Sam Quill then he should have done something after getting the money the fact and he should have seek forgiveness from the victim father and tell him the truth. Of course he did it for his daughter but after the trial the fact that he neglect what happen to the victim family was entirely his fault and his choices. This movie made me remember the Japanese school girl who was raped, burnt, cut and all kinds of torture for months by 3 or 4 Japanese school boys. The boys cemented her body in a barrel and was found by the police accidentally. The boys were from a gang(?) Idk, I don't remember properly. Even though the evidence were crystal clear, they weren't arrested and the girl was even treated as a whore and her gravestone was even littered and her name was desecrated by the people. Two mangaka even drew about it, one is a bit of false and the other one drew it exactly how it happened. There's a documentary of it if you guys search for it. I don't remember the name so.

Only one boy told anyone. Then the cops did f-all with his report. He was later ostracized for being a snitch, even the police harassed him after it was all over. People are evil.

@@AceMoonshot The problem is that Asian societies tend to be hierarchical which makes abuses more likely at all levels. This is why Asian democracies across the board are less competitive (even mature democracies like Japan, Singapore, etc) are closer to one party rule than genuine contest. There are debate on whether that is good or not but it is more understandable even if more tragic. But, there is a danger the West is becoming like this as well.

Love and hatred are the opposite feeling but both can do the same thing. It can drive human so far for them to do literally anything in the name of love or hatred.
And another good lesson learn here is if you sometime can stay as outsider just stay as outsider. The female detective is the only one losing her sanity and the only who going to live with a living hell she create on her own ambition and curiosity. Like old time said "Curiosity kill a cat", She is a cat.
