    Some of these comments obsessing about celibacy and chastity and wondering why he doesn’t talk about it...Maybe take a good hard look at how you practice chastity before prying into another man’s life and criticizing what he chose to focus on in his personal testimony. It’s clear that Hudson has a relationship with God, and already knows where the Church stands on this issue. Hudson’s life choices are a private matter between him and God - most of us do not understand his struggle with same sex attraction and the completely radical form of chastity it entails. Trust the love he declares for God in his testimony and stop looking to judge.

    • @elleekani
      @elleekani 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Joan Liut God loved us first, we are all already benefiting from his love. We just have to built a relationship with God based on this unconditional love. This will eventually lead to asking for forgiveness because you are so thankful to God and wish to serve him. I don't think one has to repent in order to feel his love because he already does even before you were born. I just think we have to notice it.

    • @joanl.7543
      @joanl.7543 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      God loves us first before we can possibly love God. Still, to gain forgiveness for sin, we need to turn to God by means of the Sacraments. For those already baptized, that means confession.
      Feeling God's love is great so far as it goes, but it is not a necessary thing.

    Do not judge lest you be judged.. Do not judge another persons heart, because when we all face God one day.. Your heart will be judged.. Who are any of you to say what this man needs or feels.. You have not a clue.. He gave a beautiful insight into "his" souls journey, and would you have the strength to walk in his shoes. He is loved by God and that is all that matters and he has given his heart to God.. That is all that matters, not your hateful comments..

      Judge righteous judgement for the same measure you use will be measured to you. It’s impossible not to judge. We judge everything that comes into our view, hearing, and touch. We need to use righteous judgement. How did Jesus judge the woman caught in adultery? He didn’t condemn her but told her to sin no more. Judging that her act was a sin, and must no longer be done. Our Lord is merciful. He loves us all. We are all precious to Him and He wants us home with Him. We’re all the prodigal son when we come home to our Father.

    When we get to the painful realization that we are who we are, yet we are ashamed of who we are, we hide on the outside and on the inside. Especially at the tender ages of puberty. This weighs a psychological burden deep in us from which many may not recover, and it drives us further away from the moral codes which God and the Church teach for the prosperity of ourselves and our nations. The Church can not be fully experienced in the hidden shadows of an ashamed soul, it must be experienced in the light to prevail. Thank you for your courage to tell your story and for the impact of your message. God bless you!

    Hudson truly has a gaping desire to take in all the love that God can give. Not only does he submit himself to the shepherd's staff - but in doing so - he receives countless seeds of wisdom from Peter and the apostles.
    He says yes to God's true church, the very one Christ ordered Peter to erect. Hudson has the courage to harden up through faith and thrust himself into the church, head first. It's a wondrous union.

    I appreciate they are trying to tackle a sensitive topic, but I'm thinking this is too ambiguous. In this day in age, if you don't speak in the clearest language about celibacy and chastity for those with homosexual inclinations, then you can easily be misunderstood. People do not automatically know nowadays that "life in Christ" means a chaste life with no homosexual relationships.
    Since originally posting this, I see Ascension Presents clarifying the issue and affirming Catholic chastity. Good to see. I like this series of videos.

    • @TheNyakaat
      @TheNyakaat 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Joan Liut you said "life in Christ means a chaste life with no homosexual relationships". But life in Christ is more than that. It is a CHASTE LIFE WITH NO SEXUAL RELATIONSHIPS, WHATSOEVER, OUTSIDE OF A CHRISTIAN MARRIAGE BETWEEN A MAN AND HIS WIFE.

    • @joanl.7543
      @joanl.7543 7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Of course that's true.
      I meant to clarify the "no homosexual relationships" angle because I felt concerned that someone might see this and not realize that the man had to renounce his homosexual past- they may think that this was about a "LGBT" Catholic who was somehow having it both ways. I thought it needed to be made crystal clear that this interpretation was wrong, because some posters below seem like they might be confused on that point. I don't think my remark implied that other sexual sin is okay.

    This was beautiful. This world is obsessed with sexual gratification and many have made it the center of their lives. The love of Christ puts everything in its proper place. He helps us live in the healthy order that was intended for us before the fall. This world will mean sacrifice and suffering for those who love Him, but even in this we find peace. This life is temporal and we live for eternity with the One who loves us so much that He laid His life down for us. Pray for all our brothers and sisters who long for this Love.

