emmanuel.
This rendition continues to inspire and teach me every day. The video is helpful in studying his technique. Beautifully done!
Absolutely amazing ❤
Even better than the music is the cinematography! Brilliant!
I love it. The wind is driving the notes a long!..
Emmanuel, i love the way you play flute!!
Such a great flutist!!
Magnifique et sublime vidéo, filmé avec originalité, merci !!!!!
I laughed at the camera zoom into his flute 2:14 hahaha
LOL..........never have seen that before.
Foto Favoloso ikr😂😂
What to say, but AWESOME!!!! and INCREDIBLE!!! want to play just like him , so inspiring
I like the shot up the barrel of his flute. That was pretty cool. Don't see that every day!
Is there any way I can put this permanently on loop? reopening the page every three minutes to click replay is annoying, I want to listen to it all day!
1:38 that's how we called detail and clear.
Incredible! too good to say anything :)
Vive Pahud !
He is so, so, SO amazing!!!!! Wish that I could get a lesson from him
This awesome. The camera work cracks me up just a little though, haha. Thanks for posting!
amazing performmance!
Perfection =))
Its music!
Me encanta!
My frend, you flute very good!!! Good!!
increible !!!
1 dislike!? There shouldn't be ANY! we all love Pahud not just like.:)
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏 mui belo
This guy could even make a Bundy flute sing.
Confused,
There is a Louisiana in Denmark?
I learn something new every day...
Louisiana is a modern art museeum in Denmark
lindo video
Thanks for your reply. I agree. I like Pahud better than Galway. IMO, Galway is all about "commerciality". The more money he makes, the better. Pahud plays because of his love for the flute.
hmmmmm.........you display a complete lack of understanding.........all soloists that tour are making a living........if they sell tickets......both Galway and Pahud can sell out any venue.........more power to them.
@4gnostic Yes, in fact I think that is his first recording, and i wasn´t from EMI classics, it was an independent recording company, Musiques Suisses I think.
Hermoso sonido y técnica.
C.P.E. Bach | Allegro from Sonata in A minor
Love it! But Juliet Hurel is still my favorite. They sound great together also (Emmanuel and Juliet!)
@flutemagician Oh, i also thought that. But this recording is very old, isn't it? He was 22 then, if i'm not mistaken.
yes it was
@peterkussell I think the point was, that it sounds exactly like on an old recording of his. I can't 100% confirm that, because i lost this recording. But i also thought so like flutemagician.
(But i can 100% confirm that with the lensky video! I have this recording.)
أسد أسد
It's infortunately due to the copyright of the sound track.
I don't think Pahud is another James Galway, nor is he "that commercial". In fact, for every CD that Pahud has performed ---- Galway has performed 100 more. My opinion.
I have never understood why being "commercial" is bad. This man has worked his fingers to the bone to become this fantastic. As has Mr Galway and many other musicians. Why should they NOT be rewarded and compensated for the joy they bring us? The Bible says "a worker is due his wages"
As far as I know he plays on a Brannen flute with a Dana Sheridan head joint.
Galway is all there Daddies!! His unique tone and sound is instantly recognisable. I do like Pahud but I think young Bouraikov is taking over from both.
I agree.......I have never been more impressed with a young player than I have been with Bouriakov........Choi gets all the attention, but David.........has the chops.
Galways unique sound makes him recognizable right away even without knowing who's playing. Can't say the same about Pahud, not to negate Hi's a great musician of course. (Just IMO)
he's a good player, but there are very few Musicians!
I must disagree with you. Of you hear a thin, hallo tone with disgusting vibrato, you right away know, that this is from Galway...
However if you hear a nice rich tone, with good sense of style it will be Pahud. There is no one who can play like Pahud.
Cameraman was inspired
I agree. I prefer Pahud all-round...but he has only a fault I can't really cope with: he has no FF dinamics. Even when he tries to play F, he just can't. For that, I prefer artists with a tone less "polishes" but more aggressive...Galway, Formisano, Bouriakov and so on... Still: listenind Pahud playing is a joy.
you listen to formisano too!? me too! he doesn't get brought up very often since he doesn't come over to the U.S., looove the way he plays music :)
Jajaja, I completely love this guy, but here he´s doing playback, he's not actaully playing, the audio is from the cd "Flutemusic", jajaja good video edition
@flutemagician You're totally wrong on that point....any flutist can tell from his embouchure that he's playing. It isn't perfectly synched. Perhaps that's your issue...
Yikes!
Trop rapide... à mon humble goût.
What do you think? What does Allegro mean?
Wonderful flutist. But is he another James Galway?
Modern flutes play themselves, so where's the music?
James Gregory wtf are you talking about?
He must have an ear infection.............it's been going around..........lol
Too Fast not musical enough too fast.
allegro means fast
This comment reminds me of the line that the king says to Mozart in the movie............he says there were just too many notes..........hmmmm...........gotta keep in mind the that that those who can, play......those who cant become critics.
What a of crab nonsense!!. Why dont you talk about music instead?
