I remember,I met with him when I was 12, I couldn't speak English or French because I was still learning. And I remember he saw my flute case and he said: Oh flute! Great! (a word like that) And then he tried to talk with me. But we couldn't talk a lot.He really tried. And then I felt like ''I should say something!!'' And then I said ''J't aime'' And he laughed!! İt was so much fun. When I go to a concert and talk with BerlinPhil musicians (rarely) I tell them this.I mean I say : I met with him but we couldn't talk My English was so bad. And then They say: Or Then Speak French!! (They are joking) And I say: I already spoke! I said J't aime Ahaha Everyone laughs to that I can't understand ahahah I think because of that I am fifteen Lol whatever İf I see him again I will say that again.I will always say that..
I love the way he plays !!! Each time I listen to him, it gives me hope for the future, I say to myself "look how you should play! There's a lot of work!" and then I return in front of my partitions and I play my flute hardly. He is... like a spiritual master for me.
+Ingrid Emmariza It's called embouchure. It's almost impossible to smile an actual smile while playing the flute (I know because I've tried). With a proper embouchure it will look like you're smiling, though.
Yes, I know, I play the flute myself ;) People say to me that sometimes, when I get really into the music I play, it looks like I have a little smile on my face - but if something makes me laugh and I actually start smiling, then there's almost no chance to make a sound x)
I am 14 years old and I'll be 15 on 23th May. My goal is playing this concerto before 16.I think Emmanuel Pahud played his first concerto when he was 15.I still have time for that.I hope I can play :)
If Mozart wasn't the greatest musical genius of all time then I have no idea who was! Mozart possessed one of the most sublime minds in human history- the musical equiavalent of Plato and Aristotle; Newton and Einstein; Michelangelo and Raphael; etc. We have to thank the heavens for Wolfie.
One of the best things of living in Berlin is being able to hear brilliant musicians like him or Albrecht Mayer on a regular basis. I grew up with a Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra subscription 😊. I feel blessed
There is not a shadow of doubt that he is excellent and incomparable.--- From where are you watching this video ?
Is it really a LaFin headjoint? I thought he uses a Dana Sheridan. 45000 dollar Brannen flute, but I'm sure he can do this on a nickelplated student flute. Looks like a very relaxed embouchure. But to look beyond the technicalities: the music is heavenly! Everytime I hear it is like the first time ever. I feel so blessed to be able to play this (but not like this, of course!).
Some people don't like that Pahud is a bit breathy in his sound, and also not very loud. He's still my favorite flutist though because of his sense of musicianship and style. He really nails Baroque and Classical era music.
@@TheNewFlutist No, he's not breathy at all. You can criticize the forced timbre in the low register but it is the current fashion ( I don't like it either, even if sometimes I mimic it to look "cool", but not for my public ). He has thumbs down because he's excellent, famous, and he drives a lot of money !
It's... Amazing. I play the flute too, and my flute it's made with silver. One of my dreams it's to have a gold flute... This video it's a big lesson of how to play it, however. With love.
what a comment! Full of love, reverence, intelligence, insight, etc. You don't see this type of comment on many vidoes on this ocean known at you tube!

This is always going to be the best version of the Mozart flute concerto, forever Emmanuel Pahud 🧡🧡🧡

I met him in person twice ... super nice person also!
Yes I agree. He is the most genuine and passionate musician I met so far. A true inspiration!

Can I grow up to be him? PLLLLLEEEEASE?? God, I wish I was that good. He is simply amazing.
soooo its been 9 years, did you achieve that goal?
Entendi tudo! Só que não.
entendible q tenga buen dia 😃👍
JUST A GOD‼️
1:49 start of solo

His smile while he plays ^^

Is Bach.
Grevy Ghislain La Suisse

Albrecht is garbage
beautiful, he plays the flute with such fluidity and ease. makes it seem so effortless.
I love this rudimetary orchestra, it might be the same what Mozart had on his sight at the time. Bravo!!!
Watching this Jan 1st 2017 - inspiring me to practise more. Happy New Year!
Wonderful, his keeping up the energy in the Cadenza, and just everything is there. I love his playing when it is at its genuine best.
La cadencia es increíble.
Their wonderful performance embody the musical aesthetics and soul of Mozart

Wonderful~~!!!

just curious for what reasons there are jerks there thumb down for Mr.Pahud's bravo flute technique show?
those damn piccolo fan bois

TheNewFlutist funny now this sound is now what people aim for instead of the older rampall/ Galway sound. I think it’s a good change though

Absolutely BRILLIANT. Loved the cadenza.
He's the principle flute for one of the top orchestras in the world, definitely needs to use the best of the best flute.
MUSICA CLASICA ES MELODIA UNIVERSAL, CREA, ORGANIZA, ARMONIZA, RELAJA, ENCANTA, ALEGRA.
Amazing Beautiful...The Cadenza is perfect
EMMANUEL PAHUD. This is the greatest flute player in the world today.
I'll listen to it in May in Monaco.
This the best flute performance of all time
BEAUTIFUL!!
I played the piccolo and flute.
I want to play again!
Pahud writes his own!
Interesting fact though - he was born on Mozart's Birthday!
Fantastic
It's amazing

sağolun hepiniz kalplerimizi arındırdınız için
wonderful
wspaniała kreacja! barwna, czarująca i ciekawa...(!!!)
1st oboe is Albrecht Meyer i believe
No
So pleasing to hear

I think he is a better musician then Lady Gaga or Madonna and hip-hop. What do you think?
He is the BEST
Easily. Without a sliver of a doubt.
Anytime!
LMFAOOOO
My inspiration.
te amamos!!!!!!
@fblwl
it's just the camera angle. You can see them clearly in other shots.
Simplemente sublime.
I´ve played this...it's beautiful piece :-)
Is it the same Pahud who's with the Berliner Philharmoniker?
Yes
I wish i were that good, or COULD be that good! :(
You CAN be better than that, pace yourself, play for yourself, and you'll never fail.
Bravo maestro,Bravo
wooo he is awesome best flautist ever ! :P
How does he do a high E to F# trill using that finger at 3:50?
Without touching the right forefinger key.
@@gabsantosr i know this is old but thank you lol
TUTTO A MEMORIA!!!! UN GRANDE!!!!
I'm speechless because I'm too good.
Does anyone know where i can find the music for this song?