      It can be lonely for a person to be celibate.
      I don't know what it is like to be you and I wont claim to know.
      But look at priests(most of them anyway). They live a celibate life to death. They find things and ways to keep them uplifted. But at the center it's Christ.
      Christ is the only thing in this world that wont fail you. So when you are in a hard place, turn to Him and hold on to Him. It will take time and courage to this and to feel right, but I hope you are able to do so.
      As a straight man I, in a way can relate. I don't have a SO and I feel terribly depressed about it at times. It is a cross that we must carry. But with Christ we can do it.

    Salvation through Christ is expressed through the Great and New Commandments...
    And a lawyer stood up and put Him to the test, saying, “Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?” And He said to him, “What is written in the Law? How does it read to you?” And he answered, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all your mind; and your neighbor as yourself.” And He said to him, “You have answered correctly; do this and you will live.” -- Luke 10:25-28
    "A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another, even as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.” -- John 13:34-35
    Through these all of the other commandments are fulfilled. God bless you, Hudson. You are loved by your fellow brothers and sisters in Christ. Those who hate and persecute you do so apart from His Love.

      Hey there! I struggle with these attractions too, and I can understand how scary and difficult they can be. When I first went into the Catholic church I got completely blindsided by the presence of God in the Holy Eucharist. I knew there was no way I could just experience it once and then move on with my life. I kept coming back, and it’s been a long journey of self-discovery and sacrifice, but I believe it’s worth it, and I have learned to trust in Him. That’s why I’m still choosing to convert to Catholicism this spring, despite the church’s views.
      My family had some trouble understanding as well, but thankfully there are a lot of videos and articles out there that might help. Maybe you could show them, and open up a conversation? I can understand if that’s not an option though. I just wanted to let you know I support you no matter what, and if you have any questions or just want a listening ear, don’t be afraid to ask! I’ll be praying for you!

    Bravo, Hudson! Our Church needs to be doing more of this: sharing the testimonies of people who experience same-sex inclinations. Reading through the comments, I’m astounded by how people confuse sharing one’s testimony with Catechetical instruction. This is the testimony of Hudson, who shared his personal experience of discerning his sexuality and using that experience to grow ever more closely into communion with the Church- it’s not a finger-wagging how-to-be-gay instructional video. And this is the problem with our Church today, particularly with the laity who mistakenly regard themselves as Canon lawyers: we don’t actually know the LGBTQ, so we try to confine the abstract SSA person into our own little box. We’re all sinners, from the LGBTQ parishioner in the back pew to the little blue haired old lady praying the rosary in the very front. We all need repentance, and we all need the mercy of God. Too many Catholics are falling into the trap of the Pharisees by pretending that their sins aren’t as great or numerous as the gay guy with a rainbow tattoo praying before entering confession. All y’all need Jesus! Anyway, end rant. Thank you, Hudson!

I am 33 and I do not fully comprehend what she is going through other than depression and anxiety (as that is what I have, and she has also been diagnosed with). I want to help her, love her as Christ loves her, support her the way I should as a Catholic mother. Her own biological mother is not Christian. How do I help her, support her? I love her as if she was my own. Any advice and direction of the Church's teachings would be most welcome. Thank you, and God bless you.

      She will be disappointed but it's normal, dont you think? But a disappointment is always something that we can fix. The disappointment from this situation may come out of fear of you will leave catholicism. So when you come out to your mom, make sure you are both alone and calm, and prepare yourself to convince your mom that you need support in getting through this, and that you will choose a life of chastity. Have you heard about Andy Warhol? He struggled from this too and his mom was a strict catholic and he stayed in the church..he wasn't a perfect example but maybe it can inspire you

    Okay this was very beautiful but where in this entire video does he talk about how he is living life as a chaste and single man of God and avoiding same sex romantic relationships? Father this is a great video but unless you have a commentary either in the beginning or at the end stating the Church’s position on homosexuality, that they are children of God first and foremost, that we are not identified by our sexuality but by who we are as individuals, and that those with same sex attractions are called to be single, then this video fails to truly glorify Christ and His Church’s teachings. Please make sure there is clarification so that people don’t think it’s okay to be “actively” homosexual in the Catholic Church.

      Just to be clear, being gay is not a sin, we love everyone, just like being a straight man who has sexual urges outside of marriage is not sinning. But all of us, heterosexual, bi, or homosexual, are only to be sexual within the Sacrament of Marriage which is only between a husband and his wife, as a means to bond and to procreate.

