The real eldritch horror is the speedrunner and the game is about thalamus trembling in the fear knowing that one of his avatars would be in a constant state of being beaten up and broken by speedrunners, achievement hunters and build theorists with this suffering being eternal and him having no way to escape it.
The self awareness in this game is too real. First he knew we were responsible for everything happened in the game, and now he can notice someone speedrunning in the game and decide to punish you because he wanted to be an asshole. God damn you Thalamus, you are evil to both the character, and the player.
Sooo...the devs are assuming no one can reach Caer Siorai in less than an hour? Or is it because they are checking whether you have met certain requirements, considering the dialogue about sigil gate?

Those names are all people who have speedrun Death's Gambit before. Either way, this reinforces my idea that this game is a masterpiece that hasn't been seen properly by the Indie Game community yet.
