As far as African history is concerned, the story of Valentine Strasser is a fascinating one. It would be great if he could write a book.

Thanks for the documentary. I love this man's how he responds to your questions. I have also watched the video at the UN plenary hall. I couldn't resist liking his articulation on matters Africa and Sierra Leone. My prayer is that one day he will appear again in the world stage of politics. Congratulations for this video.

I have respect for him. He did not stash cash in some off shore bank like todays leaders do. If he had, he would have been rich by now. I respect him for being sefless. Those saying he blew his opportunity want to mean that he should have hidden lots of cash somewhere.

I’m not from Sierra Leone but Strasser and Maada Bio’s issue qualifies for a fine case study.
It’s beats imagination to Know that, a man ( Strasser) who is claimed to love power hence doesn’t want to surrender it, never returned to join or form political party, but he’s accuser ( Maada Bio) was able to go into politics and even progressed to become a Head of State.
So the question now is; “which of them loves power”?

Very interesting guy Ret Capt. Strasser. Very impressive person. Such a pity his life after leadership of his country did not go so well. He is so eloquent, wise and has a real persona of leadership about him. His country would do well to include him somewhere in their structures, maybe as an independent government adviser. The African Union would also do well to involve him in continental affairs. This level of experience and wisdom, in an otherwise young former statesman is like gold. It is a travesty that his life today is characterised by despair and self harm.
The circumstances and context of the things that happened back in 1992 onwards in his country under his command; and his involvement should be viewed and weighed in the right way. He’s real, and I would really like to meet him one day.
Respect to you and may God bless you, your country might not realise what a jewel they have in their midsts 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾

In addition to that, JMB is taking care of his life time medical bills from the time he became president and until he leaves office. How much more do you want the government to do for him when our people are suffering from poverty? Captain VEM Strassar should have put himself together as well.

Clearly, Maada Bio is power conscious whiles Strasser only served his people but as he had not stolen from his people, he is poor today. Maada Bio who seems to know the taste for money has ventured into politics and as rewarding we are for corruption, Maada Bio is now the President of Sierra Leone.

It seems like Sierra Leone has never healed from the War! Hopefully, the time will come when the people will demand change and healing! But it's up to the people...However, as the Capt., said, the Southern Region suffered the most during the war. The aftermath of killings also hunts the path of healing. Long ways to go! Emotions will continue to run high the surviving families. Generations will pass down what they heard about their family members, making healing very difficult. Some war torn countries have healed and moved on for the sake of the people. Generate opportunities for all Sierra Leoneans. This will help in truly rebuilding the nation. That day will come...it's a young nation!

Emancipate yourself from the slave language. English is a foreign language in our land, don't make it a priority when the Englishman is not making our languages a priority, not one! English is not the standard by which we should express ourselves, we will always be limited in foreign tounge!

@@marckazlauskas4673 The slave card has to be played (that is, decoding and rejecting the trend) because the Eurocentric players are still in the game of dominating and oppressing anything African. Valentine doesn't know Maada much. He answered your question already. Valentine was not in favour of Democracy and that's why he was removed from power. Please leave Maada alone and talk about Samura ok? Samura has destroyed the economy of that country and that's a big problem for our people.