    From watching thos video I also realise the sin that us heterosexuals commit and why. For example, I was also exposed to pornography early on. I was always told by older man and friends that I should have sex with as many women as I can. A lot of young man are told the same thing. We were told that we are gay if we do not sleep around. I really struggle with fornication and pornography. I have slowly left that vice but It is really hard not to look at women lustfully.
    I guess evrrything that we struggle with has a root. God bless you all.

      Brigit R I think you misunderstand the Church's standing on homosexuality. While the Church teaches that homosexual acts are sinful and condones any of these acts, we are also called to love those who struggle with these feelings. Everyone has their own crosses to bear and we have to help and support others in carrying their own; not by encouraging them to give into the temptations but by helping them to overcome their desires and carry their cross strongly and relying on God's loving grace.

      Brigit R You are right, there is nothing "wrong" with people who experience same-sex attraction; the sinfulness lies in the acting out of these desires.

    • @AnnInFL
      @AnnInFL 7 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Brigit R
      Yes, there is something wrong with it. The homosexual desire IS disordered. But we ALL have different disordered desires! We cannot accept sinful inclinations and thoughts as acceptable and good. For example, I may be jealous of someone, or angry and want revenge. I may have lustful thoughts, etc. What if I have a sexual attraction to children? This is a disordered desire. If you have wrong thoughts of ANY kind, you have to fight them, not tell yourself that is just who you are. If you give in to them, they become habits that are hard to break, but God's grace can and does give us the strength to overcome.

    • @jmjaquinas7298
      @jmjaquinas7298 7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      AnnInFL You're absolutely right. As someone who struggles with SSA and who is a student of theology and Scripture and a revert to the Church from Protestantism I can affirm that there is something disordered in me that leads to these disordered desires contrary to the revealed will of God, but through the grace of the all-loving God all of us, no matter our sins or proclivities can be brought to the fullness of God's Truth and Love.
      God bless!!

    " true identity in Christ, Catholicism, and chastity"
    But see THAT is exactly the problem.
    How is gay sex a sin exactly? (I have had this argument already and spoiler alert. The gays win.)
    "Well its a sin because it doesn't end with a child being born"
    ok, but can you point out where God favors having children over true love?
    Besides there are 7.2 billion people on earth and many places have had to do some really radical things just to deal with over population.
    Adding more kids into the mix won't make it any easy to fix things you claim to care about such as world hunger and homelessness.

    Finding Christ means a renewal of the heart. If one is identifying as gay, or adulturous, or whatever it may be, but proclaiming that as not sin because he or she isnt "physically" acting on it is wrong. They are still sinning through thought of the heart. Christ came to free us of these sins. Accept us as we are, teach us the truth, so that we may escape sin (in all forms, not just physical actions) through Him.

    La práctica homosexual que no la atracción hacia las personas del mismo sexo, no es una cuestión, dentro de la revelación cristiana, de libre elección como propone la ideología de género, sino que es una transgresión a los planes de Dios porque así mismo se nos ha sido revelado en las Sagradas Escrituras: "Y creó Dios al hombre a su imagen, a imagen de Dios lo creó; varón y hembra los creó" (Génesis 1,27). No podemos comparar el entendimiento humano corrompido por el pecado y las propias limitaciones humanas, con el entendimiento y el juicio de Dios. Tampoco podemos comparar el amor humano, que por lo general se busca a si mismo, con el verdadero amor, cuyo modelo está en Jesucristo, que como Dios conoce que es amar y que no; él con su obediencia y con su vida nos muestra que el verdadero amor es oblativo: olvido de si mismo para donarse como ofrenda al Padre del cual procede todo, como todo concluye en él.
    Por tanto, como cristianos y también como criaturas, estamos llamados a buscar el verdadero sentido de nuestra existencia, que es presentar la cara visible de Dios en nosotros, ya que a imagen suya fuimos creados.
    La homosexualidad es revertirble, de hecho hay cientos de testimonios que así lo avalan en la Web, y si en algunos no se da este cambio o lo ven como algo inalcanzable, tenemos que aprender a llevar la cruz como hizo Jesucristo, porque por hedonismo y por hacer lo que siento y deseo en cada momento (en la autocontemplacción de mi propio yo) al final terminaremos matando a los deficientes físicos y mentales (ya se hace con el aborto) y a los ancianos o personas jóvenes postradas como pasará ahora con la ley de la eutanasia. En cualquier caso me dirijo principalmente a personas que se dicen cristianas o seguidoras de Jesucristo.
    Aquí os dejo en el enlace que pondré a continuación mi autobiografía, la experiencia que yo he vivido en el mundo homosexual; de como llegué a sentir atracción por las personas de mi mismo sexo y como pude salir de la práctica homosexual bastantes años después, la puedes descargar a tu tlf, tablet u ordenador desde Google Drive

    Every person is loved by God. BUT Our Lord said that if we love Him we are to keep His commandments and in other places in holy scripture He even said to look on another with lust is a form of adultery. We are all called to chastity in our state of life. Fornication is mortally sinful. Acting on every inclination is not okay. Sex is for marriage which can only ever be between a man and a woman united in the sacrament. We are all called to holiness and only the pure in heart shall see God. Saying not to judge is not helpful! Truth with love is what is needed. To support, promote, and celebrate sinful lifestyles does not help a soul to enter heaven.

      I think that this video is genius because it's a reverse of more liberal videos that make gay people (who don't live celibately) out to be people who are oppressed by churches, and that they've found love in a church that doesn't suppress them.

    • @Lucy-dd7mx
      @Lucy-dd7mx 7 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      That’s irrelevant. He knows where the church stands on this issue, and it is clear that he is close to God. Do you have adulterous thoughts? Have you ever looked at a woman lustfully? I don’t think you would like being asked questions about your sexual sins, so maybe rethink the point of a testimony and what it’s meant to communicate - no one has to answer to you. Hudson’s life choices are a private matter between him and God, trust the love he declares for God in his testimony and stop looking to judge.

      He practices celibacy, Stephen. We are all sinners and we cannot and should not speak to any individuals' personal sins, but, we and Hudson both believe that homosexual urges should not be acted upon. The primary key is to seek out the mercy of God (through the ministry of the Church) through the Sacrament of Confession if and when we do fall into any serious sin.

Is it ok for him to be at the sacraments while negating God's original plan of creation, being sexual relations between male and female? Yes, the Church advocates that we love and pray constantly for those who face such life challenges but to me, this video says it's ok to be what he is. Love means “to will the good of the other.” Which has nothing to do with gender. Marriage and sexuality are sacramental, and a particular way God has designed to harness that love. And God has made genders for this precise purpose, meaning marriage, and by proxy sexual acts within marriage, ought to be between males and females. I love Hudson’s testimony because it is a witness to this fact! God bless :)

    WELL DAMN! If I thought that this is how the homosexual experience is even I would be put off by it. Luckily I know better. This video is 90% some random experience of inner battles with perversion/pornography and 10% of what actual gay people go through. It's interesting how he never specifically mentions being attracted to men, but rather just feeling different and more feminine than he should. A huge red flag is that he says he started watching gay and transgender porn? Lol if you were an actual gay male you'd know that gay men wouldn't watch transgender porn. They'd be put off by the female bodies. What I see happening here is a really confused man who is just kinky as hell. He seems to have fetishes and attractions to penis but also the female body. That's more in the "Femdom" realm of sexual activity than the homosexual one. This guy's just perverted and submissive and confusing it for homosexuality. Sad, but oh well.

      Grace be with you brethren in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ and God our Father, I thank God our Father for accepting me on His Kingdom of His Son and as a garden still on cultivation,
      Brothers and sisters stop saying you " We we're born this way", All the spirit of sins are not from God, but "We humans are all from God", He made and knitted us on our mother's womb for purpose and free will, but the sins are not from God but from the rebelious fallen angel, which is the serpent that "Tempted the humanity" on our dowfall. We are all from God our Father, but we are not from the father of sins: discouragement, confussions,immorality, discouragement, lies, hopelessness and all negativity which is from the devil. We are born on "likeness and image of God" which are "Humans"
      but the devil tainted us and made us believed we are born "This Way".
      Nope we arent, The Lord Jesus told us and warned us that the devil is a liar and there was no truth on him, father of lies, hatred, doubt and so on twisting truth into lies producing discouragement of the us the Children of God to depart and condemn are selves from our Savior and Lord Jesus.
      On the gospel the Lord Jesus said "Deny yourself" and follow me. We
      Humans was consumed by our own sins that satan has produced .The Lord Jesus means repent, deny, and forsake your sinful selves and follow Him. There are many "unclean diseases" in people in the Gospel and the Lord Jesus always replied " Do you believed I can?", "Unclean disease Lepper" is known to be uncurable disease, that symbolizes the "sin" that afflicted us that we thought its uncurable, 😄😄😀😀 So stop saying " I am who I am", No you're not, you are Child of God, He loves you, If you believed and follow Him, He will cleansed it, and you will be born again. In the Gospel the Lord said to the woman that has "uncurable internal bleeding" she said to her "your faith has cured you, daughter".
      Sin is nothing but a disease that people thought its uncurable, but the Lord Jesus is the Great Doctor, He mends broken the heart. So dont be hopeless. So dont condemned yourself away from the Lord Jesus, In God everything is possible, one touched if you believed He will cure you. You're a Child of God, you're not a child of sin. God loves you more than you know. Paul mentioned was all the spirit of sins that afflicted and corrupted the human soul in I Corinthians 6: 9-10, the spirit of homosexuality is not from God and not from us but it is from the devil the father of all sins. So stop saying God made you that way, No He didnt, But It is from the father of lies and sins the devil. So stop departing and hating the Lord Jesus, He came for all of us to be cured and freed from what we think "uncurable unclean disease" which is the shackles of any spirit of "sins" . God is our Father who made us, We all are all humans came from Him , not from the devil who produced lies, misery, and disbelief. So please brothers and sisters, If you are willing to be free. Repent, forsake,deny put off the old man of yourself and follow the Lord Jesus Christ. It will be hard but remember we all have a cross to carry. Submit to God and resist the temptation of sin , Seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these shall be added unto you. Do not condemn yourself God knew all our pain, His thought is higher than all of us, Read the Book of Isaiah. It is the God's mercy, judgement and justice for the oppressed.
      God's justice is right and just, why? because it is written: MERCY ALWAYS TRIUMPHS JUDGEMENT.
      It is all the cause of the wicked while we are on a great pain of self-hatred, to others and to God because of the hatred and confussions. But God was never the author of confusion but of peace, thats why He came down and walked here on earth, as the Light in the darkness.
      We are all Children and made by God and we we're never an accident so stop hating yourself. it is the spirit sins that caused us such hatred to ourselves and to God.The Lord Jesus said the eyes are the window of our souls on what we see can affect are soul, so see things only that is good so it will brighten your soul and if that is bad it can darken your soul and corrupt it. But again Lord Jesus is a Great Doctor that mends broken heart, souls, and cast off unclean spirits all you have to do is to follow and deny and depart from your oldself and resist the sin of any lust of the flesh on mind, heart, soul and physical and lived and walked into what God's Will's you to do by His Son Lord Jesus Christ.
      God will purify us all by one touch if you believed and accepted His Son and all sins and impurity are cleansed and we are all now in the Book of Life. "Their sins and their lawlessness deeds I will remember no more" - Hebrew 10: 17
      Walking on Spirit will be quite hard because the sins of spirit that you fomerly commited and renounced in the past will try to attack you and tempt you and you have to resist it but do not fear or fear not you have
      the Great Shepherd on your side, that will uphold you with His righteous right hand.
      Dont condemn yourself, God knew and sees everything that happened in the our past why we are like these. Watch the Parable of the prodigal son for brothers who seeks God and to sisters who seek God watch Amazing love : Gomer and Hosea.

      "All unrighteousness is a sin, and there is sin not leading to death".
      1 John 5 17
      Sin is nothing but a "disease" that can lead to death. But the Lord Jesus is a great a doctor, if you fight your disease with Him with faith.

      Devan Brandalick please explain why you are shaming Ascension Press and calling this man weak? Did you watch the video?
      You used the word “disgusting.” I find sins disgusting too; all sins, including sins such as offenses against the truth. The Catechism of the Catholic Church (paragraphs 2477-2488) describes what it means to be guilty of such sins: “He becomes guilty of rash judgment who, even tacitly, assumes as true, without sufficient foundation, the moral fault of a neighbor” & “To avoid rash judgment, everyone should be careful to interpret insofar as possible his neighbor's thoughts, words, and deeds in a favorable way.”

      We are all weak my friend, no one is exempt from the nature of the fallen. But this man was able to practice celibacy. Just like any habitual sin, we have the impulses, but only the spiritually strong are able to overcome; and guess what? We are all called to be spiritually strong. My point is, we are all on the same boat, so do not vent rash judgement.
